Item #: SCP-4750
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4750 is to be housed in a 10m³ containment chamber at Site-██. This chamber is to be comprised of two layers. The first layer is to be 4 inches of high density foam that encompasses the floor, walls, and roof of the chamber. The second layer is to be 4.5 inches of steel. Four entrances to this chamber should be present; each being on a different side of the room so as to prevent SCP-4750 from knowing which door guards will use. Any bodily fluids produced by SCP-4750 are to be collected, tested on, and then summarily incinerated. Any equipment that comes into contact with bodily fluids is to be considered contaminated and disposed of in the same way as bodily fluids. Ashes resulting from incineration are to be bleached and sealed a minimum of 10m underground. SCP-4750 is to be bound in a padded straight-jacket at all times and is to be fed by security personnel. SCP-4750 is not to be allowed near any object that could result in lesions, bruising, or any other form of physical harm. As of 08/25/████ no lethal weapons are allowed within 15m of SCP-4750's containment; security personnel are to use purely nonlethal methods of neutralization such as aerosolized anesthetics, electrical impulses, or temporary oxygen deprivation. SCP-4750 is not to be allowed near any SCP's that relate to bodily fluids or viral infections (E.g. SCP-3665 and SCP-3020 respectively). The result of SCP-4750 being exposed to anomalies of this nature is potentially catastrophic as an evolution in the anomaly at this time would yield unpredictable results.
Description: SCP-4750 is currently only known to exist in two creatures as of 11/01/████. Hosts of SCP-4750 are referred to as SCP-4750-1. Currently SCP-4750 is believed to be either a contagious mutation or anomalous virus that effects the host in a multitude of ways. The SCP is highly contagious with a 72% chance of infection with blood to skin contact and 100% chance of infection when tainted blood enters the body. SCP-4750 advances in 4 5 Stages and after initial contact the host is to be considered lost. In the Stage 1 the host's blood begins to take on on a crystalline structure while maintaining its liquid state. The crystalline structure of the blood causes considerable distress to the host who will, in 97% of cases, attempt to scratch open their veins to release the blood. In Stage 2the skin of the subject takes on a consistency similar to tissue paper allowing the host to cause bleeding easier. Stage 2 host's urges to cause self-harm increase drastically and out of the 3% of Stage 1 hosts that did not exhibit an urge to cause self-harm only 5% of them will be able to resist self-harm after reaching Stage 2. Stage 3 causes sharp calcified growths to begin protruding from the host's hands. Once again this mutation seems to be solely for the purpose of allowing easier self-harm. Only 300 test subjects out of the ████ exposed to SCP-4750 have progressed to Stage 4. Stage 4 of the infection causes any blood that leaves the subjects body to take on one of three separate anomalous properties. (1) Approximately 90% of host blood will form into large crystalline structures capable of puncturing steal; the largest structure observed to date was 2.3m long and 1.5cm wide. (2) Approximately 9% of host's blood will aerosolize into an anomalously colorless and odorless gas; this gas has shown to be moderately corrosive and has exhibited a slight anesthetic effect. (3) The final property observed was in one individual whose blood animated upon leaving the body instances formed in this way were referred to as SCP-4750-2. SCP-4750-2 has proven to be highly hostile towards the any hosts of SCP-4750 in the vicinity, however the animated instance will not attack the host that produced it. Only one subject has proceeded to Stage 5 since testing began, after Stage 5 was observed SCP-4750 was changed to Keter status. Stage 5 effects can be viewed with Level 4 clearance in SCP-4750 Addendum 4750-G.
Addendum 4750-G
Multiple tests are not included in this Addendum. This is not a comprehensive list of all testing that has occurred regarding SCP-4750. This list exists solely to detail the events that lead to Stage 5 being discovered.
Test 1 - 03/19/19██
Subject: D-475009
Procedure: D-475009 is placed in front of SCP-4750-1-19 and told to make a small incision on the SCP's arm
Results: Approximately 7 drops of blood can be seen making contact with D-475009. In 3 hours D-475009 reports heart pain and irritation in his wrists. D-475009 terminated and incinerated.
Analysis: It appears that SCP-4750 does not need to enter the body to infect a host. From now on biohazard precautions should be practiced when experimenting on SCP-4750.
Test 17 - 05/23/20██
Subject: D-4750189
Procedure: The D class test subject was instructed to consume the blood of SCP-4750-1-87
Results: D-4750189 begins to seize after consuming the blood.Within 37 minutes D-4750189's pulse ceased and he was determined to be deceased. While being transferred to the disposal chamber D-4750189 suddenly began bleeding from multiple bodily openings including his eyes, ears, and facial pores. Shortly thereafter D-4750189 reanimated and attacked the attending security team. This caused Incident 4750-9 and resulted in the death of ███ security personnel, ██ researchers, and the contamination of over 60% of Site-██'s equipment.
Analysis: Following Incident 4750-9 D-4750189 proved immune to most physical damage due to the crystallization of bodily fluids into a form of armor. This "armor" has proven resistant to bullets, surgical blades, and temperatures of up to ██ degrees Celsius. The reason for D-4750189 skipping Stages 1-4 of infection is unknown as is the reason behind D-4750189 progressing to an unseen stage of infection.
Addendum 4750-T
Approximately 3 months after Incident 4750-9 Site-██ was wiped out by SCP-4750. It is unknown as to what caused the containment breach however it is known that Senior Researcher ██████████ and D-4750189 were unaccounted for. A Foundation MTF captured Senior Researcher ██████████ 19 miles away from Site-██. The researcher had not yet reached civilization and was contained once again. The whereabouts of D-4750189 are as of 10/25/████ unknown.
