Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP XXXX is contained within a standard cell with a single small table in the center that it can be placed upon. The only modifications to this cell are light studio sound dampening foam on the walls, after the incident resulting from the destruction of the second instance of SCP XXXX. This cell does not require any guards, nor does it require any special action other than the occasional entry to confirm that SCP XXXX is alone. The cell is to be locked with standard equipment as well as lit with the single light above the table in the cell. This light is not to be turned off.
Description: SCP XXXX is a 2.26 kg bucket of a stain removing laundry detergent that has gained sentience. It is a powdered solution of sodium percarbonate, sodium carbonate and emotion. SCP XXXX is unable to communicate vocally, however is able to produce a low humming sound that affects any personnel adjacent to it. This auditory event is easily avoided with minor sound dampening and is not harmful. SCP XXXX was first discovered by Foundation staff when they were alerted to it on a redacted social media site. It was secured and brought in for testing without any issue. Those that were exposed to SCP XXXX were quickly given Class F amnestics, as multiple citizens were infected with this instance of SCP XXXX, and the Foundation needed many delivery methods for the amnestics due to the nature of the infection. This event stands as one of the tests for Class F amnestics and has been brought to the Ethics Committee as evidence of successful human trials.
Addendum: --SCP XXXXwas considered to be classified as Euclid after the interview with Dr. █████ and his reaction to experiencing the auditory event. The result of this was unpredictable and came as a shock to the researchers who have studied the first instance of SCP XXXX. This reaction is still not confirmed as a direct result of the auditory event. After Dr. █████ was committed to cell [redacted] for observation he was designated class Euclid, thus removing the classification from SCP XXXX until further notice as dictated by O5 personnel
Addendum: Personnel that have observed and been in the presence of SCP XXXX claim to feel a sense of comfort emanating from this instance. Most claim it is a subtle feeling, however many D class have claimed a stronger feeling of acceptance. D-643-88791 claimed, “It cares” and mumbled something about the first instance being, “the only time I’ve ever felt true love” after their encounter with SCP XXXX. Before Dr. █████ engaged in interview 029 with the first and second instances he stated that he also felt this effect. Dr. █████ was given the opportunity to inspect and observe SCP XXXX both inside and outside testing chambers before Interview 029 and reported that this effect grew stronger each experiment. This may be the cause for his seemingly random mental breakdown and his ██████████ ████ causing him to be committed to cell [redacted] for further testing. The reason for this feeling is unknown, and simply impossible to test.
Interview Log 029: The following in a transcript of an interview held with the first instance of SCP XXXX.
Date: █████
Interviewer: Dr. █████
Interviewee: SCP XXXX
Notes: SCP XXXX is the first instance of itself in this interview. During the interview, a second instance of SCP XXXX materialized next to the first instance and was immediately destroyed in the presence of the first instance in order to provoke a reaction.
SCP XXXX is placed on a small table, while Dr. █████ is sitting in a chair directly across from it.
Dr. █████: Please state your name.
SCP XXXX: [silence]
Dr. █████: No response is heard, but I sense acknowledgement. Do you know where you are?
SCP XXXX: [silence]
Dr. █████: Do you know who I am?
SCP XXXX: [silence]
Dr. █████: Do you know who YOU are?
SCP XXXX: [silence]
Dr. █████: I am still not HEARING any form of response, but still sense some form of acknowledgement. Will make a note of this in the interview log. Are you aware that you are being observed and studied?
SCP XXXX: [silence]
At this moment, a second instance of oxiclean materializes to the left of the first instance with no reaction.
Dr. █████: Can you acknowledge this second Oxiclean?
SCP XXXX: [silence]
Dr. █████: Note that there are now two instances of sentient oxiclean. We will perform a test on the second instance in an attempt to provoke a reaction from the first instance.
At this moment a guard is brought into the containment room and made to drop the second instance on the ground, spilling the contents of the tub.
SCP XXXX: [silence]
Dr. █████: No reaction, just as predicted. Proceed with test two.
A second guard enters the containment room with a vacuum and proceeds to dispose of the second oxiclean’s powder.
SCP XXXX: [silence]
After the second guard leaves the containment room, a very low double frequency pitch is heard, similar to that of a mel meter, causing Dr. █████ to show signs of discomfort, grabbing his head.
Dr. █████: What is that? Is that you? Is this a result of our previous actions?
SCP XXXX: [silence]
Dr. █████: We’re sorry, please stop.
SCP XXXX: [silence]
The low humming stops after Dr. █████ apologizes.
Dr. [REDACTED]: Thank you. I will end our session here.
Dr. █████ leaves the containment room and SCP XXXX is brought back to it’s secure cell. Dr. █████ is sent to medical bay 55c for examination and debriefing.
[END LOG]
1. A note written by Dr. █████ after his interview with the first instance of SCP XXXX:
It’s there for you
It cares
It is sentient
I am feeble and weak
I no longer desire sentience
