ITEM #: SCP-XXXX

OBJECT CLASS: Safe Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a locked steel closet at Site-22 requiring 4 subsequent keys to be inserted to open. Each key is to be kept by a different senior foundation scientist. No less than 2 security personnel should be present while handling the SCP-XXXX. Noone other than authorized D-Class personnel should be allowed to come in contact with the SCP-XXXX No D-Class personnel are to be allowed near the SCP-XXXX at any time due to ethical arguments caused within the foundation personnel. Any D-Class personnel who comes in contact with the SCP-XXXX, are to be given Type-1 amnesiacs, no less than 25mg, and be relocated to a different site immediately.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a grey, hooded cloak of unknown origin and material. It is approximately 150 cantimeters in lenght and 400 grams in weight. Item appears to change its color between white, grey and black depending on who is handling it. Though it is always grey while not interfered with.
Item was recovered in ██.██.████, about 100 kilometers south of the Anatolian dig site number EST-[REDACTED]. Initial testing on determining the material components and origin of SCP-XXXX yielded no results. Furthermore, Dr.██████ doctor in charge of SCP-XXXX's research, refused to continue any and all Foundation experiments shortly after his assignment. When asked, Dr. ██████ replied with; "We are monsters" and refused to comply any further. He was visibly agitated and when pressured to continue the interview, he gave out several D-Class personnel' names saying: "What? Are you going to kill me as well? Just like you killed ███████, ██████, and █████ last week. And hundreds of others before."
How he acquired these specific D-Class personnel' names and termination dates are currently unknown.
Shortly after the interview, Dr. ██████ found dead in his personal chambers. Cause of death is determined to be suicide, single gunshot to the head. Any further investigation of SCP-XXXX by research staff has been suspended and D-Class personnel has been authorized to carry out experiments to determine the anomalous properties of SCP-XXXX.

Mild physical or visual contact with SCP-XXXX appears to invoke conscience and regret of past events. Any subject who puts on SCP-XXXX is observed to fall unconsicious immediately, becoming SCP-XXXX-1 instances. Subjects breathe heavily while sleep-talking and murmuring about past events, often asking forgiveness from an unknown entity. Duration of this state appears to depend on the subjects criminal records, ranging from several minutes to several hours. Any attempts made to wake up or contact the SCP-XXXX-1 instances have been failed even after the SCP-XXXX was removed from the subject.
After waking up, SCP-XXXX-1 appears to have no clear memory of the past several weeks, months or even years. Latest clear memories of SCP-XXXX-1 instances date exactly 30 minutes before the crime that caused the SCP-XXXX-1's sentence.
Upon waking up, SCP-XXXX-1 instances appear confused and frightened, all continuously asking their whereabouts. When asked to calm down and questioned about the experiment, subjects have been observed to give mixed reactions, mostly containing disbelief and mental trauma. Any additional contact with the SCP-XXXX appears to have no further effects.

Addendum #1: All experiments are to be logged in under the title of "Experiment XXXX-e-#"

Addendum #2: Termination of the D-9211 seems to have caused discomfort amongst the Foundation personnel. Violent protests have been organised by a group of Site-22 research staff but they were dispersed before any serious harm was done. They were subsequently given Amnesiacs and relocated, though amnesiacs have proven ineffective against SCP-XXXX's effects, they were sufficient enough to cover up the D-9211's termination.
All Site-22 personnel were instructed to stay clear of the SCP-XXXX's containment chambers. As a result of the initial protests, SCP-XXXX was reclassified as Euclid.

Addendum #3: Testing on non-convict and non-adult subjects have been authorized by the Ethics Committee with the condition of releasing the subjects after the experimentation.
