Event Summary: On 06/10/2020 at 11.45 AM, a large data breach occurred in the Low-risk servers of site-X. While the specifics of the event are still being researched no losses in data have been observed. However, Foundation personnel have detected multiple newly added and changed files, these being temporarily classified as SCP-XXXX until more research has been done.

These files are currently being researched by Dr. Mandalay along with his assistant researchers. Credentials have been provided to them, and unauthorized access will result in the aforementioned forms of punishment.

Special Containment Procedures: As the true nature of SCP-XXXX is unknown, it is believed to be uncontainable in the long term. However, it is able to be contained in low-risk Storage unit 1892-B between manifestation events.

All personnel who encounter SCP-XXXX are advised to report it to site command and await further instructions. As of 04/05/2020, all personnel at site-X have been given clearance codes for SCP-XXXX's file and briefings by dr. Mandalay on the nature of SCP-XXXX and how to handle a manifestation event.

When any personnel encounter SCP-XXXX, they are highly advised not to open it unless given explicit orders by personnel with site command clearance or above.

Description: SCP is a white envelope, dated 1942. The envelope itself is non-anomalous, with the exception of it missing a stamp and return address. The address listed on the envelope is 97 guild street, London, and is adressed to Maria J. Morton.

SCP-XXXX randomly manifests on the 20th of January in foundation custody with a note attatched to it, which will have text on it describing a will to be opened; most often it is ''Please read; urgent''. The contents of SCP-XXXX are still unknown to this day.

Discovery: SCP-XXXX was discovered on 20/01/2017, when it appeared on the desk of assistent researcher Reginald at Site-X. It was reported to his senior researcher Mandalay, who filed it as an anomalous item and stored it in low-risk storage unit 1892-B at Site-X. When it escaped containment and reappeared at senior researcher's Mandalay's desk, he filed a report to site command, who gave clearance to classify it as an SCP.

Event Description: On 08/09/2020, senior researcher Mandaly was given clearance by site command to open SCP-XXXX after research concluded that it didn't contain any cognito- or memetic hazards. The transciption of the opening of the letter can be found in addendum XXXX-B.

Foreword: In this test, SCP-XXXX was opened by a D-class subject. Two other researchers, Dr. Reginald and Dr. Indiana, were on site but did not speak with the test subject.

D-3491: Yeah, let's just get this over with.
Mandalay: Alright, you see that letter in front of you? Open it.
Silence
Mandalay: D-3491, do y-
D-3491: Yeah, I hear you. I just- It isn't going to explode or anything, right?
Mandalay: As far as we know, no. Now open it. We don't have all day.
D-3491: Yeez, alright, alright. [Explitive], man, just give me some time.
SCP-XXXX is opened
Mandalay: D-3491, take the contents out of the letter.

D-3491 reaches out with his arm, then turns the letter upside-down
