Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: US Route ██ SCP-XXXX is kept in is to be under surveillance at all times. Any unauthorized vehicles are to be rerouted to a detour by foundation personnel. Any trespassers are to be detained and questioned.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a 10 meter tall McDonald's pole with the base made out of steel and the logo out of hard plastic illuminated by neon lights found within the plastic. Underneath the iconic golden arcs, there is a sign that reads "Just 30 miles away!". The only physical anomaly SCP-XXXX has is the lack of power source needed to light the arcs.

Although it appears as a standard sign, SCP-XXXX's ability activates once someone stares at it at a necessary proximity of 8 meters. If the person has hunger at the time of exposure, they will be filled with a sensation of immediate satisfaction from eating what is described as, "a big mac with a side of fries and a small soda". After

Further research reveals that the sensation is merely in the mind of the exposed; SCP-XXXX does not manipulate any physical matter whatsoever. As there is no substance to the effects of SCP-XXXX, if a person were to constantly be in the presence of SCP-XXXX, then the person will die of thirst or starvation.

Depending on the size of a person exposed to SCP-XXXX, different results may occur. If the person is around or above 65 kilograms then the person will feel fully fed and satisfied. If the person is between 42 kilograms and 65 kilograms they will feel overstuffed and slightly uncomfortable but show no more negative effects. Anyone below 42 kilograms will have a severe negative reaction to SCP-XXXX and begin to choke, vomit, and gag, although nothing will come out and must wait for the effect to wear off.

Local newspapers reveal that the pole was erected in 1957 following the enfranchisement of the McDonald's brand. At the time, the restaurant chain had extensive competition by smaller diners in small towns along highway ██ as the only McDonald's in the area was found within the city and tourists ate at the smaller establishments before entering the city limits. However many of these businesses would close down soon after the pole's construction and leave highway ██ empty and unused and leaving SCP-XXXX abandoned.

SCP-XXXX was discovered on highway ██, ██ kilometers from █████████, Nevada after local law enforcement reported a large amount of homeless found dead of thirst around SCP-XXXX. Survivors were placed in custody and the Foundation were contacted by the higher officials of the police department. All low rank officers at the scene were administered Class-B amnestics and higher rank officials signed non-disclosure agreements. Survivors were promptly questioned by the foundation, many of whom claimed that they were attracted by a friend who told them of a "magical feeding post".

Although removal of the post has been hypothesized as a standard extradition, it has been met by difficulty from lawyer Mr. █████████ threatening legal action. To avoid any unnecessary exposure of the matter to the public, the Foundation must adhere to the legal restrictions. It is unknown if Mr. █████████ has any direct connection to the McDonald's Corporation or what their motives are, but the claims prevent the Foundation from foregoing with removal. At the current, the Foundation legal department is appealing to the state of Nevada to get SCP-XXXX legally removed as soon as possible.
