Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5045 is to be stored in a cool and dry place, preferably away from bright light. Item is not to be removed from containment without written permission of personnel with Level 3 clearance or higher.

Description: SCP-5045 is a small plastic can with "Scatman's Pills" written in bright pink on the outer surface. SCP-5045 was discovered on 19/6/201█, United Kingdom, Birmingham, in an abandoned apartment in the █████████ ████ Hotel. SCP-5045 contains ninety-six (96) white pills, at the time of writing. When taken orally, SCP-5045 immediately induces the subject into a state of pure euphoria, in which the subject yells out random words and sentences, even appearing to sing. The drugged state usually lasts from twenty (20) to twenty-five (25) minutes, after which the subject loses their consciousness and is induced into a state of deep dreaming, with an overly cheerful grin on their face. The dreaming state lasts from 5 (five) to 19 (nineteen) minutes, after which the subject returns to consciousness and shortly after induced into a stroke.

Subjects whom have survived the stroke have reported to lucid dream wandering an empty Earth-like world with varying colour hues changing at random periods of time. Subjects affected by SCP-5045 experience melancholy after the dream state, craving more of the pills without a worry of the consequences. Subjects brought back from the state of death describe being trapped in the world they experienced from SCP-5045, endlessly wandering the world without any thought.¹
