Special Containment Procedures: Due to the stationary nature of SCP-XXXX, relocation to a containment site is not possible at this time and as such onsite containment has been enacted. SCP-XXXX is to be isolated from the general access wings of the building and the entrance patrolled by members of Mobile Task Force Pi-1 instructed to detain civilians encountered past the initial cordon. All persons seen to be exiting the containment cordon of SCP-XXXX are to be immediately detained and transferred to debriefing and eventual transfer to Site-06-3 for indefinite incarceration. SCP-XXXX is to be kept closed at all times, except in the occurrence of an SCP-XXXX-B instance, in which case the instance is to be immediately detained and placed in Provisional Site-XXXX on-site containment.
Description: SCP-XXXX is located under the Ellis Island immigration terminal in Ellis Island, New York. SCP-XXXX is composed of two parts:
- SCP-XXXX-A, a rusted entry terminal and attached customs booth located in the sub-basement of the station, as opposed to the main level where other terminals are located.
- SCP-XXXX-B, a group of, to date, 28 separate anomalous human subjects detained after their exit from SCP-XXXX-A.
SCP-XXXX's anomalous properties, outside of its non-standard location, manifest after irregular spans of time ranging from 39 hours to 15 months when SCP-XXXX-A enters what appears to be an activated state. This state is detectable by the spontaneous activation of primitive electric light fixtures within the customs booth of the terminal, despite a lack of connection to outside power sources. How this current is supplied to the fixtures is unknown, as neither wiring or any other visible power supply is apparent.
The active state of SCP-XXXX-A invariably results in the introduction of an instance of SCP-XXXX-B. Approximately 180 seconds after the activation of SCP-XXXX-A, the gated entry of the booth will open, as if to admit an immigrant for processing, and an instance of SCP-XXXX-B will materialize within the booth
