SCP-BLANK'S SERVERS

Special Containment Procedures: The formal containment of SCP-BLANK is currently pending the construction of a chamber capable of ensuring the safety of SCP-BLANK'S servers. The location of this chamber will be constructed at one of the following sites: 43,19,83, and ████. Once the pending construction is finished, a approved set of containment procedures will be enscribed as long as SCP-BLANK-1 has not seized control. Current containment procedure of SCP-BLANK-1 is the following: SCP-BLANK-1 will be kept in its original 10x10 meter bunker situated in █████████ national park. Upon any moving of the main System (even excluding the monitor), the logistics team should be sure its not within 2000 kilometers of SCP-████. At any point if a subject try's to help SCP-BLANK-1, a onsite agent shall terminate them, no matter their reputation or level.

Discovery: SCP-BLANK was discovered when an agent posed as a local sheriff heard a sound similar to the strum of the ██████ that identifies ███████. The origin of this sound was never found and the agent went through psychological testing. MTF U-13 was dispatched once the agent confirmed a sighting of the seal. An MTF agent deducted that the hole matches the length of the seal. Once the steel door was opened and the unit confirmed no hostiles, they presumed it was safe to enter the bunker fully.

The last recorded radio communication from MTF U-13 was agent Howard ██████ whispering "We secure and contain so much, but this time we need the protection.". Soon after 6 gunshots were heard and an evac team was dispatched. Upon arrival, each agent had a bullet in their head and was confirmed KIA.

SCP-BLANK-1 was found during the first trial of testing under Senior Researcher ████████. A D-CLASS subject went close to the monitor after entering and the humanoid figure appeared on the screen. The only close to being understood thing SCP-BLANK-1 said was what is presumed to be Japanese mumbling. The D-CLASS subject seemed to understand and showed physical signs of agreeance. The subject reached for the button aside the monitor even though told not to multiple times. Amnestics were applied to the subject and more safety procedures to prevent this are awaiting.

As of November 17th, 20██ SCP-BLANK is being kept securely and testing is active. All approvals for SCP-BLANK are awaiting approval. There have been no signs or discoveries of ways to nullify or stop the anomalous properties of SCP-BLANK-1. Only the basic information is understood about SCP-BLANK and SCP-BLANK-1. Constant camera surveillance and a research outpost have been added to the procedures.

Description: SCP-BLANK is a semi-industrial-sized machine made by Dr.Wondertainment similar to the ones manufactured in the 1980's era. SCP-BLANK is situated in a bunker outside of ████████, Wyoming. Access to the machine is only possible via a computer store closed in the early 2000s. Upon entering the management office a seal of the official Dr.Wondertainment logo needs to be inserted into the 35-centimeter hole located atop a wood deck. Once this seal is inserted, a steel door opens on the floor with 15 stairs leading down to a basement-like room. The steel door leading to the bunker is painted with a Dr.Wondertainment style word: "Thoughtomatic". When a human and only a human (as known so far) enters a 2x2 meter monitor turns on with a single word: 考え. If the human subject steps closer off of the stairs, anything and everything they are thinking appears on the monitor. When a subject walks more than 3 meters north of the machine, SCP-BLANK-1 arises. SCP-BLANK-1 is a humanoid figure appearing on the monitor that will talk in Japanese to only one subject inside the bunker asking it to press the button so it can get all control. SCP-BLANK-1 will try to persuade the subject to press the button located on the side of the monitor. SCP-BLANK-1 has anomalous effects that will help the persuasion of a subject greatly, only a person carrying the seal of Dr.Wondertainment can not be affected. At this time there is no understanding of what happens when the button is pressed. 05 approval has been requested. No construction records or business receipts have been found, except for a documented transaction for a pack of m&ms. Upon further chemical testing, Researcher Dr. Manheim concluded that the buyer's name started with the letter █. Due to the possible origin of this transaction, a higher clearance level has been applied.

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5176 is to be inserted into any form of computer with both a DVD player and microphone in use, and SCP-5176 is to be played through any form of .MP4 video file player.

Description: SCP-5176 is a Blu-Ray DVD containing what appears to be an infinite amount of video footage about the SCP Foundation, extending far into the future. One notable difference is that
the SCP Foundation within this footage acts much more like the GOC, focused far more on killing anomalies or forcing them to kill each other in what has been nicknamed the "arena". From here on, there will be a description of notable events within the footage.

4/30/2001: The start of the footage is confirmed to have been in the year 2001, where it depicts a currently unidentified member of the Chaos Insurgency giving birth. The newborn (named "Adam") has several notable features, including goat-like horns, a horizontal slit-type pupil, a tail, and gold-colored hook marking on the neck.
Later on, several more entities like this appear, which are later brought into Foundation custody, none are identical in terms of appearance or anomalous properties though some do have similarities. The depicted variant of the SCP Foundation refers to them as SCP-6000, codenamed "Dead Man Walking", each instance of SCP-6000 is numbered with the oldest being referred to as SCP-6000-1 and so on. All of them are Type-5 reality-benders with anomalous properties always exhibiting relation to death or undeath.

Special Containment Procedures: Due to the nature of SCP-6XXX it is to remain on an unnamed island located in Cameron Creak. As a result both Cameron Creak and Frank Jackson State Park, Alabama as a whole have been deemed an extension of Site 34, named Site 34-3. Task Force 34-Bravo-3 has been assigned to guard Site 34-3 under the guise of members of the Alabama State Parks Law Enforcement and campers.

After sundown the island is to be closed. Any persons caught attempting to enter the island after sundown are to be detained and questioned for possible links to GOIs. During times of heightened activity the island’s bridge entrance is to be closed to the public, under the guise of dangerous wildlife.

After recent events (See Incident I-6XXX-A) all anomalies related to SCP-6XXX have expired. All audio recording devices installed on site are to remain active, consistent monitoring is unnecessary. No further containment procedures are required at this time.

Description: SCP-6XXX is an island situated in lake Frank Jackson in Frank Jackson State Park, Alabama. While the island itself is non-anomalous, it is home to several anomalies, going as follows; SCP-6XXX-1, SCP-6XXX-2 and SCP-6XXX-3. SCP-6XXX-1 is a collection of large eggs, approximately 254 millimeters in height, and approximately 120 millimeters in length. DNA testing of these eggs warrants strands very closely matching that of a Gallus gallus domesticus and the Struthio camelus. After recent events (See Incident I-6XXX-B) it has been revealed that the creatures contained inside the eggs are a collection of humanoid entities with multiple features closely related to that of a Tyrannosaurus Rex.

SCP-6XXX-2 and SCP-6XXX-3 are both gold and gray furred female Aenocyon dirus, a canine species believed to have gone extinct in the later half of the Tarantian period. Both SCP-6XXX-2 and SCP-6XXX-3 contain the ability to produce human speech instead of barking or other standard canine vocalizations. While SCP-6XXX-3 will freely roam the island to simply act as an aid to SCP-6XXX-2, SCP-6XXX-2 will remain in the same location. According to SCP-6XXX-3 SCP-6XXX-2’s purpose is to contain SCP-6XXX-1 (See Interview Log SCP-6XXX-L-2).

Foreword: Following the discovery of SCP-6XXX, SCP-6XXX-3 had engaged in conversation with Foundation personnel on numerous occasions. Due to the untalkitive nature of SCP-6XXX-2 an interview with SCP-6XXX-3 was authorized.

[Dr. Whilby approaches SCP-6XXX-3]

Dr. Whilby: Morning SCP-6XXX-3, I hear you’re a bit more talkative then the other.

6XXX-3: That would be correct, granted I do not have the same duty as the sister.

Dr. Whilby: Tell me about the “duties” she serves.

6XXX-3: When we were assigned to this place she was originally like me, a roamer. But then… that night…

Dr. Whilby: What happened on this night?

6XXX-3: That’s when the “things” came. It would be easier to call them humans, like yourself, but that would be incorrect. To be honest with you I have no idea what they are, and the ones that could tell you are long gone. That night these “men” came for the eggs. We lost one of our sisters that day, and ever since then the big sister has been assigned to watch them.

Dr. Whilby: Is your SCP-6XXX-2 your senior?

6XXX-3: She is the big sister because she watches the eggs. Her duty, her purpose is to keep anyone from ever breaking the things in those eggs free.

Dr. Whilby: What is so dangerous about these eggs?

6XXX-3: The only one who truly knows is the Big Sister, and even if I did know I doubt I would share it.

Dr. Whilby: You seem to have shared quite a bit already, why the change in tone?

6XXX-3: I’m only sharing all I have because.. you’re different. Everyone else that has ever found us has tried to claim the eggs for themselves, but you and your people, you have almost no interest in the eggs. But I fear that may only be because you have yet to realize what you’ve truly stumbled upon, and for that reason I will keep what I know of the eggs to myself. You people are truly a curiosity to me though, maybe it’s a bit foolish of me but something about you has me interested, maybe it’s the fact that no one has ever been able to find us without tracking the eggs.

Dr. Whilby: Well that seems fair enough, how about I change questions then. Tell me about these men you speak of. Describe them to me.

6XXX-3: That memory is old and mostly locked away, so I can’t remember much. I just remember the lack of a face, like some of their heads were black and white but no face. And that hat, that damn hat, similar to what you would call a “Boss of the Plains”. Those are the only two memories that I could never keep locked away with the rest of that night.

Dr. Whilby: Do you believe they are still hunting you?

6XXX-3: I am not sure, I would assume so but the last time we saw them was something around two centuries ago maybe less, but I wouldn’t doubt they are still out there. And your presence could very well attract their attention. I hope you have not brought the Devil to the den, Doctor.

Dr. Whilby: I promise we can reassure your security. Thank you, that was all the questions I had for you today.

Incident Log I-6XXX-B
On 05-03-20 at 0347 reports came in of strange sounds and large amounts of movement in the woods surrounding Site-34-3. The area was placed on mild alert and personnel continued their duties. At 0436 a bright flash was reported through Site-34-3 communication. Approxitally 12 seconds later Site-34 command heard the sounds of yelling and gunfire and then lost all contact with Site-34. Site-34 command deployed Rapid Response Team 34-Omega-1. At the same time reports from neighboring towns to 911 spoke of the sound of a large firefight within the city surrounding Site-34-3, and that the city itself was suffering a major blackout.

At 0500 Rapid Response Team 34-Omega-1 entered the perimeter of Site 34-3 and headed for SCP-6XXX. Below is an event transcript.

CPL Gavin: Jesus, was this place always so dark and.. lifeless.

SGT Danson: It appears the whole cities gone dark, ready your knods we’ve made it.

PFC Brown: I wonder what could have caused all of this..

SGT Danson: That’s what we’re here to figure out, now cut the chatter team. We’re beginning entry now Command.

[Omega Squad enters SCP-6XXX. Bodies of both Foundation and unidentified assailants can be seen skewed about.]

SGT Danson: Command we’ve got multiple casualties. Requesting MEDEVAC asap.

Command: Acknowledged Omega. MEDEVAC will be standing by for your all clear. Continue your sweep.

[The team continues forward. A short ways in a sound can be heard from inside a bush.]

CPL Gavin: Miller, the bush.

PFC Miller: Step out of the bush! Make yourself visible to us, now!

[Out of the bush an unidentified assailant lunges at PFC Miller, a short struggle can be heard.]

PFC Miller: Jesus! Get off me you bastard! Oh shi- knife knife!

[CPL Gavin discharges his rifle, killing the assailant.]

SGT Danson: Command come in, we’ve encountered hostiles. They seem to be the same ones described in the file. We can say pretty easily now that this was an attack.

Command: 10-4, double time it. We need to know the status of SCP-6XXX-1 and -2.

SGT Danson: Gavin, take Miller and head Southwest. We can cover more ground.

CPL Gavin: Understood, Miller let's move.

SGT Danson: Brown, let's move. Double time!

[Ten minutes pass, SGT Danson and PFC Brown arrive at SCP-6XXX-1]

SGT Danson: Command come in, we’re coming up on SCP-6XXX-1. There appears to be a lot of carnage.

Command: 10-4 Sergeant. Get us the status on the eggs.

[SGT Danson can be heard approaching SCP-6XXX-1]

SGT Danson: Holy shit.. Command come in now! The eggs have hatched, I repeat the eggs have hatched.

[The line is silent for a few seconds]

Command: Acknowledged Sergeant, your team is not prepared for this. Remain calm and get your team out of there, evac is ETA 8 minutes.

SGT Danson: Roger that command we are enro-

[The sound of heavy movement can be heard in the treeline surrounding the agents]

SGT Danson: Shit, Gavin get yourself over here now! Possible hostiles on my location!

CPL Gavin: (radio) 10-4 Sarg, we are enroute now!

SGT Danson: Brown, defensive position. Be ready for anything!

PFC Brown: Roger!

[The sound continues for twelve seconds, slowly getting closer.]

CPL Gavin: (radio) We are just about on your location Sarg.

[The reflection of a pair of eyes can be seen just behind the treeline]

SGT Danson: Don’t play games with us! Show yourself!

[Out of the treeline emerges SCP-6XXX-3, appearing blooded and showing her teeth. Upon seeing the agents, she lowers her stance.]

SGT Danson: Command we have located SCP-6XXX-3. You could go without alarming us like that.

SCP-6XXX-3: I apologize, but I had to make sure you were real.

SGT Danson: Was there a chance that we weren’t real?

SCP-6XXX-3: The men that attacked us, they bared your own insignia. At first I thought it might have been you, that possibly you had finally been corrupted, but then I saw them attack on your own and I knew something wasn’t right.

SGT Danson: Wait, there were attackers appearing as foundation personnel? Command, are you getting this.

Command: 10-4 Sergeant. Continue with your team’s extraction.

SGT Danson: Roger that Command, continuing with evac.

SCP-6XXX-3: There is no need for that. The eggs… they have been dealt with. The Sister made sure of that.

SGT Danson: So you’re saying whatever was inside is… dead?

SCP-6XXX-3: I can assure you of that. I had to deal with the last of them myself. They… they must have been too much for her.

SGT Danson: Too much for her? Where is SCP-6XXX-2?

SCP-6XXX-3: She’s behind you… she has fallen.

[The team turns to see the lifeless body of SCP-6XXX-2, covered in numerous battle wounds.]

SGT Danson: Jesus, Command -2 appears to have been neutralized. -1 has been possibly neutralized as well.

Command: 10-4, in that case continue your sweep, evac will stand by for the all clear.

[CPL Gavin can be heard approaching with PFC Wilson.]

CPL Gavin: Reporting in sir.

[The team continues with their sweep without incident]

PFC Brown: Anything interesting on your side Miller?

PFC Miller: Nothing too noteworthy, seems you guys had all the fun.

SGT Danson: Command we have finished our sweep and awaiting evac, you are clear to send in MEDIVAC.

Command: 10-4 deploying MEDEVAC. Evac has arrived, good work men.

Foreword: In the wake of I-6XXX-B an interview was imminently authorized on SCP-6XXX-3, with the purpose of both understanding the events of the attack better, and to understand more about SCP-6XXX-1.

Dr. Whilby: Hello, SCP-6XXX-3. Usually I look forward to our meetings but it doesn’t seem today we are meeting under the best of circumstance.

6XXX-3: Thank you for coming and joining me Doctor. Do not put too much thought into the reason for our meeting.

Dr. Whilby: I am a bit surprised. After all that has happened you seem just as enthusiastic as ever.

6XXX-3: I have no reason to be down, Doctor. The Sisters and myself are now free, free to finally fully pass on. The Big Sister has not died in the same way you Humans die, she has simply finished her life in this realm. We are all finally free of those beasts in the eggs.

Dr. Whilby: Do you and your people not fear death?

6XXX-3: What do I have to fear? My “people” you speak of are no more in this world. The mass of my species left this world tens of thousands of years ago, the Sisters were the last of us. Nothing remains for me here.

Dr. Whilby: Why did you and the “Sisters” stay here?

6XXX-3: The eggs are why, we were tasked with keeping them contained. We have now failed our mission and I must make my way to the realm to fix the consequences of this failure.

Dr. Whilby: Failed? You eliminated the anomalies living within the eggs when they broke out, did you not? Now they are no longer anyone’s problem.

6XXX-3: I do not think you understand, though I do not blame you for understanding. This world, this realm of reality, it is not all there is. There is more beyond this place, after all a soul can not simply just cease to be, the death of a body is nothing more than a death of a souls vessel, and now that soul must move on to its next existence. My people were always capable of killing those creatures in this world, we put them in the eggs on purpose.

Dr. Whilby: Wait, let me get this straight.. You put them in the eggs? What?

6XXX-3: Not necessarily me, my people, our leaders.

Dr. Whilby: Why put them in the eggs just to then spend a bloody decem millennium watching them. Did you create these creatures?

6XXX-3: We did not create the creatures, and that was the very issue. Those things were a curse. A burden put upon us by an ancient enemy. One that wanted to see our destruction. And now it may have gotten what it wanted.

Dr. Whilby: I feel like I am missing so many vital pieces here 6XXX-3. Why are you even sharing all this with us?

6XXX-3: Normally I wouldn’t feel obligated to explain all of this to a human, or anyone for that matter. But the eggs are no more, and your people lied their lives down in our defence. So I shall give you some propere answers.

Dr. Whilby: Alright so, explain why these creatures, that you could easily destroy, needed to be contained by you for thousands of years.

6XXX-3: My people, long ago, contained those beasts in the eggs so they could never escape on their own. The Sisters and I were assigned to watch over them so no mortal may ever break them free. You see, while these creatures' bodies are weak, their souls are not, the souls contained within their bodies were among the most powerful this world, this realm, has ever seen. The body of the creatures, their soul’s vessel, was pathetic compared to the user itself. And if killed, the souls would pass on to the next realm. My people… my people would face the threat of being destroyed… and now that I have failed in keeping the eggs safe, the possible complete destruction of my people is a very real possibility.

Dr. Whilby: In a past meeting of ours, you stated you barely knew anything about the eggs, yet now you seem to me an expert.

6XXX-3: I said that the Big Sister knows all that needs to be known about the eggs. Upon the untimely demise of the last Big Sister I have now become the new Big Sister… the last Big Sister… the last Sister. I now know all that needs to be known about the eggs.

Dr. Whilby: Do you know why these people wanted the eggs?

6XXX-3: I’d be damned to know anything about that. The creatures are unholy, and were created, not born. So there could be any amount of forbidden power within their souls. It’s very rare for a soul to be “created” in the fashion these things were. So I could only imagine what their intent was, but they have failed, the souls are gone.

Dr. Whilby: Thank you for your time 6XXX-3. Until next time.

6XXX-3: I am sorry Doctor, but there will be no next time.

Dr. Whilby: What do you mean?

6XXX-3: Those creatures have passed on to the next realm. My people need me now more than ever, my time has come to pass on myself. I soon will be leaving this world, never to return. I will remember the time I spent here, and the time I spent with you and I thank you for that. But I must leave now.

Dr. Whilby: Well this is certainly a surprise. But if that’s the case then there is nothing more we can do for you. The best I can say is good luck.

6XXX-3: And the same to you Doctor, for if we fail to stop them then… well then I wish your people good luck as well.

Agent 1: They are breaking into our location! Hey W- you got the comms working yet?

Agent 2: How many times - tell you! They are not coming back up!

Agent 1: Seems we are on our own.

Agent 3: How ----- own?

Agent 1: Just keep --found- to respond!

Agent 3: Those aren’t our men! We -- hit —- deck!

[An explosion from a concussion grenade grenade can be seen, blinding the agents.]

~ The Right Honorable Order of the Wandsmen~

Welcome everyone, please take your seats. Note, if you experience any lingering transformation pains and need to leave during the lecture, please feel free to do so. A marker has been placed on your maps to allow the teleportation command to place you smoothly back in your beds. There is no shame in needing more time to recover, so please do not strain yourselves.

Allow me to formally welcome each of you to the Wandsmen. We are an organization dedicated to bringing the news and the truth to all those who seek knowledge, students of all that is and teachers to all who will listen.

We've been the Multiverse's best source of information and explanations for untold eons and even in these trying times we remain dedicated to bringing the true stories of the worlds we explore to the multiverse at large. The news is a vital institution in a universe as complex as ours, so we do our best to preserve and promulgate all the knowledge we can find so it is not lost to the void.

Now I know you must have a lot of questions, but please hold them until the end of the lecture. So to start-

12th Wandsman of Reedsing, we're not forcing you to be here. If you're just here to disrupt-

12th Wandsman of Reedsing! I have read your file. You did not find a lost map. You got told exactly what this was like from another Wandsman, and you had the chance to back out while the transformation was ongoing. You clearly wanted your map's power more than you wanted your old flesh.

Look, I can understand buyer's remorse. Believe me, I get it. If you need time to process or counseling…

And… he's gone.

What? No, following him wouldn't help. With any luck he'll come back to our dimension when he's blown off some steam. If he doesn't… we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

Moving on…

Look… I'm going a bit off book here, but after that fiasco at the start, I think it would be best if we addressed the elephant in the room.

All of you are probably quite anxious about your recent bodily changes. Know that every Wandsman in the multiverse has felt the sting of dysphoria from time to time.

When one takes up the map, their body shifts into a more avian form. Specifically, you take the quasi-humanoid form of a bird that you previously found repulsive. There are a few theories as to why that is. Perhaps the cartographers of eons past who enscribed the first maps and passed them down to us wanted to change our perspectives. Or perhaps they just wanted to teach us some humility before they granted the map's gifts…

Frankly there are millions of review articles written in our journals with different theories. No one really knows why it happens.

Regardless, your new form has many advantages. You will be able to understand others with greater acuity, your bodies have been strengthened, age is a thing of the past, and most, if not all of you. have been granted the gift of flight.

If you've shrunken down to the size of a Canary, fear not. It just means your body has been granted the elusive power to explore the strange and twisting wonders of time. You can slip through cracks in reality which us larger Wandsmen may never even notice, and even have cartographic potential.

Or perhaps you were lucky enough to end up like me. I know, I know… it can be strange talking to someone so large, but we mighty Rocs have the strength to lift up a thousand libraries if needed. Some of the multiverse's stories require great force to unearth, and we Rocs help provide it.

Even those of you with middling sizes are commonly granted unique and curious abilities ranging from an instant understanding of language to echolocation. You may think your form a curse, but it is truly a blessing!

I suppose I can't say that with a straight face and be called a seeker of truth.

Still, fear not, things like "beauty" are ultimately a matter of perspective. Remember: you all took up the map because there was something in the infinite halls of knowledge that you wanted to see far more than you wanted to recognize the person in the mirror.

And before you ask, there is no cure, no going back that we know of. Yes people have tried. Most of them aren't with us anymore…

Know that you are surrounded by those who suffer in similar ways. And one can, over the years, adjust.

You can even find love. My husband and I have been writing articles together for over six hundred years, and the eons of time we still have before us make me very happy I took this shape.

I know you all joined because you had a desire to explore the multiverse and a tell your tales. We will get to that. But before anything else, we have to establish some safety rules. Your new bodies are hardened against many hazards, but one major unusual threat to your safety in this line of work is the theft or exploitation of your name.

There are two major strategies when protecting one's name. One is to simply never give it out, or give it only to those you trust most in the world.

I follow this method, so you may call me the Third Wandsman of the Wanderer's Library. By now, you should all have been assigned a title and a number based on your place of origin. This title has been thaumaturgically hardened, so even the most potent name thieves cannot take it from you.

I strongly recommend this strategy during your first few centuries.

The other strategy is to promulgate your name to all who would hear it and add title upon title to yourself so as to strengthen the name's power. My colleague Ickis the Wayward, Wandsman of Kul-Manas - Walker of the Astral Plane, Sailor of the Celestial Sea, and Spelunker of the Dimensional Depths is fond of this strategy.

He claims it allows him to use his name as a sink for the backflow of his magics, but you'd have to speak to him about the details. Name magic may be powerful, but it is also quite dangerous.

However, there are many other magics that you may find useful to employ. Your mind has been sharpened by your transformation. So the higher physics of reality should be relatively easy for you to pick up.

I certainly encourage you to take advantage of our back issue library of ritual workings. We also run courses on magical studies for all Wandsmen who wish to partake of it.

What is Thaumaturgy? Something as diverse as magic does not lend itself to summaries, but suffice it to say it is a method of manipulating reality based on your ability to comprehend it. That is of course a gross oversimplification… But I fear the full details fall outside the bounds of an introductory lecture.

But no matter how quickly you master the arcane arts, do not get cocky. Magic will be an invaluable tool as you document the stories of other worlds, but you must not rely on it. There are many powers in the world you shall need to come to understand if you're going to survive this line of work. Thaumaturgy is merely a piece of the puzzle.

Obviously, the first and most important piece of equipment you will need to familiarize yourself with is your map.

The map you hold is a map of the Known Multiverse. Our cartography team is working around the clock to keep it up to date, but there is still so much to explore!

Obviously, by speaking the name of a place on the map you can teleport to it. As you gain more intimate details of the objects and persons in a dimension you'll even be able to "target" your precise destination. For this reason, among several others, doing your homework is important! Every century we lose something on the order of fifty Wandsman who thought it was a good idea to jump into an incredibly hazardous dimension unprepared. The lucky ones end up in solid rock faces. Don't be like them.

Another major map safety concern is that prolonged exposure to the image on any map can make those whose minds are not properly prepared suffer severe vertigo and headaches, which I'm sure many of you have already encountered while you adjusted to them during your transformations

As for other field equipment, we have workshops and catalogues a plenty for you to assemble your equipment from, and I do know the Eighth Wandsman of Hui runs excellent seminars on the creation of magical items.

Generally speaking, basic resources are easy to acquire for smaller projects, it is part of your benefits package after all, but if you want to build something truly massive to aid in your explorations and the writing of your articles, you may need to request approval from the Editors.

Who are the Editors you ask?

Our organization is perhaps best described as a "Co-op". What this means is that our leaders and several key positions within our organization are elected, and everyone is considered to have partial ownership of our libraries.

This does not mean you can just take whatever you want from our stores or, knowledge forbid, destroy any of our books, but you can requisition things like lodging and necessities with relative ease from the company coffers so long as you do not abuse these privileges.

A few of the more notable roles within our organization are as follows:

Reporters: This is the most common role a Wandsman performs. These are those who wander the multiverse to record its stories. All Wandsman have at least some experience in this role.

Hawkers: These are the Wandsmen who sell (or, with approval, provide at no charge) our newspapers and magazines to all the inhabitants of the multiverse who have a chance to understand them. This is a difficult job, but a needed one. One must be both salesman and teacher to bring in the resources we need to maintain operations.

Raptors:* "Army" is an inadequate word to describe them. These are the Wandsmen who uncover dangerous ruins and explore hostile dimensions. They will save lives (and thus minds and thus knowledge) wherever they can and provide security for our organization. There are many entities and forces in the Multiverse that work against us. These are the brave souls who hold the line against such darkness.

Arbiters: Of course, violence is best reserved as a last resort. When interacting with other organizations or populations it is often in our best interest to take a more diplomatic approach to doing our reporting. Arbiters are elected for certain 'difficult' regions to sort of "smooth things over" for the local population.

Cartographers: This is a position that requires a certain… Attunement to the multiverse at large. Cartographers are responsible for mapping the various dimensions that surround us and pathfinding or tunneling ways between them. This job requires a great deal of magical knowledge to execute, as well as certain… additional transformations that many find distasteful. It's rare to see a cartographer with less than a millennium of experience.

Canaries can be a minor exception to this. They often find themselves sent out as scouts into strange new dimensions and locations of… temporal distortion. However they can carry very little with them on such voyages, and the multiverse can be a dangerous place for birds so small.

Editors: Now we get to the meat of the discussion. Once every 500 years, an election is held for the editorial board. The next one is coming up in 86 years and you're already seeing some campaign poems get floated around.

The editors are in charge of day to day operations, approving story assignments and directing the flow of our resources. At the end of the day they're in charge… though between you and me they listen to the cartographers a bit more attentively than the rest of us…

Sorry, I shouldn't be bringing internal politics into the classroom. At least not yet.

Also, let me assure you, there are no "Grand Cartographers". I have been here for Millennia and I haven't seen so much as a feather of them anywhere. No one knows who started our organization. If you want to join the legion of Archeologists trying to figure it out, be my guest, but trust me on this… I spent a good century of my misspent youth trying to find them, and the farthest records back we have stretch only 3.7 billion years. Not even my old home had records of them. It gave the librarians quite a scare when I asked.

I know it's in all our nature to try and make sense of every mystery, but all I got out of those decades of digging was a few ghost stories and a nagging cough. Trust me, don't waste your time.

It is best to think of these as… Guidelines more than rules. You should follow them 99% of the time, but we will need myriad different perspectives in order to find the truth and I don't want to quash yours with hard and fast rules.

That said, if you deviate from the code too much, you're definitely going to end up getting questioned by your colleagues, perhaps even the editors if you've truly drifted too far.

1) Preserve as much knowledge as possible
If you have the opportunity to learn something, take it. And make sure to record it as well.

2) Spread knowledge as much as possible
If you have the opportunity to teach someone else something, take it. Be aware that educating an unwilling mind is an extremely difficult task, so gaining the trust of those around you is quite important here.

3) There is no such thing as "bad" knowledge, merely knowledge we have not found a way to comprehend yet
You will learn many horrible things working for our organization. You will even encounter knowledge that seems to posses its own will and a desire to harm you. Contain these things if you can. We have acquaintances that can help with that.

4) Treat other perspectives with respect, especially when you disagree with them
Note, if the perspective is "I want to have you for lunch" you don't have to immediately let a creature devour you out of respect. Rather, try to understand why the creature wants your flesh. Perhaps you can provide it with an alternative. Perhaps then you can get its story.

5) Destroy knowledge as little as possible
This can be more difficult than it first seems, and honestly it seems quite difficult. Books and minds and concepts can all seek to harm you and everything you love. We know sometimes you will have to destroy them to preserve other knowledge, but try to do this as a last resort.

6) Be careful in Red Zones
A "Red Zone" is a place known to be ruled by a greater entity, such as Alagadda or La Rue Macabre (although the greater being ruling the latter is much more amicable). These places require some clever negotiations to enter at best and can be instantly fatal upon entry at worst. As much as I love my dear Ickis, working the Red Zone beat has made him a fascinating combination of paranoid, over-prepared and insane. Frankly that's the most rational way to be if you want to explore some of the multiverse's more terrible places.

7) Don't think you're alone
Look… I know it sounds flippant, saying that we Wandsmen are family, but we genuinely are a team, and all of us have suffered to become part of it. When you burn out researching a story, ask for help. And help your colleagues whenever you can. Further still, help other thinking beings if you can so long as you're not helping them on a path of destruction. Accept help from them too.

You aren't alone in this.

What's all this about?

The Wandsmen are a GoI focused on reporting on anomalous events and preserving knowledge. They have joined the fight to defend the multiverse from destruction largely because of their desire to preserve knowledge.

The Wandsmen are very flexible to write for. Their morality is generally decent, but it can be very alien (imagine preserving knowledge by turning someone into a brain in a jar. Some wandsmen would think this was terrible, but many of the more ailen Wandsmen Just "Wouldn't think this was the best method because it restricts those minds from experiencing new things and gaining more interesting information." It certainly wouldn't be seen as an inherently evil act by the Wandsmen at large).

Currently the Organization in general is trying to befriend the Foundation as they see them as potential allies in the fight to avoid all their books getting burned, but there's a lot of tension around this because a lot of Wandsmen also want to write about Earth's stories and distribute their magazines.

In short, there is some inherent diplomatic conflict in the setting.

SCP will be fed via dumbwaiter receptacles built to resemble reach in refrigerators in every aisle. food is to be packaged in edible casing resembling Turkish grocery store foods in plastic bags and cardboard boxes. feed should consist of fish and shrimp fortified with additional vitamins and a mild sedative to keep them docile. Cell should stay around 23-29 Celsius. If a specimen begins to molt it should be provided with a D-Class in terminal condition.

Special Containment Procedures: The lake itself cannot leave █████████████, so the entire perimeter of the area (roughly 61 km²) has been fenced off, with guards posted to ensure that no civilians enter █████████████. SCP-####-1 (SEE DESCRIPTION) is essential for keeping SCP #### within the forest region, for if he leaves, the entity will expand outside the forest limits, potentially endangering human life. So a small facility has been built on-site where SCP-####-1 is being kept, and information about SCP-#### can be gathered from making contact with him.

Description: SCP-#### is a lake in the forest region of █████████████. It cannot be seen with the human eye, only by those who are a member of the █████ family (known formally as SCP-####-2). SCP-####-1 is a member of said family, and is the only known decendant, so he is essential to understanding SCP-####. SCP-####-1 is a caucasian male, roughly 5'10" in height. He is severely underweight, and it is understood that he has not ever eaten food in his life. This brings to attention the relationship between the █████ family and SCP-####. It is not entirely clear how or why they are connected, apart from that maybe, when the family was founded, a deal was struck with the entity that allowed them to gain superhuman abilities, such as a lack of the need to eat. SCP-####-1 also mentioned that his mother and father had always looked the same his entire life, suggesting that perhaps SCP-#### had granted them the ability to forgo ageing. Of course, when a deal is struck, both parties must give something, and it was revealed in an interview with SCP-####-1 that his parents had both dissappeared when he was 18. He said that they had also gone on a journey to find SCP-#### similar to how he had, and that the lake had "absorbed their bodies entirely, freeing them of their fleshly cages so that they may ascend this plane." It has been hypothesised that the lake might require human bodies for sustenance, however that wouldn't explain why it only ever consumed members of this one specific family.

Properties of the lake include:
1) Dematerialization of any object that enters the water¹
2) Music that sounds as if it is being played backwards
3) The water itself is completely opaque and yet is a colour that “cannot be described” ²
4) Can change location within █████████████ seemingly at random, however does not ever leave █████████████.
5) Can manipulate subjects other than those in SCP ####-2
6) Sentience, it seems to express anger when separated from SCP ####-1
