Wandering Doll

Item#: SCP-4509

Object class: Keter

Special containment procedures: All instances of SCP-4509 are to be immediately terminated according to the instructions presented in Directive T-4509 (see below). Under no circumstances are any instances of SCP-4509 allowed to be kept in any container, due to the inability to properly contain the objects and following risks associated with SCP-4509's behavior. If kept tentatively, for the time needed to prepare the termination procedures, direct eye contact is required at all times by any available personnel.

Description: SCP-4509 takes the form of a doll of any type or brand, usually, though, of hand-made porcelain dolls or ragdolls. Other types observed so-far include baby dolls of brands like ███ ███ and █████ █████, though never an animatronic model, and one instance of a puppet.
While docile and new, they exhibit no special features and are indistinguishable from regular toys. Anomalous behavior appears anywhere between two to five weeks after purchase or coming into possession of SCP-4509. Typically, the primary activity is psychological, indirect and includes trouble sleeping, nightmares and fatigue experienced by owners. Prolonged exposure to SCP-4509 significantly worsens mental health and is ensured to cause any of the following disorders and/or illnesses: generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, depression, bipolar disorder, mania, severe paranoia, schizophrenia, insomnia, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and specific phobias. Wandering follows, starting about a week after the first signs. During this period, SCP-4509 will "wander" around its territory (a house, mansion or a farm) by unknown means of some sort of teleportation.
