I'm writing an SCP for the first time ( At least first time since I was 11) and I'm still a little hazy on the rules and all. I was thinking of posting an excerpt from what I have and receive some thoughts on it from everyone!
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be placed in a 1 room cell, with a ceiling of at least 5 meters and 7 meters flooring as this entity is extremely large and active. The room is equipped with an area for resting appropriately fit for its bone structure, Some form of stimulation such as a rollable ball, a durable large fidget toy, or anything able to be used for extended periods of time. Near the rest, the area is to be an old television set that is to be on 7 am to 11 pm and always tuned to the same channel, one that solely plays reruns of 1960s soap operas. This will keep SCP-XXXX stimulated and occupied. Changing the channel might cause somewhat of a tantrum in the entity, Which can be very dangerous due to its size. So will attempting to interact with anything it is currently fixated with.
The entity is to be under surveillance 24/7 when inside its cell, and supervised by a researcher and a security guard when outside the cell. It is NOT allowed to leave its cell without expressed permission and level 3 clearance. Allowing it to will have extreme repercussions for those involved. If SCP-XXXX is spotted unsupervised outside of its designated area, it is to be reported to a superior immediately and, if possible, guided back to its cell. SCP-XXXX is not inherently hostile, though it is sapient.
SCP-XXXX often reacts negatively when exposed to modern technology (See test-003) As such, when in the presence of this creature, attempt to keep items such as Computers, cellphones, digital cameras, and any other 21st technology deemed inappropriate out of sight. Failure to do so could result in a ‘ temper tantrum’ Documented items shown to provoke SCP-XXXX include:
Cellular devices
Laptops
Digital cameras ( this does not include Polaroid or large handheld video cameras)
Digital/smartwatches `
Description: SCP-XXXX is an extremely mutated humanoid, 4.5 meters in height when standing straight up, with a wingspan of 5 meters. Its hands, when measured from fingertips to wrist, measure an impressive 2 meters total. Its legs strangely only measure 1.6 meters and seem to struggle when holding its body up. Due to this, SCP-XXXX puts most of its weight when walking and resting on the palms of its hand and a muscled appendage resembling a tail. This ‘tail’ shows no other use than to support the creature’s body weight. A translucent layer of skin covers its body, under which resides an extremely thick layer of muscle- About 3x as thick as the average human. Veins and layers of fat are also visible through its skin. This organism does not seem to possess any form of fingernails or body hair besides the wirey, black, and coarse hair that runs from the top of its head to its c7 vertebrae, And a very thin layer of hair near its stomach. These hairs seem to show trace amounts of a compound identified as [DATA EXPUNGED], possibly giving it the coarse texture.
This entity has a complete lack of a nose bridge, enlarged jaw, and long forehead. The creature’s mouth possesses no form of Canines or premolars, instead only having 2 flat incisors in front of its top jaw, and 34 molars populating the majority of its mouth in neat order, though a bit crowded. SCP has similar anatomy to a human, in the sense of having lungs, heart, stomach, kidneys, spinal cord, a skeleton similar to that of a human, and more. But all of these are extremely disproportionate to the creature. Its heart is extremely enlarged, along with both of its lungs. Organs like the Kidneys and liver are seemingly unaffected except for small benign tumors.
The skeleton is the most peculiar part of SCP-XXXX. X-rays have revealed the creature to have signs of broken bones and fractures that should have been life-threatening but healed up relatively quickly, these signs were also shown in muscle and skin tissue.
Due to its aversion to cameras, SCP-XXXX has yet to allow photographs of it but a recreation of its face has been provided below.
