Item#: SCP-4128
Object Class: Euclid Safe (See Addendum 4128-C)
Special Containment Procedures: The territory SCP-4128 covers is to be contained via motion detectors set at a 3 mile radius around its perimeter. All trails leading into the territory are to be shut down, and no new trails are to be developed. A fence is to be maintained at a 5 mile radius around the containment site and inspected once every seven days. Signs must be posted every 1,000 feet around the circumference and must remain clearly visible.
Any attempts to enter SCP-4128’s territory are to be responded to by MTF- Epsilon 6. MTF-Epsilon 6 is to dress as park rangers and remove trespassers under the guise of the containment area being a wildlife refuge, should the trespassers be uncooperative, they are to be non-lethally subdued and given Class B amnestics. Any person caught staying overnight in the containment area is to immediately be extracted VIA Helicopter and given Class B amnestics.
Tranquilizers have had no effect on SCP-4128, and it has been known to avoid any attempts at capture. Therefore SCP-4128 is currently unable to be relocated from its territory, however, it has shown no signs of having any desire to leave.
Any civilian who becomes marked by SCP-4128 is to be immediately relocated at least 50km from SCP-4128’s territory. Class B amnestics will then be administered in order to ensure the target does not return out of curiosity.
SCP-4128 does not mark targets if they witness the ritual through a camera, therefore observation is to be done strictly through foundation drones or cameras given to expedition crews. Any foundation personnel who are marked must be escorted at least beyond the fence of SCP-4128's territory. So long as they do not re-enter the containment area they will be safe from SCP-4128's effects.
SCP-4128 is not to be interrupted during the ritual or hunting phase. Any person who witnesses SCP-4128 performing its ritual must be escorted off site immediately.
Description: SCP-4128 is a humanoid entity, approximately 2 meters tall, Its body is covered with rough patches of hair. SCP-4128’s head is shaped similarly to Ursus arctos horribilis1, however, the mouth is slightly wider than a normal member of its species. It normally covers itself with pelts, which have been observed to vary between sightings.
When an individual or group spends the night in SCP-4128’s territory one individual will be randomly (See Addendum 4128-A) “marked” by SCP-4128. The marking process is ritualistic and takes no more than a few minutes. During this process SCP-4128 will carefully approach the shelter and begin to cut into its palm. SCP-4128’s blood (Henceforth known as SCP-4128-1) has powerful sedative properties, and can cause unconsciousness in a radius of 12 meters on average (this number can vary due to atmospheric conditions and the amount of blood spilled). SCP-4128 will then begin to draw its marking on the tent. The target (Henceforth known as SCP-4128-2) will not awake during this procedure.
In smaller doses, SCP-4128-1 is capable of inducing paralysis. SCP-4128 will often induce bleeding in order to subdue anyone nearby so that it may complete its rituals undisturbed. Current investigation into medical uses for SCP-4128-B is ongoing.
The next day, SCP-4128-2 will experience extreme amounts of unease. No treatments have been able to calm the target down. SCP-4128 will follow its target throughout the day. It uses a memetic camouflage that causes it to be overlooked by the observer. In addition, its hair has been shown to change color depending on the season, helping it blend in to its environment. SCP-4128 may occasionally reveal itself to SCP-4128-2, but only from long distances (the most common instances have been across fields and on neighboring hills). Any other persons with SCP-4128-2 will not be able to observe SCP-4128. Although cameras can pick up SCP-4128, anyone who is not the target or trained in memetics will be unable to perceive SCP-4128.
SCP-4128 will follow the group unless they exit its territory, in which case SCP-4128-2 will be considered free from the effects of SCP-4128. However, if SCP-4128-2 reenters the territory, they will once again be stalked by SCP-4128.
After the sun sets, SCP-4128 will begin producing vocalizations in order to confuse and draw away any members of SCP-4128-2’s group. This is considered to be its hunting phase. During the hunting phase SCP-4128-2 is to be considered lost and no rescue attempts are to be made.
Vocalizations only occur at night, and often reach up to 115 decibels. Witnesses described the vocalizations as maniacal and blood curdling. Most accounts recall the vocalizations sounding like the mix of a wolf’s howl and human cackling. Any entity within 5km will experience its cognitohazard effects, including paranoia, hysteria, and anxiety. Any non-targets exposed to vocalizations will attempt to pursue the origin of the sound, however, often end they up travelling in random and unrelated directions.
The vocalizations occur three times. The first vocalization will induce mild paranoia, and most group members will likely refuse to leave their shelter or campfire. After a few minutes have passed, SCP-4128 will scream once again, this time inciting hysteria and more intense paranoia. Persons with SCP-4128-2 will attempt to seek out the source of the noise, but often travel the wrong direction and become disoriented. Meanwhile SCP-4128-2 will confine themselves to whatever shelter they have.
The third and final vocalization is not capable of being perceived by anyone who has heard the last two, and is thought to be a hunting call. At this point SCP-4128 will approach the shelter and begin to mark the remaining walls. These markings will sedate SCP-4128-2 (See Addendum 4128-B), and SCP-4128 will begin the ritual.
SCP-4128 will enter the shelter of SCP-4128-2, no material has been able to resist entry by SCP-4128, including Steel, Titanium, and [Redacted]. SCP-4128 prefers to enter through a door, however, if no door is present, SCP-4128 will simply manifest inside SCP-4128-2’s shelter. SCP-4128 will begin carving its mark into SCP-4128-2, often amputating limbs in the process. SCP-4128-2 will not awaken while this ritual is performed.
Should SCP-4128 be observed during the ritual, but not interrupted, it will mark one random (See Addendum 4128-A)person who was present to witness the event, even if they were not present during the entire event. SCP-4128 will mark the new SCP-4128-2 by wiping SCP-4128-1 on its face. If the new SCP-4128-2 flees before they are marked they will still be hunted and feel the same symptoms as one normally would during the stalking phase. Should a witness attempt to interrupt SCP-4128 during the ritual, they will be subdued with SCP-4128-1. SCP-4128 has never been shown to kill anyone in self defense, nor has it been shown to kill more than one SCP-4128-2, implying SCP-4128 only kills for ritualistic sake.
Once finished killing SCP-4128-2, SCP-4128 will [Data Expunged] SCP-4128. To date no remains of SCP-4128-2 have ever been recovered.

__Test A - Date██/██/████
Subject: D-1029
Procedure: D-1029 was ordered to spend two nights in SCP-4128's territory.
Results:D-1029 was marked, stalked, and killed by SCP-4128 over the course of two days and two nights.
Analysis: This was to establish a control, SCP-4128 behaves as predicted.
__Test B - Date██/██/████
Subject:One (1) species of deer native to the region fitted with a tracker.
Procedure:The deer was released into the containment area and monitored by GPS tracking. Foundation drones monitored the deer for two hours once every day.
Results:Deer was not targeted by SCP-4128, but was eventually killed by a coyote.
Analysis:It looks like SCP-4128 doesn't target animals like it does humans, however the pelts we've seen it wearing suggests that it does (at some point) target animals.
__Test C - Date██/██/████
Subjects: Eight (8) species of deer native to the region fitted with trackers
Procedure: The deer were released into the containment area at the same location and monitored by GPS tracking. Foundation drones monitored each deer for two hours once every day.
Results: Five deer were killed by SCP-4128 over the course of two months.
Analysis:It looks like SCP-4128 will hunt animals as a food source, albeit conservatively.
__Test D - Date██/██/████
Subjects:D-1580 and One (1) species of deer native to the region.
Procedure: D-1580 is to camp in the containment area for two nights, the deer is to be fitted with a tracker and be checked on by foundation drones once per day.
Results:D-1580 killed on the second night. The deer was never hunted and is still alive in the containment zone to this day.
Analysis:SCP-4128 seemed to favor targeting the Human.
__Test E - Date██/██/████
Subjects: D-1581, D-1607, D-1695, D-7601, and four (4) deer native to the region
Procedure:Each D-Class is to camp in the containment area for two nights, and the deer was fitted with a tracker and checked on by foundation drones daily.
Results: D-1607 was killed on the first night, D-7601 was killed on the second, D-1581 the third, and D-1695 on the fourth, two deer were killed over the span of the next week.
Analysis: SCP-4128 will always target a human over any animal, but seems to kill an animal if it is introduced in excess.
__Test F - Date██/██/████
Subject: D-1034, One (1) species of coyote, and one (1) non-native species of dog (specifically a German Shepard).
Procedure: D-1034 was ordered to spend two nights in SCP-4128's territory, both animals were fitted with trackers and checked once a day by foundation drones.
Results:D-1034 was killed by SCP-4128, followed by the Dog. The coyote was not harmed by SCP-4128
Analysis: SCP-4128 seems to also target any non-native animals, but only after all humans are killed or removed.
Addendum: 4128-A
During a test of SCP-4128’s behaviors, two D-Class (D-2206, D-2207) were asked to litter, cut down trees, and hunt wildlife. SCP-4128 marked D-2206 the first night, and marked D-2207 the second. The other two D-Class (D-2208, D-2209) were not marked either night.
Addendum: 4128-B
During the events of Addendum 4128-1 SCP-4128 bled slightly less on the tent than normal. Vital signs from D-2206 suggests he was awake while the ritual was performed, albeit paralyzed. This suggests SCP-4128 putting SCP-4128A asleep during the ritual is may be something it does as an act of mercy for SCP-4128A
Addendum: 4128-C
During a routine inspection of perimeter fencing, a 2' hole was found in the fence. Foundation maintenance crews left to pick up repair supplies, however when they returned the hole had been covered with several tree branches lashed together. Similar incidents have occurred, suggesting SCP-4128 not only is intelligent, but also has no desire to escape or allow entry.
