Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: Since SCP-XXXX poses no threat to life or the foundation, SCP-XXXX is to be held in a locked 30cm x 30cm x 30cm box made entirely out of hardened plastic and must be monitored by at least one personnel at all times, with exceptions to testing and interrogation.

Description: SCP-XXXX takes the form of vinyl eraser missing the cardboard wrapping, roughly 6.5 cm x 1.25 cm x 2 cm in size, containing the faded markings of the average vinyl eraser manufactured in STAEDLER, SCP-XXXX is made out of soft vinyl, identical to non anomalous vinyl erasers. SCP-XXXX possess regenerative abilities once size is reduced in any method, regardless of how severe the damage is, SCP-XXXX will grow back the removed areas from the largest fraction of the body in exactly 5 seconds. SCP-XXXX is capable of cognitive speech of only english, despite not possessing any form of mouth. The entity usually speaks in a husky and burly male voice, and shows constant verbal aggression towards foundation staff, refusing to describe any details regarding origins or shared knowledge, however, SCP-XXXX has stated that he is male. Threats regarding termination or abuse towards SCP-XXXX to encourage him to give details have ended in nothing but failure as SCP-XXXX states that he doesn’t feel any pain. SCP-XXXX also has been caught monologuing regarding world control. Another ability SCP-XXXX is capable of movement, however they are just periodic lifts from one side of the entity’s body to gain momentum to roll to another side. Each time SCP-XXXX moves, it is usually followed by grunting, implying that SCP-XXXX is using some kind of unidentified muscle.

SCP-XXXX through cognitohazard filtering

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: As of Incident-7-21, containment procedures have changed accordingly. SCP-XXXX is to be kept contained in a standard medium steel storage unit equipped with a reality anchor that must be activated at all times, with the steel containing large quantities of cold iron. Personnel are advised to disregard wailing sounds emanating from SCP-XXXX's chamber, as this is considered normal behavior. Should the wailings cease, personnel are advised to check the condition of the reality anchor.

Security cameras equipped with appropriate cognitohazard filters are to monitor the cell in case the reality anchor fails and instances of SCP-XXXX-2 emerge from the gemstone. In an event of a containment breach, security personnel must wear cognitohazard filtering visors and reactivate the reality anchor as quickly as possible to prevent more SCP-XXXX-2 entities emerging. Security personnel is also advised to use a portable reality anchor to recontain instances of SCP-XXXX-2, and bullets fashioned from cold iron is somewhat effective against the entities.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a gemstone that will make subjects suffer severe hallucinations and Glossolalia to whomever views it without proper cognitohazard protection. It appears to shift colors constantly, the color depending on the perception on the person who is viewing it. Through a cognitohazard filter the gemstone is turquoise. The center of the object emits a dim blue light, and whispering emits from the light whenever the anomaly is left alone with no personnel in its vicinity. Individuals reports it feeling cold to the touch, regardless of environment. Personnel exposed to the object for a long period of time have been observed to develop flu-like symptoms, deprived of emotion, and report hearing voices over their shoulder.

The cognitohazard effects begin when a human subject views it for more than thirty seconds. They start to feel light-headed and slightly nauseated. When the subject proceeds viewing the gem, the subject's brain starts malfunctioning, disrupting an essential part in the brain used for speech and causing the subject to develop Glossolalia1. If the subject continues examining the object after this stage, subject will start experiencing hallucinations that when described, their description matches that of SCP-XXXX-2 instances. Subjects are observed to typically respond with extreme paranoia2 and have heightened levels of Cortisol. Fully affected subjects will mutter "Free the condemned ones" constantly all the time, and will go to extreme measures to try and breach SCP-XXXX out of containment. In one extremely unusual case, the subject [REDACTED]. SCP-XXXX is currently being contained at Site-██.

SCP-XXXX-2 entities are humanoid-shaped clouds of particulates, and also display the same cognitohazard as the gemstone. They are luminescent and constantly shifting colors. The entities are reported to be able to pass through solid matter, with an exception for steel mixed with cold iron. After fifteen hours outside the presence of a reality anchor, instances of SCP-XXXX-2 will begin materializing from the dim blue light at the center of the gem and immediately proceed towards a living organism's line of sight. When they enter the presence of a reality anchor, they immediately start dissipating and their cognitohazard lethality drops drastically. Infrared cameras have revealed unusually low temperature spots where the entities were present, and also have shown the remaining particles during the disintegration of the instances speed to the gem and re-enter the light.

SCP-XXXX-2 instances have been observed to gather around a deceased organism and remain there until the reality anchor is activated again. The entities appear to wail and screech when they manifest. Several comprehensible phrases have been heard in their screams, such as "help me", "Don't look" and the most common heard among these, "Save yourself from us". Although the entities can make comprehensible words, SCP-XXXX-2 instances scream incoherently for the majority of the time they are manifested. Certain researchers and D-Class personnel have reported feeling a "sense of familiarity" and also describe the entities as deceased loved ones. A small number of personnel have attempted to embrace the instances in forms such as hugging or kissing, and feel great sadness upon leaving the presence of SCP-XXXX-2 instances.

Addendum: Due to the aftermath of Incident-7-21, biological testing on SCP-XXXX is to be monitored and logged. Cold Iron must always be present in containment unit's steel walls to slow down instances of SCP-XXXX-2. Personnel near or around SCP-XXXX's containment unit report feeling uneasy, disturbed, or otherwise emotional towards the gemstone. SCP-XXXX's containment unit has been reported to decrease to temperatures of ten degrees Celsius.

Personnel exposed to the cognitohazardous effects of SCP-XXXX are to be monitored for any signs of nausea, Glossolalia, and extreme paranoia. Any staff found to be under the effects of the cognitohazard are to be held in solitary confinement with basic amenities for a humanoid, or otherwise terminated if deemed necessary. Dr. Daniel Brown is currently the Lead Researcher on SCP-XXXX.

Note: During hours of the day when SCP-XXXX is left alone in its containment unit, interesting audio in the video logs of SCP-XXXX reveal that there is a faint whispering emitting from the gem itself. It sounded very unsettling, and I think Junior Researcher Ross couldn't sleep that night.- Dr. Daniel

Special Containment Procedures

SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a standard containment cell at Area 25. Four heavily armed security officers must stay outside the cell at all times.

Any member of personnel that starts working with SCP-XXXX must complete Document XXXX with their name, clearance level, charge and date of joining.

In case of a containment breach, SCP-XXXX must be terminated immediately.

Description

SCP-XXXX is a Chelonioidea, commonly known as a Sea Turtle, of around two (2) meters large. It possesses black scales and bioluminescent light blue spots in its fins and head.

SCP-XXXX is capable of levitating, moving its fins to propel itself, the same way non-anomalous Sea Turtles move their fins to swim underwater.

When alone, SCP-XXXX will levitate slowly around the room it is in. When a living being enters SCP-XXXX's field of view, it will quickly move towards the objective, and it will proceed to bite their neck. SCP-XXXX will not let its objective go until they are dead.

Instead of bone, SCP-XXXX's shell is made of several types of metals, among which are: Gold, Copper, Iron, Silver and an unknown type of metal. The "Shell" has a cleft on its top where there is a sphere made of glass, in the edge of the cleft it can be appreciated the figure of four elephants and the sentence "Life comes from death" written in Latin. The inside of the sphere is completely dark with white spots of different sizes.

Studies have revealed a series of gears, cables and circuits inside the "Shell", which are connected to both the sphere and the nervous and circulatory systems of SCP-XXXX.

Discovery

SCP-XXXX was found in an underground bunker in ██████, inside a safe room. Alongside multiple tools commonly used in dissections and mechanical engineering, food cans, books with contents of alchemy, biology, and history, a notebook and a human corpse.

An investigation is ongoing to find out the identity of the deceased individual. Their cause of death was determined to be a shot in the skull, the murder weapon was not found in the bunker.

The notebook possesses multiple handwritten notes of scientific nature, except for the last written page.

Attached File: Last written page of the notebook.

I'm done, I'm sick of all these scientific reports with negative results. I've been working on this for months and I still can't get it to work.

Either the machine won't work or the animal doesn't survive, if this happens with the turtle, I don't care how much money they offer me, I'm leaving. I'm tired of living in this shitty bunker.

The moment that disgusting reptile wakes up, I'm going to shoot it in the head. If nothing happens, I'm going home.

It worked. Goddammit, it worked! Just like we were expecting it to work! The moment the bullet went through the turtle, I heard the gears moving and the glass breaking. I closed my eyes for a moment and when I open them, I was in front of the window of the safe room, the gun in my hand with all of its bullets, the turtle waking up, to the first time I saw it.

I did it, a living button to go back in time.

I can't believe it worked. It's not the first time I see something anomalous, but it's the first time I experience it. I guess those pieces of a God and the "magic metal" that they were talking so much were really something.

I'm calling X, I want to give them their fucking "Guardian" and receive my money, so I can go to the Bahamas.

Test Log

Test A

Subject: Senior Researcher Johnathan Locke, selected due to his years working with the Foundation.

Procedure: After watching SCP-XXXX through the one-way-glass in the door of the containment cell, Researcher Locke will go inside and shoot SCP-XXXX in the head with a revolver.

Results: After watching the interior of the cell through the one-way-glass, Researcher Locke turned around and said "The note tells the truth" to the Security Officer with him.

Notes: Researcher Locke confirmed that, after terminating SCP-XXXX he was "sent back in time" to the first time he saw the entity.

Test B

Subject: Senior Researcher Luna Tylor, selected by Researcher Solo4.

Procedure: After watching SCP-XXXX through the one-way-glass in the door of the containment cell, Researcher Tylor is to be told the phrase "In the end all the flowers bloom"5. After that she will go in and shoot SCP-XXXX in the head with a revolver.

Results: After watching the interior of the cell through the one-way-glass, Researcher Tylor started to tremble and refused to go in. When asked about what happened before going in, she mentioned the phrase "In the end all the flowers bloom".

Notes: Researcher Tylor mentioned being attacked by SCP-XXXX before killing it and being sent back in time. D-Classes will be used in further experiment.

Test C

Subject: D-28651.

Procedure: D-28651 will watch SCP-XXXX through the one-way-glass in the door of the containment cell. Three days later, he will go in and shoot SCP-XXXX in the head with a revolver.

Results: After watching the interior of the cell through the one-way-glass, the D-Class seemed confused and lost.

Notes: Further experiments to see if SCP-XXXX has some limit on the amount of time it can send someone back are to be made.

Test D

Subject: D-25203 and D-22104.

Procedure: D-25203 and D-22104 will watch SCP-XXXX through the one-way-glass in the door of the containment cell. One week and a half later, they will go inside the cell and D-25203 will shoot SCP-XXXX in the head with a revolver while D-22104 holds his hand.

Results: After watching the interior of the cell through the one-way-glass, D-25203 seemed confused and lost. D-22104 appeared normal.

Notes: It does not seem like SCP-XXXX's abilities can send two persons at the same time, only the one that triggered the mechanism.

Test E

Subject: D-19285.

Procedure: According to Security Officer Coraline Cheshire, D-19285 would watch SCP-XXXX through the one-way-glass in the door of the containment cell, after that he would go into the cell with heavy protection and a hammer made of titanium, and destroy SCP-XXXX's shell.

Results: After watching the interior of the cell, D-19285 went in and was unable of destroying the shell, being terminated by SCP-XXXX. While retrieving the body SCP-XXXX breached containment. Security Officer Coraline Cheshire terminated SCP-XXXX, following the containment procedures and was sent back in time.

Notes: Test E, according to Officer Cheshire, took place in February 2047. This makes Officer Cheshire's the longest travel thus far, being of 26 years.

Addendum XXXX-1

Message from the Overseer Council

After talking with Researcher Solo and reading the Test Log, it has been decided that keeping SCP-XXXX under Foundation control is a top priority.

Having the ability of going back in time with one's memories can be a fearsome weapon if used correctly.

The Foundation will use it to prevent any K-Class scenarios, as such it has been given the secondary class "Hera", for items that are hostile but very useful to the Foundation, due to its aggressive nature.

An investigation to find out who ordered the creation of SCP-XXXX and if there are other items like it will start.

Further tests with SCP-XXXX are now prohibited unless authorized by a Level 5 Personnel.

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: Site-210 is to be guarded at all times under the pretense of military operations. A circumference of barbed wire fences are to be placed 50 meters away from the perimeter of SCP-XXXX and only staff with level 2 clearance and above are to be allowed within the premises.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a suburban town that was discovered in the middle of the Gobi Desert, Mongolia. It's perimeter is roughly five-hundred (500) meters on each side. The town appears as a regular, American, suburban town with streets and shops, however, the most notable building is the church-like structure situated in the immediate center of the town. SCP-XXXX is completely desolate after the events of the incident categorized as SCP-XXXX-1 (see next paragraph).

The Foundation was informed about the town after a tourist entered a Mongolian police station with tattered clothes and claw/bite marks on his limbs. He reported that a town turned his fellow tourists into murderous "psychopaths". Due to the language barrier between the officers and the victim, nothing could be done. However, a member of Foundation personnel, who was a mole at the station at the time, overheard the report and quickly contacted the Foundation. Site-210 was established at SCP-XXXX and testing began effective immediately.

Item №: XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: [ABSENT DUE TO ANOMALOUS INTERFERENCE]

Description:

EXT - TOKYO - NIGHT

Rain pours, neon lights filtering through it, reflecting it off the puddles on the street. A MAN, dressed in a dripping trenchcoat is seen in silhouette. He walks through a door, with the words "Koyozaki Kaiseki" in English and Japanese above it. We read a subtitle …

CHAPTER ONE

ONCE UPON A TIME IN …

THE ANOMALOUS WORLD

The subtitle is replaced by another one;

2021, Tokyo, Japan

The MAN keeps walking, removing his coat and shoes in the foyer. A WAITRESS walks up to him, speaking to him in SUBTITLED JAPANESE

WAITRESS

Good evening sir. I assume you're booked with Mr Belanger?

MAN

So I am.

WAITRESS

And then you must be James Mandel?

The MAN nods. He doesn't like the name, MANDEL. Too … posh.

Would you like me to take your briefcase, sir?

She gestures to the leather briefcase in his hands. The briefcase is black and ornately patterned. The initials "C.M" are seen on one side.

MANDEL

Oh no, I'm fine, thank you. Just show me to my seat.

She obliges. We see the inside of the restaurant - a Kaiseki place, considered high-end in Japan. The owner appears to have forgone a more modern style of decoration in exchange for a wall lined with old hunting rifles and swords. The kitchen can be seen from within the restaurant, several guns hung over the wall above the oven. The establishment is filled with guards … new to the place, based on their expressions. Otherwise, the place is empty. MANDEL is lead to a small private room off one side of the restaurant.

The private room is separated from the rest of the establishment by a sliding screen door and contains a POSH MAN and his BUTLER. The POSH MAN speaks to MANDEL, in SUBTITLED FRENCH.

POSH MAN

Ah … you are James Mandel, no? Please, sit down. Would you prefer we converse in English? Japanese?

MANDEL sits down. He replies in ENGLISH.

MANDEL

I'll speak the kings if I could.

POSH MAN

You do a better job as a posh brit than me.

MANDEL stares at him before the POSH MAN laughs. MANDEL laughs, unsure of himself

Ah! Je suis desole! I have yet to formally introduce myself in person. I am Eugene Belanger - as you know, and you are of course the lovely James Mandel. I believe you were here to discuss a proposition?

MANDEL

That is correct. I hear that you are implicated in the trade of … the magical, the unusual, the anomalous - Whatever you wish to call it.

BELANGER

Precisely so! I represent a company known as Marshall, Carter, and Dark Ltd. I'm sure you'd know who they are, given your implication in a previous scandal involving them - don't you think?

MANDEL shifts in his seat. BELANGER tries to catch his eye, but he looks at the floor.

MANDEL

Yes … ahem … I was falsely accused of being a member of the Ermin Eight. As a socialite like you, I naturally appear at a variety of events. The Eight were so prevalent back around '98 and '99 it's inevitable that I would have crossed into one of their shenanigans eventually. Eventually, the numbskull who put the charges in dropped them - no evidence, you know the deal.

BELANGER

I do. I saw an article on the whole affair while looking into you - basic background checks, the like. My methods … have been, er … how do I put it, unpopular with some people. I could not of course sell my lovely products if one poor soul came to me with a bomb or a gun and killed me. Perhaps I could figure out a way, even then, but it would be a massive inconvenience nonetheless. So I don't let that happen - no, I check and I look into everyone I meet - everyone.

MANDEL is silent.

Do you understand why I look for these things?
