Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5168 is to be kept in a 5m by 5m room at all times. 2 guards must guard the entrance to stop any unauthorised personnel from entering. Any and all files regarding SCP-5168 must be stored on a secure server with available backups that can be accessed by the Foundation. only personnel with security clearance of 3 or over are allowed to access SCP-5168's containment chamber. If Personnel enter SCP-5168's containment chamber, at no point shall the object be viewed
Description: SCP-5168 is an art canvas that appears to be blank once viewed from a camera or from another room, but once a living subject has entered the same room as the object. The subject will see a painted image of a person dying in different ways. The way they die varies between subjects Nothing will happen to the subject until they have left the room. Subjects have reported a few images before they disappeared.
- Drowning
- Falling
- Burning
- Stabbed
- Freezing
- Poisoned
- Infection
- and more.
Once the subject has left the room, The subject will disappear at an instant. It is currently unknown if the subject appears anywhere else and whether or not the location has anything to do with the viewed image.
Addendum: Researcher ████ has presumably viewed SCP-5168 after his disappearance after leaving SCP-5168's containment chamber. it is unknown where they went and all attempts of communication with the researcher have failed.
Recorded Experiment: Two D-class personnel have been told to enter SCP-5168's containment chamber. Once they entered the chamber, they were asked to describe what was on the canvas. the first subject described a figure Drowning whilst the other subject had described a person freezing to death. Once the first subject had left the cell, the second subject had said he had disappeared "In the blink of an eye". Once the second subject left the room, all communications ceased and the guards had said that nobody had ever left the room.
