Item #: SCP-4817

Object Class: Pending Classification

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4817 is to be surrounded by a wall 100 meters away from the cave entrance. All civilians are to redirected under the pretense that Site-██ is a weapons testing facility. Civilians who continue to attempt entry are to be intercepted, amnesticized and released as per BSP (Blind Spot Protocol).

Description: SCP-4817 is the area within the ██████ Cave, █████████. The cave itself has an interior area of approximately 20km2 and a height of 1km. Without anomalous properties, the interior environment is extremely similar to the ███████ temperate rainforests.

SCP-4817 is the environment within the ██████ cave, which is entirely made of water. This also includes the ground, which is solid semi-solid. It is noted that entities within SCP-4817 can emerge from the ground whenever required, which poses a significant risk to manned expedition crews. The risk is compounded further as the "ground" water is extremely murky. Trees within SCP-4817, while being made from water, appear to be distinct from the ground and other "trees". All plant-life are capable of growth, albeit extremely stunted, by slowly pulling up water from beneath the surface. The tallest tree has grown to be approximately 300 meters.

SCP-4817 functions almost exactly as a standard underwater environment. Fish appear to be adapted for faster swim speeds and almost universally have aerodynamic forms. Main hunting behaviors involve launching from "trees" or the various spheres of water that float with no known cause. Light is generated by bioluminescent organisms known as S.002, which also act as the ecosystem's producers.

SCP-4817 appears to be able to generate a limitless amount of water, originating from a yet unspecified source point. No water generated by SCP-4817 can leave the cave which contains SCP-4817.
