Item #: SCP-XXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-XXX is to be contained in a 8m x 5m x 3m humanoid containment cell in Site-17 with a heat lamp that would keep the average temperature at about 40.5°C (105°F). About thrice a year, SCP-XXX must go through molting. It is very aggressive during this period, and no personnel should interact with it while it goes through the process. If SCP-XXX is seen molting without any cell reinforcements, report to Level 3 or higher personnel for assistance. SCP-XXX is allowed access to a small pond in its cell if behaviour is acceptable, A consistent diet of freshwater fish and fruit is to be provided thrice a day. SCP-XXX has requested items to be added to its cell. Below is a full list:

• A female Asian Water Monitor (Note: This was requested during the average Water Monitor’s mating season) [Denied]
• Additional fish to the pond [Denied]
• A computer [Denied]
• The second book of series “The Hunger Games” [Granted]
• A packet of Marijuana [Denied]
• Two hamsters, “Definitely not for arena battles” [Denied]
• A sunning rock [Granted]

Description:
SCP-XXX is a male reptilian humanoid approximately 27 years old, 195cm (6’4”) tall and 75kg (165 lbs), closely resembling Varanus salvator, or the Asian Water Monitor. It is a piscivore, but sometimes requires fruit for digestion. It is overall very cooperative with the Foundation, if not sometimes a little distant. It was given the nickname “Mark” by Agent █████ ██, but personnel are advised not to refer to it by such. SCP-XXX is fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese, but prefers communicating in the latter. SCP-XXX does not have any anomalous properties other than its physical traits, thus minimum containment procedures are required. It is aware of its appearance, but simply brushes it off as a “Crack in the shell or something”,

Additional Notes:
SCP-XXX was discovered on █\█\██, in ████, Indonesia, when locals reported seeing a “River Monster”. SCP-XXX was very docile when being contained, most possibly due to drugs found under a tree next to said river.
