Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is contained in a modified containment safe at Site-17. The safe is equipped with light sensors and emitters attached to a terminal and alarm system. Should any light be detected, the alarm is automatically activated and the nearest senior researcher is required to interact with the terminal, answering the question that may appear at the screen. If no senior researcher is nearby at the time of an SCP-XXXX-A event, the nearest junior researcher or security guard is required to respond. If the question is of a sensitive matter, "Unable" should be answered.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a cube constituted by an unknown reflective material measuring 15.6cm on all vertices and weighting 246g. It was retrieved by foundation agent Goldstein, who bought it from a local yard sale. The previous owner complained how SCP-XXXX "didn't like" being on display, as it used to make sounds like door knocks and pet noises. Said noises kept happening until object was put in a drawer. SCP-XXXX has surface self-repairing properties and is reflective to 99.99% of light. After one month under foundation custody, the first SCP-XXXX-A event was observed.
SCP-XXXX-A are events that take place every 9 hours and 48 minutes. SCP-XXXX starts emitting red light pulses from all faces. These binary pulses can be decoded as standard ASCII text:

Pulses repeat and gain intensity until the message is acknowledged by pulsing similar red light unto it. The foundation has not been able to determine an upper limit for pulse intensity. Further communication pulses may happen. These contain questions that range from mathematical problems to nonsensical queries and are repeated until an answer is pulsed back in a similar manner. The operator may ask a question alongside it, which is not guaranteed to be answered by the object. SCP-XXXX then becomes inactive until the next event.
