SCP-4634

Item# : SCP-4634

Object Class : Safe

Special Containment Procedures : Under no circumstances should any flammable material be brought into the containment chamber of SCP-4634. The room where SCP-4634 is contained is to be locked and guarded by one (1) lightly armed guard which will be cycled over a period of one (1) week. The room where SCP-4634 is contained needs to be 10 m in width and length and have glass panels lined next to the entry point for safe observation.
The house where SCP-4634 is contained is to be sealed and have all its entry points blocked. A cover story about the house being burnt down and confiscated by the government is to be told to any civilian displaying interest on the house. Any civilian with prior knowledge about SCP-4634 or the house where it is contained is to be amnesticized and told the same cover story.

Description : SCP-4634 is a brick chimney located within an uninhabited house displaying high degrees of fire damage in its interior. According to Foundation historians, the house was built during the late 70s. SCP-4634 is 5 m in height and has a seventy-five 75 cm2 fireplace. The anomalous effects of SCP-4634 activate when any flammable material is burning in the fireplace and a live creature from the kingdom of Animalia is standing 5 meters in a 180o angle around the opening of SCP-4634. The creature, now designated as SCP-4634-1 will go within 4 stages listed below.

Stage 1, Fixation : Instances of SCP-4634-1 will begin staring at the fire made in the fireplace of SCP-4634. When questioned about the reason of the behavior, the subject replied “A warm, fuzzy feeling in my heart“

Stage 2, Hyperactivity : An cognitohazard wave is spread around a 5 m radius around a 180o angle triggering elevated levels of dopamine, adrenaline ,and insulin hormones at an alarming rate. Digestive organs will begin to work faster and digest excess sugars.

Stage 3, Heating : Due to the anomalous effects of SCP-4634, the body of SCP-4634-1 will use this excess energy to elevate body heat to dangerous levels with the highest recording around 72o degree Celsius.

Stage 4, Burning : Due to the extreme body heat, fires will begin to appear at the body SCP-4634-1. Using the fat contained within the body of SCP-4634-1 as fuel, the fire will continue to spread until no more fat is present. It was hypothesized that at this point, dopamine production reaches its highest peak. This is proven by the fact that SCP-4634-1 instances would laugh maniacally while burning.

Addendum : During a routine observation, security guard AB proceeded to attack junior researcher, Dr. Cornelius Salt and proceeded to take a litre of alcohol and the keys to the containment chamber of SCP-4634. He then dragged Dr. Salt to the containment chamber and attempted to turn him into an instance of SCP-4634-1. Dr. Salt fought back and grabbed a pistol from the guard’s holster before using it to heavily injure the guard. The guard was presumed dead when site security found Dr. Salt complaining about his paycheck next to the guard’s body. Dr. Salt was hired as head of research of SCP-4634 when the original head of research was transferred to another project.

“Apparently, SCP-4634 causes people who work near in close vicinity to be obsessed with the object and attempt to activate it. People with memetic resistance is affected slower as Cole attacked me in his 5th day on the job while Martin was only started to get interested in the object after working here for almost a month. Anyway, I’m being transferred to Keter duty for killing 5 of the people I worked with in self-defense. Martin is the only survivor and is probably going to be hired as the head of research, dammit. I worked with Safe class SCPs specifically to avoid this shit. Let’s just hope whatever Keter class SCP I’m going to work with is gonna be less dangerous than this.”
~Dr. Cornelius Salt

Request to reclassify SCP-4634 to Euclid by Dr. Martin Cooper is pending approval
