Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a room cooled to temperatures below 223°K. The walls, floor and ceiling of the room must be made of a reflective metal surface. This is to ensure that the specimen is contained and has not escaped the cell.
The specimen will attempt to claw at the walls to hide itself, and there is a possibility that it may damage the cooling system in the process. Multiple cells of a similar structure are required as a contingency for when this specimen breaches its containment, as well as for when the specimen's cell requires maintenance.
Description:
SCP-XXXX is not visible to the naked eye. Instead, it must be observed through reflective surfaces. Its movements are audible, however. Interestingly enough, its reflection will not appear in any attempts to photograph or record video footage showing the specimen in any way.
When observed through a reflection, the specimen resembles a humanoid with smooth black skin. Its height measures approximately 192 cm. The only feature on this specimen's body is a mouth in the middle of its head. It possesses prominent incisors, indicating the specimen’s carnivorous diet.
Despite its humanoid appearance, SCP-XXXX is animalistic in behavior. It is reported to attack by biting into its victim’s neck, tearing at their windpipe and letting them suffocate. It will normally wait for the victim to die, but if its hunger outpaces its patience, it will begin eating the victim while they are still alive.
It has been confirmed that this specimen is capable of phasing through most materials, though it cannot phase through living animals or people. If its body is sufficiently cooled, however, this phasing ability is nullified.
Addendum:
Some scientists in the Foundation, such as Dr. [████████], have pushed for the reclassification of SCP-XXXX into the Thaumiel class, since the specimen’s aggression can be directed at anything, including other specimens. The official reclassification is still a consideration among many SCP Foundation agents, but its classification remains Keter for the time being.
Some have even suggested that it could be used in the extermination of SCP-682, but this possibility has been disregarded due to the uncertainties that come with attempting to turn SCP-XXXX and SCP-682 against each other.
