Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept on a field made of artificial turf, in a rectangular shape, with the length of 360 feet even on both sides, and 160 feet on both ends. There is to be white paint, resembling that of a regulation high school American football field painted across the turf. 2 sets of bleachers must be set 20 feet away from the sidelines, each being able to contain at least 50 spectators, and a maximum of 2,000, and at least 20 MTF agents scattered throughout. In order to keep SCP-XXXX in contempt, a football game with 2 teams containing D-Class personnel must participate in a full 15 minute quarter contest with a 20 minute halftime, every Saturday in the fall for 15 weeks beginning on the first Saturday in September, unless August 29th, 30th, or 31st is a Saturday. At least 1 game should be played on a Thursday following the first three weeks of play. Game times need to be split as evenly as possible, between the times of 11:00 AM CT, 3:25 PM CT, and 7:30 PM CT. Additionally, a full set of coaches, a full referee staff minus the line judge, and other necessary staff are required to attend the games. SCP-XXXX has proven to be extremely hostile towards any sentient creature within 6.8 miles of him when there is not a game being played at these specific times. These are to be composed of D-Class personnel, who have received the proper training before the season has begun. Stands must also be full, with D-Class personnel wearing the colors of the jerseys that the team is wearing. Each side must be wearing only 1 team's colors, unless both teams share the same colored uniform.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a humanoid entity resembling an American football referee of African-American descent. The entity has male features, and stands at 5’6” in height, and is approximately 212 lbs in weight. The entity has been seen consistently with a small black whistle, labeled SCP-XXXX-1, and a yellow flag, labeled SCP-XXXX-2. The hat, referee uniform, as well as pants, shoes, and socks, all seem to be a part of SCP-XXXX’s bone structure. SCP-XXXX only appears 5 minutes before the start of each game, in the northwest endzone, and will disappear at the final whistle signalling the end of the game. This cycle will repeat 12 times on Saturdays, and 1 Thursday from the dates of 8/29-12/12, with 3 Saturdays taken off (excluding the week of the singular Thursday match). SCP-XXXX appears to be sentient, however, will not respond to any person outside of the coaching staff of either team during the game.
After the game, SCP-XXXX will exchange a fist bump and the words “good game” with each player after the game, as well as the head coach of each team. During each contest, SCP-XXXX will call the game with flawlessness, and never has gotten a call incorrectly. It appears that the entity is able to detect minor fragments of white grass stepped on by a player, and will blow on SCP-XXXX-1 instantly, marking the end of the play, as the player has stepped out of bounds. SCP-XXXX also seems to be able to make calls on opposite ends of the field, showing that the entity has no limitation to sight, or that the entity can detect the most minor movement from distances not humanly possible.

Addendum: INCIDENT 01: THE [REDACTED] WILDCATS VS THE [REDACTED] PANTHERS
On November 17, 2018, a football team out of [REDACTED], made up of 61 D-Class personnel deemed the Wildcats, were playing another team, nicknamed the Panthers, composed of 58 D-Class personnel out of [REDACTED]. The Wildcats had managed to score 55 points through 4 quarters, as the Panthers managed to put up 28. The Panthers had become increasingly hostile towards the end of the game, and as the tensions were at a peak, a D-Class of the Panthers, had struck a defenseless D-Class from the Wildcats team, knocking him unconscious using blunt force with his helmet. Both sidelines had cleared, and the 2 teams were in a fist fight gathered at the 50 yard line. SCP-XXXX had stepped in to clear the fight, but was struck by an unknown D-Class. SCP-XXXX then proceeded to activate SCP-5528-1, and the anonymous D-Class personnel was turned into a red plasma. The D-Class was later recognized as D-22.
SCP-XXXX remained hostile for 2 minutes, and 36 seconds,at which point he had tossed SCP-XXXX-2 into the field, annihilating all subjects at the moment the object had touched the ground. Every sentient creature within a 6.8 mile radius had also been annihilated. This event has caused 20 MTF agents to be in the stands of each game from this point on, and are instructed to eliminate any non-permitted personnel that step within a 6.8 mile radius of the bleachers, and any D-Class that seem to be getting aggressive.

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures: As of May 1945, demolition of SCP-X has been in the hands of Foundation front organisations who are to routinely observe it for activity and hamper its regeneration attempts. Although the use of high explosives in pursuit of this goal is authorized, it is preferable that manual labor be used in order to keep public attention away from SCP-X.

Description: SCP-X refers to a series of sparse degraded complexes of fortifications, trenches and bunkers stretching from the Dutch-German Border to the Swiss-German Border. SCP-X is self constructing and self regenerating, expanding existing trench networks and creating new bunkers and pill boxes along its length. Although SCP-X nominally uses rebar reinforced concrete for this, many structures have been seen to be made out of dirt, wood, and stone. Arial views of SCP-X have revealed that expanded structures take on new complex shapes, nominally that of the 'Wolfsangel'.

Metallic structures approximately 12-20 feet below the ground have been seen to expand several miles outward from SCP-X. It is currently unknown what purpose if any these serve.

Addendum:

In 1945, while doing reconnaissance, the British Occult Service uncovered a communication line transmitting to what is now known as SCP-X. Data gained from this has been minimal as transmissions ended shortly after the network could be decoded and recorded.

Incident XXXX-C
Date: 07/07/1945

Demolition Team Alpha, consisting of 12 D-Class personnel and 6 agents, is tasked with unearthing the metallic structures expanding out of SCP-X for further research.

Mobile Task Force Lambda-7 'Fox Hounds', due to their close proximity, is called in after Demolition Team Alpha sends out a distress call. Task Force engages several hostiles that were using SCP-X as cover. Hostiles are extremely ferocious and leave several Task Force Agents injured. 22 hostiles are killed before Lambda-7 are forced to retreat.

Foundation Response teams arrive several hours later under the guise of United States Military personnel, Demolition Team Alpha is found wiped out at dig site.

Response teams surround 230 recorded hostiles continuing to use SCP-X as cover before engaging from afar with M2 Mortars. All hostiles reported dead after six hours of engagment.

Response teams suffered 32 casualties.

Assailants were found to be dressed in worn military uniform and armed with an assortment of weaponry including bolt action rifles and light machine guns. Autopsy revealed that a significant portion of the assailants skeletal structure had been replaced with rebar.

Item #: SCP-5217

Object Class: Euclid

scp%20mask

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5217 needs to be contained in a 5m by 5m cell block. The special containment cell should atleast have two 2m by 2m wide cast of a mixture of healthy nutrients, gravel, dirt for SCP-5217-2 to be planted by SCP-5217. SCP-5217 does not require any kinds of sustenance, regardless of eating SCP-5217 does not show any forms of malnourishment. To safely experiment on SCP-5217 and SCP-5217-2, total of 2 test subjects and 2 scientists armed with firearms must enter SCP-5217's cell block, further on the experiment the two test subjects must get the attention of SCP-5217 to not think about the remaining two scientists. On SCP-5217's cell block's wallls, there must be atleast 5 functioning gas pipes to counter SCP-5217's any attempts of breaching its containment.
The pipes must be ready to be used, loaded with C4H8CI2S gas. If SCP-5217 do attempts to escape its containment, every entrance to the cell wil close and the C4H8CI2S gas will be released immediately killing any organic substance in the cell but not SCP-5217 and SCP-5217-2.
So far there are no known ways to safely transfer SCP-5217-2 to another cell, due to SCP-5217's aggresive way of protecting SCP-5217-2. SCP-5217 and SCP-5217-2 should be monitored every 2 hours in a day. For safety measures always check SCP-5217 ankles.

Description: SCP-5217 highly resembles a humanoid sexless figure with ankles that are broken every 2 months, so far we don't know why SCP-5217 does this behaviour. SCP-5217 is 1.74 meters tall with a weight of 64.18 kg. SCP-5217 wears a uniform which is a sewed combination of both old and new military uniforms, SCP-5217 wears an old WW2 gas mask with a broken filter, on SCP-5217's scalp there is a cut in the shape of a circle showing , the dates dating back to 10.0000 BC to our current year. These dates are regarded as important because such dates appear to be present like 1939 and 1861 which are two major wars in our history. These dates resemble major wars, these dates are changeing if a major war is starting. So far there is no explanation on why this is happening. SCP-5217 carries a variety of firearms with itself from different ages such as a hunting spear to a 35M rifle which has a serial number that can be traced back to Hunagry.

SCP-5217 is calm and friendly towards test subjects but is higly resilliant to even look at scientists. SCP-5217 only becomes aggressive when someon tries to transfer SCP-5217-2 from its planted ground to another test chamber. These aggresion ticks can vary from mild to lethal these include scratching, punching, or even SCP-5217 uses one of its firearms to stop the transfering of SCP-5217-2. When SCP-5217 scratches someone, that person becomes an SCP-5217-3-24. At first SCP-5217-3-24 will start to fell uneased and discomforted just by anything then SCP-5217-3-24 wil start to be depressed and anti-social towards anyone, finally after 48 hours after the incident SCP-5217-3-24 will start to bite and scratch the area where SCP-5217 punched or scratched SCP-5217-3-24.1. SCP-5217-2 is always the same size every year exactly 20 centimeters in length. SCP-5217-2 has an un tested ring circling around it in a clock wise direction, the spinning ring does not stop until SCP-5217 plants another flower.

Addendum:
-SCP-5217-2 is planted by SCP-5217 every year and cared for by SCP-5217 every time, it seems as SCP-5217 is protecting the flower at all cost, we don't know why but with further research maybe we could crack this behaviours inner secrets. With time.
-SCP-5217 was found at the Erdély part of Hunagry's and Romania's border.
-Dr. Oath and Dr. Benneth were told to test and experiment on SCP-5217 and SCP-5217-2
-When SCP-5217-3-24 is in its final hours to ease the pain, at least three security guards picked by a MTF commander may enter and ease its pain by eliminating SCP-5217-3-24.
-To enter SCP-5217's cell block, a scientist must use his keycard to enter with the test subjects, to preform further tests and experiments.
-SCP-5217-2's true potentials or secrets are not yet been solved due to SCP-5217 aggresive nature protecting it, this way Dr.Benneth and Dr. Oath cannot run their

Experimentation tests: by Dr. Benneth
On SCP-5217-3-24, SCP-5217-3-25

Test A - 2021.01.09

Subject:
SCP-5217-3-24
Procedure:
Monitoring and testing functioning capabilities
Results:
FAILED
Analysis:

Dr. Oath went into SCP-5217-3-241's containment cell with a security guard to test SCP-5217-3-24's reflexes, 24 hour after the contact with SCP-5217. First Dr. Oath tried speaking to SCP-5217-3-24 but he did not responded clearly, only murmuring the dates that are visible on SCP-5217's scalp. Then Dr. Oath started pokeing SCP-5217-3-24 on various parts of his body with a thin aluminium rod to test his reflexes. This test failed miserably because SCP-5217-3-24 started acting more like SCP-096. SCP-5217-3-24 started crying until he started running at full force at Dr.Oath, the security guard who was within the cell had to eliminate SCP-5217-3-24.
This unexplainable behaviour is being researched by Dr. Oath and Dr. Benneth

Test B - 2021.03.16.

Subject:
SCP-5217-3-25
Procedure:
Personality change analysis
Results:
SUCCES
Analysis:

After another contact with SCP-5217. Firstly now 31 hours after contact with SCP-5217, SCP-5217-3-25 was acting the same way as SCP-5217-3-24 did. Dr. Oath tested the same experiments that he did with SCP-5217-3-24. SCP-5217-3-25 became aggresive again but acted differently this time, he started acting like SCP-173, only moving when not looked at and casually trying to snap his victims necks. Again a security guard had to take SCP-5217-3-25 down.
It seems that every SCP-5217-3-XX after contact with SCP-5217, it changes personality to more dangerous SCPs in the facility.
This behaviour cannot be explained because SCP-5217 did not either seen or contacted these SCPs.

SCP-XXXX in containment

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a 6 x 6 x 6 meter containment chamber. This containment chamber is to be outfitted with 2m thick reinforced steel walls with water surrounding SCP-XXXX to try minimalise its effects. Any other instances of SCP-XXXX are to be contained in a separate containment chamber with identical containment procedures. These separate chambers can hold up to three (3) instances of SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX and SCP-XXXX-A instances should not get destroyed under any circumstances.

Description: SCP-XXXX refers to a 1 x 2 x 1 meter box. This cardboard box resembles cardboard boxes used by ███████ company. SCP-XXXX is sealed shut with plastic packaging tape but is still capable of opening through anomalous means.

SCP-XXXX is capable of consuming sentient life2. When it fully digests3 a sentient being another replica of SCP-XXXX (these are designated SCP-XXXX-A) will manifest in a 5 meter radius of SCP-XXXX (these instances are designated SCP-XXXX-A). Instances of SCP-XXXX-A retain similar behavior to their previous state but will not attack SCP-XXXX or any SCP-XXXX-A instances. SCP-XXXX shows extreme intelligence4 and strength and can break most materials therefor making it very hard to contain. SCP-XXXX is highly resistant to damage but is still capable of being destroyed, SCP-XXXX-A are less resistant to damage.

SCP-XXXX will enter a 'dormant' state and this state will last from one (1) hour to three (3) months. Once SCP-XXXX has exited the dormant state it will enter its 'active' state (all SCP-XXXX-A instances will also go into the active state), during the active state SCP-XXXX will attempt to breach containment and seek any sentient life5 to consume. The active state will end once a sufficient6 amount of SCP-XXXX-A instances are created.

Item #: SCP-5262

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5262 is contained in the server room at Site-███. No less than 2 guards must be on standby at any time. Level 3 clearance is required to enter. In any event of SCP-5262 breaching containment, all major server and antivirus companies must be informed of its breach.

Description: SCP-5262 is a computer virus that spreads via botnets. Upon infection of a device (designated SCP-5262-1), it will slowly start spreading to nearby computers connected to the internet and it will begin encryption of all files on SCP-5262-1's computer. This process takes approximately 10 minutes, no matter how much file space has been taken up on the computer.

Shortly after encryption, SCP-5262 will begin changing the background image of SCP-5262-1's computer. The image (designated SCP-5262-2) is a memetic hazard and will send the viewer of SCP-5262-2 into a state of emotional distress causing suicide exactly 24 hours after viewing SCP-5262-2.

During testing, SCP-5262-1's polarizing screen on its virtual machine must be removed. Specific polarizing glasses have been made for viewing SCP-5262-2. This prevents the SCP-5262-2 from being seen for research staff.

Addendum 5262.1: SCP-5262 breached containment on ██/██/██. The cause of the breach is unknown. After this breach, all major antivirus software companies have been informed of the danger and have prevented infection of computers

Addendum 5262.2 On ██/██/██, monitoring of SCP-5262 has concluded that the virus is able to adapt to changes made in antiviruses. How SCP-5262 can modify itself is undetermined. Any changes in SCP-5262 must be reported to Dr.█████ and all antivirus companies until notified that the adaptation has been classified as harmless.

Addendum 5262.3: SCP-5262-2's can now affect anyone, even without the polarizing screen. Attempts at viewing with security cameras or infrared still pose the same effects. SCP-5262 testing must only use audio recordings from now on.

Usage

To import this theme to your page, put the following anywhere inside it:

[[include :scp-wiki:theme:creepypasta]]

The standard CSS @import method won't work. This is intentional (thanks to stormbreathstormbreath for providing the CSS code!). Importing the theme using [[include]] adds your page to a list of Backlinks. This is useful for seeing what pages would be affected when this theme is updated, and allows any errors caused by that to be noticed and corrected much faster.

You can view any page's Backlinks by clicking "+ Options" at the bottom of the page, then "Backlinks".

Examples

Parawatch Logo.

A horizontal rule can be created with 5 hyphens "-----" and extends across the whole page if it's not placed inside anything (eg a blockquote). The lines separating sections of this document are horizontal rules.

Titles can be created by putting between one and six plus "+" at the start of the line

This is a tab view.

This is a blockquote, created by putting "> " at the start of each line.

Weirdest Date Thread?

Since starting my freshman year of college I've been yelled at by my friends to start using Tinder and Bumble. Never really been a hookup guy so I've put it off using it. Decided over the weekend to try it out. I landed a few matches here and there, some led to phone numbers being exchanged, and from that, I had a single meet-up planned.

Beautiful girl, we'll call her Madison. Literally my perfect girl

Great catfish pun.

This place isn't for your shitty half attempt at being funny. Go somewhere else.

DATE: 16 Mar 2021 02:14

I typed away.

To my dismay.

Dear Director Nakamura of Site 33,

I know there was more than a little confusion after our last shared fiasco, but using that to steal our equipment was rather rude, especially considering we showed up to aid your fireteam.

Specifically, I humbly beg you to return the 3rd Wandswoman of Trenash's sidearm. I know a gun that fires ethereal bullets must be right up your containment specialists' alley, but please just give it back. If you want to study it or something I'll happily have a copy commissioned for you.

Sincerely,

The Fourth Wandswoman of Chelon, Elected Arbiter for Planet Earth.

I folded the paper with a groan.

I hoped I'd managed a reasoned tone

For the SCP Foundation

Had quite a nasty reputation

For being rather paranoid

Though I suppose when you avoid

The apocalypse every day

It rather strips humor away.

Exhausted yet my head did shake

"Enough of this. I need a break…"

~#~

As I made my way to the office bath

I admit, I suppressed a laugh.

For a moment I had in my mind,

A body that others did yet find,

Attractive. What a silly thing

to think of when my ears did ring

With all the latest proclamations

Of all my form’s cruel dementations

So naked went I to the water

Splashing gaily like an otter.

For I had worked so hard to be

A far more digestible form of me

For *hours* or at least that’s as it felt

And I know it’s just the hand I dealt

My self when I said I was sure

I’d make the finest arbiter

Earth was a strange and brutal place

Yet in spite of all the trials I’d faced

None vexed me more than speaking plain…

Though I supposed my work was not in vain.

A foundation was what I hoped I’d built

On our shared sense of guilt

For all the crimes that would ensure a

Tomorrow for I, and Nakamura

Into the bath came a withered bird

Luxuriating in the water stirred.

I saw him peek at my strange form

He chuckled, though without much scorn

He said:

“I know this is wrong
But I have to say you are
The most beautiful”

My training in language was quite excess

So many things could I express

“You’re an excellent liar.” I said.

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to contained within a 5m x 5m x 2m grass field in its containment chamber, the outside doors of SCP-XXXX its containment chamber are to be locked when no testing is being conducted.
Foundation personal must show emotional affection to SCP-XXXX at least every day to decrease the chance of any further containment breaches.

No personnel under level 3 clearance are allowed to enter SCP-XXXX its containment chamber with the exception of D-Class personnel for testing purposes.
SCP-XXXX has been fitted with a GPS tracking chip for the purpose of easing re-containment should a containment breach occur. This tracker should be replaced once every three (3) months to assure it’s in working state when needed.

If SCP-XXXX breaches containment MTF Eta-10 ("See No Evil") aided by a staff team of GoI-466 (Wilson's Wildlife Solutions) are to be send to the current location of SCP-XXXX’s GPS tracker.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a white Angora rabbit measuring 20 centimetres in length and weighing 1.5 kilograms in mass. SCP-XXXX has proven to have the ability to teleport and create fur balls instances of itself (SCP-XXXX-1) that can be hostile towards other humans or animal species.
SCP-XXXX also appears to age slower than other human or animal species as testing reveals it to be two (2) years old according to its age characteristics despite it being in containment for five (5) years.

SCP-XXXX is resistant to any forms of damage currently known by the foundation and it is currently unknown whether SCP-XXXX has eternal life or not. Although testing has shown that SCP-XXXX is resistant to damage, inflicting damage on it has been proven to result in it creating more SCP-XXXX-1 instances then normally.

Due to the possible hostility of SCP-XXXX-1 instances, any and all attempts to terminate SCP-XXXX have since been advised against for safety reasons. As a result of this SCP-XXXX has to be cared for like any other non-anomalous rabbit of its kind until it reaches the end of its expected life span, this is currently estimated to be ninety (90) years.

Discovery: SCP-XXXX was first discovered at Whin Park in Inverness, Scotland.
Foundation staff were informed about a white rabbit causing people to seemingly seize what they were doing.

MTF Beta-4 ("Castaways") assisted by a staff group of GoI-466 (Wilson's Wildlife Solutions) were send out to investigate. Upon arrival at the scene SCP-XXXX was found on the edge of the park grounds surrounded by 27 instances of SCP-XXXX-1. Both groups were taken hostage by the effects of SCP-XXXX-1 upon establishing direct eye contact with it with the exception of MTF Beta-4 unit 3 who was wearing dark tinted sunglasses at the time of acquisition.

MTF Beta-4 proceeded to terminate all 27 instances of SCP-XXXX-1 followed by an unsuccessful attempt at terminating SCP-XXXX. While being shot at, SCP-XXXX rapidly produced 12 more instances of SCP-XXXX-1. All of which were terminated via gunfire shortly after.
SCP-XXXX was locked in a standard animal holding cell with the assistance of a second team from GoI-446 that arrived on the scene. SCP-XXXX was transported to the foundation and had created 2 more SCP-XXXX-1 instances upon arrival at Site-66.

All MTF Beta-4 and GoI-466 units taken hostage by the SCP-XXXX-1 instances returned to duty after being given medical treatment.

Addendum XXXX-A – Initial testing:
Testing on SCP-XXXX was carried out to determine the effectiveness and approach of SCP-XXXX-1’s attacking method. It was revealed that SCP-XXXX-1’s attack method is only effective when its victim is making direct eye contact with SCP-XXXX-1 with nothing in line of sight between the victim’s eyes and SCP-XXXX-1.

Special containment procedures where updated requiring all personnel handing SCP-XXXX to wear a pair of category 4 rated sunglasses near and in its containment chamber.
For more information about testing procedure and results, refer to test logs: A1, A2, A3 and A4.

Addendum XXXX-B – Post-Testing log:
Test results have shown the capabilities and attack patterns of SCP-XXXX-1.
These results have hereby been documented as:

Addendum XXXX-C1 Incident 1:
On ██/██/████ SCP-XXXX was reported missing by site personnel monitoring its containment.
MTF Beta-4 and MTF Eta-10 ("See No Evil") were dispatched to search and recover SCP-XXXX back to site-66. GoI-466 had been informed by the foundation about the breach and SCP-XXXX’s new containment procedures.

After a six-hour long search SCP-XXXX was reported at the location it was first discovered during its initial containment. MTF Beta-4 was first on the scene capturing SCP-XXXX and terminating 8 instances of SCP-XXXX-1. At the time of capture it was unknown how SCP-XXXX breached containment and what path it had travelled between the beginning and end of its escape attempt.
MTF Eta-10 was ordered to keep on standby to deal with any reports of SCP-XXXX-1 sightings, 6 sightings were reported and dealt with in the following 24-hour period after which the mission was called to an end by command.

Addendum XXXX-C2 – Post-Incident 1 log:
It’s currently unknown how SCP-XXXX breached containment, it’s believed that SCP-XXXX has the ability of teleportation. Further research has to be done in order to verify this.
As of ██/██/████ SCP-XXXX will now be fitted with a GPS tracking chip with the purpose of easing re-containment when a containment breach occurs. This tracker should be replaced once every three (3) months to assure it’s in working state when needed.

Addendum XXXX-E1 Incident 2:
On ██/██/████ SCP-XXXX was reported missing again by site personnel monitoring its containment.

MTF Eta-10 and a group from GoI-466 were dispatched to the location of its GPS tracker and captured SCP-XXXX 13 minutes after it breached containment.
As during Incident 1: MTF Eta-10 was ordered to keep on standby to deal with any reports of SCP-XXXX-1 sightings. 0 sightings were reported in the following 24-hour period and MTF Eta-10 was called off.

Addendum XXXX-E2 – Post-Incident 2 log:
The GPS tracker on SCP-XXXX has fulfilled its purpose, thanks to it MTF Eta-10 was able to re-contain SCP-XXXX within a 15-minute window.

Dr. ██████, head of containment for SCP-XXXX has been asked by the site director to explain what happened.

Addendum XXXX-E4 – Post-Interview log:
After the interview it has been decided SCP-XXXX will get visits every day in order to “please it” with the end goal of minimizing or preventing future containment breaches.

Addendum XXXX-E5 – Post-Experiment log:
The new regulations regarding SCP-XXXX’s visits have proven to be effective for the past 3 weeks.
The regulations have now been added to its containment procedures.

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is currently being stored in a secure room at Site 19’s High Value Item Storage Facility. SCP-XXXX’s containment room is completely covered on all interior surfaces by LED globes which constantly emit bright white light; these globes are to remain ON and functioning at all times, and routine checks on functionality are required at least twice a week. While inside this secure room each instance of SCP-XXXX is to remain atop a bench at the centre of the room. Access to and subsequent testing with SCP-XXXX must be by permission of site personnel with level 2 clearance or higher, and can only be granted after submitting a formal request to site command.

In addition SCP-XXXX-h-1 and SCP-XXXX-h-2 are to be kept in a locked strongbox in the adjacent secure room designated: Dark Storage. NO LIGHT below the Infrared spectrum is to be brought into Dark Storage under any circumstances. Only staff with level 3 clearance of higher may enter Dark Storage without supervision.
Note: Please see on-site armoury for access to Infrared vision aid apparatus before entering Dark Storage.

Description: SCP-XXXX refers to eight separate items of ordinary looking late 19th century sewing equipment which present varying anomalous qualities when interacting with shadows. Each instance is distinctly different from the others save that all instances have the same marking of what appears to be an old fashioned spinning wheel flanked by two crescent moons.

The item descriptions are listed below:

SCP-XXXX-a is a sewing needle 4.5cm in length and composed of steel, with fig.1 0.8mm wide engraved near the needle’s eye.

  • When affixed with a length of thread from XXXX-b, the needle can be utilized to ‘sew’ shadows together. When pressed against a shadowed spot on a surface, the shadow will lift and crinkle slightly as though it were made of fabric. If pushed further the needle will ‘pass through’ the shadow as a regular needle does through regular fabric. If the shadows from two separate objects are ‘overlapping’ each other (i.e. the effect that is evident when multiple light sources are shining from different directions on multiple spaced out objects, especially evident when the light sources are different colours) the needle can be used to ‘sew’ them together. When the shadows of two objects are ‘sewn’ together, the shadows cannot separate from each other, stretching and distorting as the objects move around or away from each other with apparently no limit to distance; this effect has been observed with distances of upwards of 50km.
  • There appears to be no detectable adverse physical or medical effects to ‘sewing’ together the shadows of living specimens. Feelings of mild mental distress are quite common, at this stage it is unclear whether this is an anomalous effect, or just a previously unobserved natural reaction to one’s shadow being altered and distorted.

SCP-XXXX-b is a thread-spool composed of pine and tin, holding about 123cm 103cm of jet black thread. fig.1 is engraved into the top of the spool.

  • The black thread does not cast a shadow, nor does it seem to reflect any light at all. The thread cannot be lifted by normal means, as far as we can tell only the SCP-XXXX objects can even interact, as all other material objects just pass right through it as if through a shadow; BECAUSE OF THIS JUNIOR RESEARCHERS ARE TO NEVER COMPLETELY REMOVE THE THREAD FROM THE SPOOL WITHOUT SUPERVISION FROM A SUPERIOR. It does not have any apparent weight, as the spool weighs exactly the same as without the thread attached.

SCP-XXXX-c Is 13 steel pins, each about 3.2cm long with slight variations of 2mm or less, all bearing fig.1 on the wooden head of the pin.

  • The pins work in very much the same way as the needle with thread, one may insert it through multiple overlapped shadows to ‘pin’ them together. The main difference being that the pins are much easier to remove as they can be pulled out by hand with no extra equipment. In addition, if the two ‘pinned’ objects move around 3.3 meters from their origin point the pins will simply fall out, and the shadows will snap back to a normal position in a manner similar to elastic.

SCP-XXXX-d is a ruler 15.2cm in length, and 2.5cm wide. The ruler’s anomalous qualities have not yet been determined.

  • This item is still kept in containment with the other SCP-XXXX items as it too is branded with fig.1, and so it is likely to have as of yet unknown anomalous properties. Research is ongoing.

SCP-XXXX-e is a seam ripper 11.4cm in length and composed of steel, with fig.1 embossed onto its red leather handle. This tool can be used to unpick stitches that have been sewn into a shadow.

  • This seam ripper is the only known method of removing stitching done by XXXX-a. Once unpicked, the XXXX-b thread may be used again, and does not appear to suffer any damage at all by the process. It can often prove quite difficult to find the stitching on a given shadow, and use of XXXX-g is often required.

SCP-XXXX-f is a palm-sized triangular piece of white, cloth chalk. The chalk does function as normal cloth chalk, but also has the unique ability to ‘draw’ on shadows.

  • Our understanding of shadows as entities separate from just the absence of light is apparently still in its infancy as the entire Site 19 research team cannot figure out why, if you are behind an object far larger than yourself and you are completely in its shadow, the chalk still recognises where your shadow would be in relation to the light source. It truly boggles the mind. As such it proves immensely difficult to ‘draw’ on a shadow that isn’t your own, except with the use of XXXX-g.
  • It was at first thought impossible to remove a marking from a shadow, as Researcher Cara G_ spent the better part of a week with a “smiley face” roughly drawn on the head of her shadow, the humour was lost on her after the first hour. She later discovered that by entering a place where you ‘have no shadow’ such as a tanning bed.

SCP-XXXX-g is a pair of supple elbow-length white leather gloves, with fig.1 embroidered in the back of each glove. These gloves appear to have been tailored for an individual with unusually thin hands, (as such testing with them has been quite limited as select only a few individuals on-site can actually fit them over their hands).

  • They do not cast a shadow, nor do they appear to interact with light in any normal sense, other than reflecting enough light to give its white colour. Upon further experimentation it has been found that the gloves in fact do not reflect light, but instead emit a small amount of visible white light at all times. The intensity of light does grow or diminish based on the light intensity of the environment; Experiment-XXXX-g-a.
  • These gloves allow their wearer to interact with, and handle shadow as though it were fabric. One may slip their hand over a shadow cast on the ground, and the shadow will not move to cast on the hand as well, as though it were just ‘passing through’ the gloved hand. In addition one may slide their hand under a shadow and lift it from the ground revealing, as far as we can tell, a space of ground that is lit by a non-existent light source.
  • XXXX-g has given us a very unique opportunity, as never before has anyone been able to discern the texture of a shadow; as described by Dr. _, it is “like silk with an innumerable thread count, inconceivable fine weave.” While wearing XXXX-g shadow does not seem to be nearly as elastic as it seems to have in tests with XXXX-a, having far greater resistance when under physical strain. Though we have done quite thorough testing, shadow proves to be apparently impervious to being torn by human strength.

SCP-XXXX-h is a pair of 20.3cm long steel fabric shears, with a rotating thumb-grip adapted for ambidextrous usage.

  • The material of the shears interacts with shadows in the same way as XXXX-a/c/e, being able to shift and wrinkle the shadow with light pressure. In addition they can cut the shadow as you would cut fabric. The shadow seems to act as though it were woven of threads, as simply closing the shears whilst keeping them still does not cut the shadow, one is required to slide the shears along, generally also requiring the use of XXXX-g to grip one end of the shadow.
  • When the shadow of an object is partially cut, there does not appear to be any observable physical change to the object. The ‘piece’ of shadow can be handled, folded, moved around, acting quite similar to thin silk.
