Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a furnished two (2) room cell with a bathroom and a separate cell of the same set-up adjacent from it to accommodate instances of SCP-XXXX-2. SCP-XXXX is allowed to leave its cell if accompanied by at least one (1) guard. Any items requested by SCP-XXXX must be approved by a level two or higher personnel. SCP-XXXX is allowed one, two-hour show a week that is open to any off-duty personnel. New tricks developed by SCP-XXXX are to be approved by a level 2 or higher personnel before it is permitted to preform them.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a performing magician under the alias James Damasc regardless of the current instances gender but still prefers to be called by the appropriate gender titles (I.e. Miss, Mister). SCP-XXXX’s height, weight, age, and personality vary with each instance but each display a very theatrical manner of speech.
SCP-XXXX itself is comprised of three parts, a red silken top hat and tailcoat, and a white, shovel-blade shaped porcelain mask with a black smile painted on it. All three items are impervious to any sort of damage. Despite the masks lack of eyeholes, the subject can still see through it as if it did. After the initial switch of hosts however, these items become nothing more than costume pieces as SCP-XXXX prefers to wear other clothing outside of performances, typically 1920’s style male clothing, and still displays the same characteristics.
Instances of SCP-XXXX have the ability to materialise any bladed weapon from thin air instantaneously and can control its movement when thrown. The blades are made from pattern-welded steel in a ‘star’ pattern and tests have revealed that that they are forged from 1075 and 1520 high-carbon steels along with an unknown black metallic material.
After no less than one year of SCP-XXXX changing hosts, the current instance will approach a person at random, often after a performance, and ask them to be its apprentice. When questioned how SCP-XXXX decides who to ask, it claims it can ‘see the potential in their eyes’. All subjects chosen, have had an interest in show business, particularly in magic. Subjects that accept its proposal become an instance SCP-XXXX-2, after which SCP-XXXX will cease preforming for approximately one (1) month to train its apprentice before resuming with the new instance of SCP-XXXX-2 as its personal assistant, displaying the same abilities as SCP-XXXX.
SCP-XXXX does not allow the foundation to record its training sessions in any manner and attempts to record them through use of hidden cameras, microphones, and any other method of observing in secret has resulted in the destruction of said equipment as SCP-XXXX seems acutely aware of the location of any devices and promptly renders them inoperable before commencing.
SCP-XXXX changes hosts when the current instance expires and the current instance of SCP-XXXX-2 acquires the mask and clothing. The time between changes can vary widely from less than one (1) year, to the natural end of the current instance.
