Item #: SCP-4956
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4956 Is to be kept in an underground hanger sized containment unit on Site-04. It is held by 7 mechanical arms that hold it's legs in place. It doesn't not need food of any kind. Reasons for this are unknown. It should however be injected with a neurotoxin that temporarily keeps it's reproductive abilities dormant for approximately 2 months. There is a control unit in the style of an atc tower on one side of the containment unit. In it there are computers and monitors constantly checking it's mental state and vital signs. It also can change SCP-4956's shock levels if it tries to trigger an electromagnetic pulse. There are also 13 cameras on 24-hour surveillance on all areas that the control unit is not in clear vision of. There are two people on around the clock duty (different shifts take over 3 times a day) to make sure SCP-4956 is in a safe state.
Details: It's history is largely unknown however it's age is approximately 28 - 29 million years old.
It is a seven legged entity that is 300 feet tall. It was discovered in the Karakum Desert by a standard issue SCP UAV on December 2nd 2018. Upon discovery it was promptly captured and sedated by a High Level Recovery Response Team. The UAV captured it's way of life and many of its behaviors. It seems to be a hybrid of insect, mollusk and reptile. It's skin texture is slightly slimy and soft, however nearly impenetrable. We discovered this after extracting a small section of torso tissue and putting it through a number of capability tests on Site-04's research module. SCP-4956 only emerges during major dust/sand storms, this is why it is not seen by travellers or natives. It amuses itself by killing local livestock like camels and goats etc. This is the cause of occasion deaths of animals in Turkmenistan after dust/sand storms. It turns out when they were transporting the entity to Site-04, the on-site biologist discovered it was extremely pregnant and was just 11 years away from producing nearly 1,800 offspring. In doing so would definitely lead to the ultimate destruction of the entire middle east before the creatures could be eliminated and contained.
It's way of hiding itself is burrowing. The process involves emerging itself by standing up on all seven legs when it goes up and when it goes back down it uses the first four legs to open up two bucket like claws of the same size as all four of the legs combined and does one massive scoop of the earth and hides itself in there.
The name 'Qum qudayı' is native for 'God Of The Sand' given to it by the biologists studying it in research module.
Whilst a photograph or sketch is not available, it has been said to resemble the 'Cloverfield' Monster and The 'Behemoth' from 'The Mist'.
