Proofreaders be advised: in the first few parts, SCP-5XXX-A is the name of the human. "Failed hatching" is the name of the instance. I've definitely mixed them up a few times, so if you spot any of them, please tell me

Item #: SCP-5XXX
Object Class: keter
Special Containment Procedures:
Subject R., Hosting the only instance of a failed hatch SCP-5XXX, is to be housed on site-06-3 premises, undergoing regular inspections by a psychiatrist.
Subject R.'s mental stability is key to the confinement of SCP-5XXX. As such, the following measures are necessary to keep her mental health in check:
- Dignity: Subject R. is to be referred to by her name, and not as "SCP-5XXX". surveillance equipment, while present and recording, will be said to only operate between 10am-18pm.
- Basic comfort: Subject R. is to be allowed food, sleep, and hygiene of decent quality.
- Distraction: Subject R. is to be given access to entertainment of her choice, vetted by research staff.
- Activity: Subject R. is to be given access to exercise equipment, study material, and a basic kitchen.
- Social interaction: Subject R. is to be visited regularly by appropriate members of staff outside of her appointed psychoanalysis personnel.
Phase 1: establishing the framework interview, test.
Phase 2: Exploring the framework Subject R. is not contagious unless under mnestics therapy.
Phase 3: Breaking the framework more testing and interviews. Discovered thingy
Phase 4: story climax Confrontation. climax. funtimes.

Item #: SCP-5XXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: All instances of mature SCP-5XXX must be quarantined in a cognitohazard containment unit featuring a bulletproof glass divider. the divider is to be covered with a retractable metal panel for visual shielding. The panel is to remain engaged at all times unless otherwise specified by an assigned researcher. The room will also include an airlock system, and a non-automatic class-A amnestic gas disperser.
Anyone visiting a mature instance of SCP-5XXX must carry class-B amnestics on their person at all times.
Mature SCP-5XXX instances, while forceful, are not physically hostile.
Anyone suspecting they may have made direct eye contact with SCP-5XXX must expunge all memories of the event immediately, unless continuously supervised by a researcher with a level 4 clearance or higher. Unless maturation is desired for study purposes, maintaining memories of an exposure to a mature SCP-5XXX is to be restricted to 18 days.
SCP-5XXX-A, (formerly known as R████ █████), is a host to an instance of SCP-5XXX which has failed to hatch. As it appears to still be sentient, SCP-5XXX-A is to be kept in a similar yet separate cognitohazard containment cell, furished for standard humanoid containment. On top of that, SCP-5XXX-A will undergo frequent psychiatric observation, twice-weekly psychiatric evaluation and a weekly psychotherapy session.
SCP-5XXX-A displays no hostile tendencies, and is not physically dangerous.
Description: SCP-5XXX is a psychic contagion which, once matures, will spread its premature form to any sentient consciousness exposed to it.
Spread of the contagion is linked to the retention of a memory of the mature form. The use of amnestics, therefore, can prevent the outcome of an exposure.
SCP-5XXX-A, the host of "failed hatch", suffers from Dissociative Identity Disorder. This is thought to be the cause of its failure to activate.
In interviews, SCP-5XXX-A describes its instance as:
“A pitch black, shadowy ball of smoke, with five glowing red dots (eyes?) in the center”.
All instances of SCP-5XXX, with the exception of SCP-5XXX-A, are non-sentient and unable to parse language.
Incubation phase: SCP-5XXX has an average incubation phase of 3 weeks. During incubation, subjects infected with SCP-5XXX report a sharp increase to nightmares, both in quantity and intensity. Moderate sleep deprivation occurs, impairing cognitive functions within the expected norm.
Subjects display no noticeable visual changes.
Mature phase: Once its incubation phase is concluded, SCP-5XXX fully consumes (replaces) the host’s psyche. As SCP-5XXX is not sentient, the host’s functions degrade significantly upon replacement.
SCP-5XXX is capable of walking upright, holding and lifting objects, and feeding itself with its hands. It has been noted to use excessive force in its conduct, and displays no sense of pain or self-preservation.
Despite its violent and reckless behavior, mature SCP-5XXX instances are not hostile towards humans. It is therefore theorized that exposing themselves is a reproductive instinct, and not a defense mechanism.
Subjects display no visual changes.
SCP-5XXX-A ("Failed Hatch"): SCP-5XXX-A is a mature instance hosted by a subject with Dissociative Identity Disorder. The instance has “failed to activate”, resulting in none of the effects detailed below. It is hypothesized that SCP-5XXX-A was caused by its host’s DID, but a definitive explanation has not been found.
The following is an excerpt from an interview conducted with SCP-5XXX-A:
"I couldn't remember this creature. I still can't. I just had a few weeks of horrible dreams, and I didn't think much of it. ███ and ████, however, absolutely could see it. They told me it was trying to hurt me, and that it isn't a part of me. I remember being terrified… ████. told me he would kill this creature, and I believed him. The nightmares stopped after that, so I assume he did it. He refuses to talk about it."
It should be stated here that SCP-5XXX-A's DID is by no means anomalous.
Researchers looking into SCP-5XXX are strongly encouraged to familiarize themselves with the latest psychiatric literature on the condition.
Research staff: Research lead Dr. Frank Elliot, Assigned psychiatrist Dr. Wynonna Lee (observing)
Subjects: D-168245, D-273591, D-390626, D-469963, D-587494, D-693957.
Hypothesis: Exposure to SCP-5XXX-A can be safeguarded with sufficient protective measures.
Experiment Goal: To determine the nature of SCP-5XXX's spread, and what severity of measures is required to contain it.
Experiment process: Multiple D-Class personnel will create eye contact with SCP-5XXX-A. Contact will be filtered through different protective equipment. Subjects will be quarantined for 1 month post-exposure, and monitored for any changes.
Results of post-quarantine examination
- No filter (for control): Subject not affected.
- Clear reading glasses: Subject not affected.
- mirrored sunglasses: Subject not affected.
- Welding goggles: Subject not affected.
- Blindfold (Fabric, fully opaque): Subject not affected.
- A camera and a monitor: Subject not affected.
Conclusions and researcher's notes:
Results inconclusive.
Possible explanations to this may be:
- SCP-5XXX-A is in control of its abilities, and was sabotaging this experiment.
- SCP-5XXX-A is only active under certain conditions.
- Experiment may have been faulty.
Follow-up procedures:
- SCP-5XXX-A is to be questioned thoroughly. Use of moderate force and/or sanctions approved if deemed necessary.
- EX_5XXX_002 is to be conducted post-haste.
- Request for a repeat of this experiment with a larger sample size has been submitted.
[END OF LOG]
In attendance: Lead researcher Dr. Frank Elliot, Assigned psychiatrist Dr. Wynonna Lee.
Note: SCP-5XXX-A's eyes are covered with a telekill-plated helmet extending
Dr. Elliot: SCP-5XXX-A. On the third of April 2018 you have participated in an experiment designed to test potential means of protecting others from exposure to your condition.
SCP-5XXX-A nods, displaying attentive listening
Dr. Elliot: After a month of quarantine, none of the subjects tested displayed any changes, and have been deemed unaffected.
SCP-5XXX-A: They're all safe?! oh that's!
SCP-5XXX-A inhales deeply, and sighs, shuddering slightly. it then looks up, having composed itself
SCP-5XXX-A: Thank you so much. I'm very happy to hear that.
Body language is very sincere. The possibility SCP-5XXX-A is acting is extremely low. /Dr. Lee
Dr. Elliot: Indeed. However, this fails to clarify to us what measures need to be in place to keep your condition contained.
SCP-5XXX-A: I see… Yeah, that makes sense.
Dr. Elliot: Do you have any insight as to what might have caused this outcome?
SCP-5XXX-A leans its face atop its knuckles, seemingly in deep thought. this lasts 6 seconds.
SCP-5XXX-A: I assume it's because the crea…. SCP-5XXX-A… wasn't active?
Dr. Elliot: That is one of our hypotheses, yes. Anything else?
SCP-5XXX-A lowers its head for another 4 seconds
SCP-5XXX-A: I can't think of anything else, sorry. Could I ask why you're asking me this? I'm not a researcher.
Dr. Lee: Let me. SCP-5XXX-A- During testing, did you at any point hope for the subjects not to be affected? Could you describe any memory you have of your feelings back then?
SCP-5XXX-A: Of course. Give me a minute to try? Memory takes a lot of effort for me. you know how it is. Severe mental illness, trauma…
Dr. Lee: Take as long as you need.
SCP-5XXX-A places one of its palms on the front plate of its helmet, where its forehead would usually be. It lowers its head and sits in silence for 49 secodns.
SCP-5XXX-A Displays thoroughness in its efforts to cooperate. Intentional sabotage seems unlikely. /Dr. Lee
SCP-5XXX-A: Alright. Tried my best here, but it's very spotty. The whole thing was pretty terrifying.
pause for 3 seconds
SCP-5XXX-A: Well… I assume I did, I really don't want to hurt anyone… But… during I think it was the test with the reading glasses? The guy who has swastikas over his arms…
pause for 2 seconds
SCP-5XXX-A: I remember thinking something like "Well, this one can go, I wouldn't feel guilty". Something along these lines.
Dr. Elliot chuckles for 2 seconds before audibly clearing his throat
Dr. Lee: I think this rules "intent" out. Anything you'd like to add?
SCP-5XXX-A: Will there be a repeat of the experiment?
Dr. Elliot: Likely.
SCP-5XXX-A: In that case- why not test coloured contacts? or reflective contacts?
Dr. Elliot: Thank you, SCP-5XXX-A. That will be all.
SCP-5XXX-A: Could you call me by my name please?
[END OF INTERVIEW]
conclusions and notes:
SCP-5XXX-A displays extreme cooperation in everything from body language to thought processes. Likelihood of intentional sabotage is close to none.
Its remark about D-273591 makes "lack of intent to harm" a very unlikely explanation either.
Coloured and reflective contacts should be acquired for repeat testing.
SCP-5XXX-A is to be referred to by its official designation only, as per protocols.

Subject: Resource request for repeat of EX_5XXX_001
Prof. trench.
Attached are the logs from EX_5XXX_001.
As is probably clear, results are inconclusive and demand further testing.
I'd like to requisition 24 test subjects for a larger-scale, updated retry of EX_5XXX_001.
Secure, contain, protect
Dr. Frank Elliot, Level 3, head researcher on SCP-5XXX.
To: Dr. Frank Elliot
Subject: RE: Resource request for repeat of EX_5XXX_001
Request halted
Dear Dr. Elliot.
I've reviewed your request. While I appreciate your thoroughness, EX_5XXX_002 (experimenting on standard, mature specimen) and EX_5XXX_003 (Experiments with mnestics on 5XXX-A) take precedence in establishing SCP-5XXX's danger levels and required containment measurements.
Once EX_5XXX_002 and EX_5XXX_003 were conducted, please resubmit this request to me for reconsideration.
Secure, contain, protect

Research staff: Research lead Dr. Frank Elliot, assigned psychiatrist Dr. Wynonna Lee (Observing)
Subjects: D-165493, D-258639, D-385756, D-489732, D-598921, D-682010, D747392, D801729.
Hypothesis: SCP-5XXX-A can be induced into an "active state" by negating its host's memory suppression through the use of class-X mnestics.
Experiment goals: To determine SCP-5XXX-A's danger level and required containment procedures.
Experiment process: SCP-5XXX-A's head will be affixed to a chair, and its eyes forced open with ocular speculums. Once set, SCP-5XXX-A will be injected with a low dose of class-X mnestics. A guard behind SCP-5XXX-A will apply various protective gear to SCP-5XXX-A's eyes without creating eye-contact. A series of D-class personnel will then enter the room ad establish direct eye contact with SCP-5XXX-A for 10 seconds.
Observation is to be conducted exclusively behind SCP-5XXX-A
Excerpt from EX-5XXX_002 transcript
SCP-5XXX-A is struggling violently in its restraints. Rugged breath, snarling.
Dr. Elliot: 5XXX, please remain still!
Dr. Lee: I don't think it can process what you're saying, if it can even understand you stiill.
SCP-5XXX-A produces a choked scream, gasps in pain.
**Dr. Elliot: ** Let's hurry this up before it hurts itself.
SCP-5XXX-A inhales deeply, and growls
SCP-5XXX-A: (in a lower voice than usual) Break… Break! I'll BREAK YOU!
Dr. Lee: I think it's fighting it.
Dr. Elliot: Next D-Class, enter in quickly! Dr. Lee, what do you make of this?
Dr. Lee: Report later. I must concentrate.
Results of post-quarantine examination
- No filter (for control): Subject infected.
- Clear reading glasses: Subject infected.
- Coloured contacts: Subject infected.
- mirrored contacts: Subject not affected.
- mirrored sunglasses: Subject not affected.
- Welding goggles: Subject not affected.
- Blindfold (Fabric, fully opaque): Subject not affected.
- A camera and a monitor: Subject not affected.
Conclusions
As hypothesized, SCP-5XXX-A will indeed go into an active state under the effect of mnestics. This suggests that SCP-5XXX-A Is contained via its host's memory suppression, caused by its Dissociative identity disorder.
During testing, SCP-5XXX-A's host has managed to re-contain SCP-5XXX after 16 minutes. This suggests that SCP-5XXX's interaction with DID patients is consistent and reproducible.
Among the different protective measures, any measures which prevents the clear and direct observation of SCP-5XXX-A's eyeballs is effective at the prevention of the contagion.
Follow-up actions:
- Interview(s) with SCP-5XXX-A and its alters scheduled.
- Repeated testing with mnestics recommended.
- Updated containment procedures: SCP-5XXX-A Can now be safely interacted with while it wears one (or multiple) of the eye shielding mechanisms proven effective.

This one should be scrutinized HEAVILY
In attendance: Lead researcher Dr. Frank Elliot. Assigned psychiatrist Dr. Wynonna Lee.
Note: SCP-5XXX-A is wearing both mirrored contacts and mirrored sunglasses.
Dr. Lee: SCP-5XXX-A. We are conducting this interview today to discuss you and your alters. Please answer our questions to the best of your ability.
SCP-5XXX-A: Could you please call me █████? I've got a human name, what's wrong with my human name?
Dr. Elliot: Regulations. This is how we do things here.
SCP-5XXX-A: This is so dehumanizing. What's the point of this? Calling me my name couldn't possibly…
Dr. Elliot: 5XXX, let us please stick to the subject.
SCP-5XXX-A sighs theatrically
SCP-5XXX-A: Proceed…
Dr. Elliot: SCP-5XXX-A. During our experiment with mnestics, I believe you were briefed on what those are?
SCP-5XXX-A nods
Dr. Elliot: During the experiment, one of your alters surfaced.
SCP-5XXX-A: Fronted.
Dr. Elliot: Is that the term? Anyway. Please direct your attention to the monitor to our left.
Dr. Elliot turns on a segment of video footage from EX_5XXX_002.
SCP-5XXX-A: Oh. I see the issue. What do you need me to explain?
Dr. Elliot: In the video, you threatened to "break" something, or someone. Could you tell us in your words what happened back then?
SCP-5XXX-A: I don't have any direct memories of that. I only know what N███ Told me happened. With that said, from what I understand- he fought that thing. And he won. Like he always does.
Dr. Lee: Could we talk to him directly?
SCP-5XXX-A: It depends on him really. My mental illness doesn't exactly "take requests". But I can try.
Dr. Elliot: Please do.
SCP-5XXX-A: Before that, a heads up?
Dr. Elliot: We don't have all day 5XXX.
SCP-5XXX-A takes a deep, slow breath, and exhales loudly.
SCP-5XXX-A: (In a significantly lower voice) Then stop wasting mine, Doctor.
Dr. Lee: N████, I presume?
SCP-5XXX-A laughs
SCP-5XXX-A: So you'll call me by my name, but not her? Shows the worth of your protocols, doctor.
Dr. Elliot: SCP-5XXX-A, please dispense with these off-topic remarks.
SCP-5XXX-A: Then let us stay prompt. What information do you require?
Dr. Elliot: During the last time you've manifested, according to your… host?
Dr. Elliot looks to Dr. Lee
SCP-5XXX-A: She has a name. Use her name.
Dr. Elliot: Last time you've manifested, during the experiment we've conducted on mnestics, do you remember that? You fought something, presumably.
SCP-5XXX-A: For the record- "Last time I've manifested" was 3 hours ago, When █████ was reading a particularly exciting fantasy book. Please try to be accurate. With that said and done, Yes, I remember the experiment.
Dr. Elliot is visibly flustered.
Dr. Lee: Elliot, try to be patient. We are speaking to a living, thinking, defense mechanism. It being defensive is very much to be expected.
SCP-5XXX-A: Dr. Lee is quite on point. I am █████'s shield. Down to my very core- I fight her fights. That is my pride.
Dr. Elliot: (Clearing his throat) And that includes SCP-5XXX, correct?
SCP-5XXX-A: Indeed.
Dr. Elliot: Could you explain in detail?
SCP-5XXX-A: I could try, but I cannot promise it would make sense to you.
Dr. Elliot: Try me.
SCP-5XXX-A: Very well.
SCP-5XXX-A pauses for a moment, then clears its throat
SCP-5XXX-A: Borrowing Dr. Lee's definition, I am a living, thinking defense mechanism. That means I am both "A living thinking person", I.E I have feelings, opinions, I care about certain things, I have fears, dreams, and…
Dr. Elliot: I know what "A living person" is.
SCP-5XXX-A laughs laudly
SCP-5XXX-A: How very ironic of you to say that.
Dr. Lee: You're frustrated. I get it. Let's finish this quickly, so we can go our separate ways.
SCP-5XXX-A: Fair enough. Now- I am both "A living person", and A defense mechanism. I can switch places with her, letting her go to quote unquote "sleep" in our subconscious. I can take away her harmful memories. I can reduce her blood pressure and heart rate if needed. Heck, I even have a slightly different alcohol tolerance, or so I'm told.
Dr. Elliot: So you're told?
SCP-5XXX-A: █████ Read everything there is to read on DID. She was an aspiring psychologist before you all came into her life. Not that it matters now…
It pauses for 5 seconds
Dr. Elliot: I see. So, back to your fight-
SCP-5XXX-A: Symbolically, in theory, within the confines of a mental illness fighting against a psychic virus- I cut it with a giant sword.
Dr. Elliot: A… sword?
SCP-5XXX-A: That's the iconography we use. Does it matter?
Dr. Lee: It's conditioning. I assume. SCP-5XXX-A's alter is a knight with a sword. Its enemies usually come in the form of harmful memories. Therefore, it can cut down memories, including the memory of SCP-5XXX, with its sword.
SCP-5XXX-A: That would generally be correct.
Dr. Lee: Thank you 5XXX-A. That was very helpful.
[END OF INTERVIEW]
Assigned Psychiatrist, Dr. Wynonna Lee. 27/JUL/18
SCP-5XXX-A's Failed hatching is caused by its protector alter, "N███", and its ability to erase SCP-5XXX-A's harmful memories.
This is in compliance with mainstream science, and in no way anomalous in nature.
While currently stable, repeated experiments with mnestic drugs may destabilize the equilibrium and force a successful hatching.
It is therefore that I highly recommend keeping any use of mnestics in experimentation to the bare minimum.
In attendance: Lead researcher Dr. Frank Elliot, Assigned psychiatrist Dr. Wynonna Lee.
Dr. Elliot: SCP-5XXX-A. At your request, we are here to discuss your condition, and any unmet needs you have.
SCP-5XXX-A: Thank you for making the time for me. As I've discussed with Dr. Lee before, I'm noticing my mental state to be slowly deteriorating.
Dr. Elliot: Go on.
SCP-5XXX-A: Well, if I had to say… I have three major things that bother me.
Dr. Elliot motions with his hand for SCP-5XXX-A to keep talking
SCP-5XXX-A: For one, I think I could use some activity. The access to entertainment here is excellent, don't get me wrong, I'm never really "bored" per se, but… A person needs more than just books and video games to be happy.
Dr. Lee: Try giving an example?
SCP-5XXX-A: Back home, Back in my old life, I used to cook my own food. I used to study, mainly through the internet which I know I'm not allowed any access to don't worry
SCP-5XXX-A fidgets in its chair
SCP-5XXX-A: The food here is pretty good, but I feel like being allowed to make my own would be… good. for me. Yeah!
Dr. Elliot: What else?
SCP-5XXX-A: Well, uhh… do you think I could have a small kitchen in there? Nothing fancy, just a few basic tools and ingredients. Maybe I could bake some cookies to pass the time…
Dr. Elliot: I very much doubt it, but you are welcome to submit a formal request. You've mentioned 3 issues?
SCP-5XXX-A: yes. The second thing is social interaction. I'm pretty used to spending a lot of time by myself, but at some point the loneliness just gets… too much?
Dr. Lee: Slow down there. We've got at least another 20 minutes scheduled. No need to feel rushed.
SCP-5XXX-A takes a slow, deep breath.
SCP-5XXX-A: Okay. Got it.
Dr. Elliot: Socialization privileges are generally approved for humanoid anomalies, pending continued good behavior and cooperation with foundation personnel.
Dr. Lee: You should have no issues getting this permission. Your cooperation have been exemplary.
SCP-5XXX-A: Thank you.
Dr. Elliot: And for your final issue?
SCP-5XXX-A: Well…
SCP-5XXX-A inhales sharply, then sighs
SCP-5XXX-A: I'd like to discuss my treatment by the staff.
Dr. Elliot sighs audibly
Dr. Elliot: Please elaborate…
SCP-5XXX-A: You are calling me "Es-Si-Pi five Ex Ex Ex dash Ey" or "Five Ex Ex Ex" for short. You're referring to me with "It/Its" Pronouns. You're calling me a "Humanoid anomaly" rather than "Human", and its just… I'm not okay with it!
Dr. Elliot: These are procedures. These discussions are all recorded and transcribed, logged and studied. We have to maintain consistency.
SCP-5XXX-A: Even then, even for the sake of scientific study, this makes no sense! I am sick, infected with some anomalous psychic virus or whatever, but that doesn't make me the virus itself! we don't call cancer patients "leukemia-117" or schizophrenia patients "schizophrenia-703". I am █████ █████, and I am infected with SCP-5XXX-A. We're not the same. We're not. Right?
Dr. Lee: You're not. These are just official proceedings. Foundation protocols. It's how we do things here, and it isn't so easy to change.
SCP-5XXX-A: What is the highest authority I can submit requests to?
Dr. Elliot: That would be me and my team. We're in charge of your case. In rare cases we would pass requests higher up the chain, but your requests would not constitute such cases.
Regardless, I urge you to submit these requests. Despite appearances, it is in all of our interest to make sure that your needs are accounted for and that your containment is comfortable.
SCP-5XXX-A stares for a moment
SCP-5XXX-A: Thank you very much, Sir.
To the SCP-5XXX research team
By: SCP-5XXX-A
Date: 1/AUG/18
Request: I'd like to request for a small kitchen to be installed in my containment chamber. That includes basic kitchen equipment and basic ingredients (i.e fresh vegetables, eggs, flour, etc)
Reason: I believe that activity and self-care would be conducive to the stability of my mental health. Cooking my own food is my baseline of normalcy. The benefits of it to my sanity would be immeasurable.
Response: DENIED
Notes: Dangerous equipment has the potential for self-harm.
To the SCP-5XXX research team
By: SCP-5XXX-A
Date: 1/AUG/18
Request: I'd like to apply for socialization privileges.
Reason: I'm starting to feel the burden of isolation weighing on me. I hope a chance for some light-hearted conversation could help me with that. Additionally, I understand that socialization privileges are the standard for residents who are cooperative and on good behavior. While I can assure you that my cooperation will continue regardless, I'd like to enjoy the benefits of it nonthheless.
Response: APPROVED
Note: The 5XXX research team would like to commend you on your good behavior and exemplary cooperation with the foundation. Keep it up!

To the SCP-5XXX research team
By: SCP-5XXX-A
Date: 1/AUG/18
Request: I'd like to be referred to by my real name, █████ █████. I'd like to be referred to by She/her pronouns, and, generally, for my humanity, and my distinctness from SCP-5XXX, to be formally recognized in all foundation proceedings. I'd like for my alters, ████ and ███, to receive the same treatment.
Reason: I am, in every sense of the word, not SCP-5XXX. I am its victim and its jailkeeper, but we are distinct, separate, entities.
Response: DENIED
Note:
Might add a transcrpit of Subject R.'s appealing this? We'll see how this looks after extensive editing
Research staff: Research lead Dr. Frank Elliot, assigned psychiatrist Dr. Wynonna Lee (Observing), Prof. Eleonora trench (supervising)
Hypothesis: SCP-5XXX in its different stages is detectible via conventional biological identifiers.
Experiment goal: Develop a way to reliably diagnose SCP-5XXX victims.
Experiment process: 30 D-class personnel will undergo extensive EEG brain mapping before and after exposure to SCP-5XXX. their results will be compared to the scans of 30 mature instances of SCP-5XXX. Additional scans will be conducted at 3, 7, 14, and 18 days post-exposure.
Results
- 100% of mature SCP-5XXX instances tested exhibit identical abnormalities in sectors G-8, C-5, and E-6 of their frontal lobes.
- 27 of the 30 subjects exposed to SCP-5XXX exhibited these exact patterns, but on a smaller (factor of 0.2) scale.
- The pattern described above is confirmed to be anomalous in nature, and does not ressemble anything ever observed in humans, nor mammals in general.
- The 3 D-class personnel not exhibiting these patterns did not mature after 41 days.
- The pre-exposure scans of the 27 affected subjects revealed these very same patterns, on a miniscule (0.01 factor) scale.
- the pre-exposure scans of the 3 unaffected patients did NOT reveal these patterns.
Conclusions
INCONCLUSIVE, pending repeat trial on larger sample size.
All hypotheses below are subject to edit or deletion, pending the retrial of EX_5XXX_009
- The evidence gathered in EX_5XXX_009_R01 suggests that a large part of the population already carries unique brain patterns linked to SCP-5XXX.
- Baring any new evidence, this implies that exposure to SCP-5XXX is NOT a spreading mechanism, but an activation mechanism, for an already existing entity.
- Simply put- the population at large may already be infected with SCP-5XXX.
- Origin of the entities- unknown.
- Alternative activation methods- Unknown.
- Until further notice, SCP-5XXX has been reclassified to object-class Keter.
- Access to this file is now restricted to Level-4 personnel or above.
- Prof. Eleonora trench, head of psychohazards, will take over as SCP-5XXX lead researcher

A house in SCP-XXXX-1, the location of SCP-XXXX. How this picture got in posession of the Foundation is unknown, and this is the only picture of SCP-XXXX-1 not taken from Site-XXXX.
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Non-Anomalous Keter/Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX does not need to be contained. All residents of SCP-XXXX-1 have been evacuated and has received a replacement residence. The SCP Foundation has removed all citizen memories of SCP-XXXX with amnestics.
Provisional Site-XXXX has been established around SCP-XXXX-1. MTF Delta-604 ("Ice") is responsible for maintaining Site-XXXX as well as supervising SCP-XXXX-1.
Citizens who show interest in SCP-XXXX-1 are to be directed away from the area by at least two operatives from MTF Delta-604, further disobeyence in this is to be reason for the use of lethal methods to ensure the secrecy of SCP-XXXX-1.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a phenomena which has occured in ███████ (SCP-XXXX-1) which started in 19██. SCP-XXXX has caused SCP-XXXX-1 to become fully frozen. This was first thought to be a natural event with a connection to climate change, however this is not the case seeing as whenever a new object is placed in SCP-XXXX-1 they will immediately freeze. This will cause living organisms to be killed upon entry to SCP-XXXX-1.
SCP-XXXX does not occur outside of SCP-XXXX-1.

Unable to be seen or drawn by many of the staff a child appeared and did the job himself before disappearing
Item #: SCP-6000
Object Class: Safe Keter
Special Containment Procedures: Subject when classified as safe was simply placed in a containment cell/ room with nothing but a bookshelf of standard dimensions containing books relating to the Abrahamic religions are to be given to the Subject with constant surveillance by personnel with Abrahamic faith in some form while constantly monitoring it's movements with no weaponry in place as it seems to be immune to any form of contact.
Due to later events following it's reclassification it has been determined that containment of the subject is not currently possible without some form of accident occurring to staff. Thus, personnel of Abrahamic faith must always follow the Subject and allow it to it's own devices while clearing the area of any witnesses.
Description: Scp-6000 is a being that cannot be seen by those that are not in abrahamic religions and depending on the viewer the level of opaqueness increases with those of little faith although they give details of the Scp having the properties of a liquid as some note with how it's constantly changing shape in their eyes.
Before it was considered Keter, Scp-6000 simply did nothing but read in it's chambers and when books were removed or any physical force was used on the Scp it simply avoided it and to the loss of it's books everyone in a 90 meter radius would feel intense longing so when the books are returned everyone in a 90 meter radius will feel fulfillment which only gets stronger the closer they get to said Scp. Which may explain why it's containment site showed no care towards maintaining professionalism in testing and monitoring of the Scp before it escaped.
But after being reclassified as keter once the year 1███ to present day Scp-6000's movements became unreadable until it suddenly vanished and was later rediscovered in the East it always stops at piles of recently created rubble where it will stay and begin to cry and mutter incoherently which can be heard by anyone with no regards to their faith, after an hour of crying and muttering Scp-6000 will begin moving said rubble until it has removed the forgotten dead body from where it was hidden and take it to give it a proper burial as observed by site members of the abrahamic religion, oddly enough those who can see the Scp as it walks among them will simply ignore it as usually they are in the same state as the scp, mourning a loss of life.
After leaving the area those that were in a 50 meter radius of the Scp will experience somewhat anomalous behavior as the people will experience a sort of joy, not morbid joy, but joy for those that passed from this world and will be greeted kindly in the afterlife as they describe. Further testing is to be conducted on the psychological effects of Scp-6000
The Scp seems to harbor no ill will to anyone near itself but when a being such as a D-class approaches it, it will immediately take notice and begin to mutter the words "you're almost ripe child, you should change that with the little time you have left" although it doesn't react further from that.
When asked to draw the scp site members of the abrahamic faith said it’s form changed like water and was thus impossible to document. Until a child later classified as scp-6000-1 appeared with a deformity in the face he asked to be the one to draw the scp and thus a record of its form was gained but the second the site decided to take the boy for questioning he disappeared never to be found but leaving a note behind the illustration “see you guys at the end”
Interviewed: [Scp-6000]
Interviewer: [Dr.████]
Foreword: Dr.████ in accordance with Scp-6000's escape and rediscovery was asked why it left it's containment facility to establish it's connection with it's current place of residence in the East at ██████. As well as it's motivations to act differently to when it was contained to now with it crying. A foolish mistake on Dr.████'s part led to the Scp acting hostile and becoming more elusive.
<Begin Log>
Dr.████: Scp-6000 it seems you've left your cozy containment facility, could you tell me why you left as well as why you're crying?
Scp-6000: all humans die but these ones died saints, they deserve my respect in it's fullest form
Dr.████: could you elaborate?
Scp-6000: all the details are in those books you so ignore until you twist their words doctor
Dr.████: the books we provided for you?
Scp-6000: yes those ones
Dr.████: noted, could you also tell me why you’re so hard to see as of late?
Scp-6000: it’s highlighted in the book
Dr.████: hmm, what about coming to our facility to continue this interview?
Scp-6000: I cannot, I need to tend to these good people
Dr.████: and what would you do if we hurt these people because you wouldn't listen?
Scp-6000: you’re very close to being ripe doctor I wouldn’t recommend it
<End Log>
Closing Statement: Dr.████ proceeds to ████ ███ ████ after which no remains were found besides a date tree where Dr.████ last stood, Scp-6000 then became even harder to spot for the foundation and thus any further tests and interviews would need to be conducted with no violence to any third party individuals unrelated to the foundation.
Interviewed: [Scp-6000-1]
Interviewer: [Agent ██████ ██████]
Foreword: This interview was made just as scp-6000-1 appeared and agreed to show the foundation an illustration of Scp-6000 that not even the foundation could manage
<Begin Log>
** ██████:** Hello little boy sure we'd love to see your drawing
Scp-6000-1: Sure just give me some paper and blue paint
** ██████:** Hmm sorry this isn't art class you'll have to figure that out on your own
Scp-6000-1: Then let me draw it in the sand to prove it
** ██████:** alright then
Scp-6000-1: See look doesn't he look like this?
** ██████:** (looks at scp-6000 that suddenly looks exactly like the illustration) Kid please make an illustration as soon as possible.
<End Log>
Closing Statement: Afterwords the Foundation was finally able to get an illustration of the ever changing Scp but Agent ██████ doesn't know why he was careless when speaking to the anomaly though it has been looked past as the Agent may have been psychologically manipulated by Scp-6000-1
Testing the physical properties of Scp-6000's "physical form"
"A D-class was given a simple revolver and entered the containment facility, with the supervision and directing by Dr. ████ who had faith the D-class was able to line up a shot but after one shot the results were nothing special as the bullet seemed to pass through the Scp. However, Dr. ████ lost full sight of the Scp and could no longer see it and thus needed to go on leave to reevaluate himself and where he stood in nature as he said. The test was conducted a second time with the same materials and a different supervisor though this time the D-class was to use all 6 bullets which prompted the Scp to tell the D-class that he was "ripe" and "it's useless to try anything on me" in seconds all that remained was a pile of rocks where the D-class once stood.
Conclusion: Any physical attack on Scp-6000 will only result in the loss of sight of said Scp as well as any offender to be turned into a piece of nature by the Scp.

Special Containment Procedures: Due to the unknown origin of SCP-XXXX, and the lack of an effective cure for it, the SCP Foundation has formed a joint coalition with the United States Government to reenact the Eighteenth Amendment, banning the sale, production, importation, and transportation of alcohol and alcoholic beverages, described to citizens as a way to "reduce the amount of injuries and deaths caused by driving while under the influence of alcohol".
All known SCP-XXXX-A instances are to be put into a humanoid containment site, with at least 50 meters of space between each cell, until a cure for SCP-XXXX is found. While SCP-XXXX-A instances are in containment, they are barred from access to alcoholic beverages unless during specific testing. Testing of an SCP-XXXX-A instance must be done in an area at least 50 meters away from all other SCP-XXXX-A instances, in order to prevent a large-scale breach of containment.
Description: SCP-XXXX is an anomalous condition that is known to exist within approximately 1,900 humans in the United States. While originally considered a rare genetic condition, 99% of all known humans with SCP-XXXX currently live on the Eastern Seaboard of the United States. Despite this fact, researchers have determined that SCP-XXXX is not contagious. Further investigation is needed to find a correlation between this location and SCP-XXXX.
Humans that have SCP-XXXX, henceforth referred as SCP-XXXX-A, have no physical, mental, or behavioral differences from non-anomalous humans. However, the anomalous effects of SCP-XXXX appear when SCP-XXXX-A instances are under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. When an SCP-XXXX-A instance has a BACof .2% or greater, multiple anomalous effects will occur.
- All non-organic matter within a 50m radius will become fluid in nature, with similar viscosity to that of saltwater. This will not change the appearance or geometry of any buildings or structures within the radius. Because of this, all humans affected by SCP-XXXX are unable to swim through the non-organic matter.
- All SCP-XXXX-A instances within the radius (whether or not they are at the necessary BAC) will perceive themselves as and gain the mannerisms of members of Class Selachimorpha, including Galeocerdo cuvier, Sphyrna lewini, & Carcharodon carcharias. This allows SCP-XXXX-A instances to breathe in the fluid matter, and increases their ability to swim.
- Any non-SCP-XXXX-A instance that has a BAC of .2% or greater will become a temporary SCP-XXXX-B instance. Like SCP-XXXX-A instances, SCP-XXXX-B instances are able to breathe in the fluid matter, and swim with greater efficiency. Unlike SCP-XXXX-A instances, SCP-XXXX-B instances will perceive themselves and will display the mannerisms of other marine animals. Notable examples of known SCP-XXXX-B mannerisms include the Xiphias gladius, Chelonia mydas, Thunnus thynnus, and Mola mola.
Any human that is not an SCP-XXXX-A instance, nor lacks the BAC to become an SCP-XXXX-B instance, will not be affected by the fluidity of the matter. They will be able to see the actions of SCP-XXXX-A and SCP-XXXX-B instances, but they cannot interact with the instances.
Once the BAC of all SCP-XXXX-A instances in the area drops below the .2% threshold, the effects of SCP-XXXX will be removed, and all SCP-XXXX-B instances will revert to non-anomalous humans.
Discovery: SCP-XXXX was discovered on 11/7/2020, via security camera footage outside a bar in █████, Georgia. The footage showed Jonathan Smith (SCP-XXXX-A-1), along with 11 other non-anomalous humans. While walking out of the bar, SCP-XXXX-A-1, along with 7 others, reached the .2% BAC threshold to trigger the effects of SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX

Dr. Whitney giving biology lessons to several humanoid SCPs.
Name: Maya Whitney
age: 52
Security Clearance: 3
Current position: Site-14
Assignment: Ethics committee advisor, Anonymous individuals communications and case management.
Description: Dr. Whitney has been in the possession of the foundation since 1982 and during this time has built up a reputation for themselves for there ability to communicate with others. This skill have been used in the passed for negotiation and information gathering however, Dr. Whitney is currently placed in the ethics committee.
Since her placement in the ethics committee Dr.Whitney has worked to improve foundation staff and SCP interactions.
Hello, I’m Dr. Whitney. I’m a hobbyist artist and comic book writer. I also occasionally do photo manipulation and other digital art. I have a love for the ocean along with the life found within it and a lot of my art reflects this.
I have a fascination with prehistoric life and what these life forms must have looked like. This is why you will see a lot of dinosaur inspiration with my art and avatar alike.
I have always found something magical in merging the worlds between imagination and science with ever changing re-creations of dinosaurs. They have gone from these Godzilla-like monsters to a more bird-like and empathic form and I just love that.
I hope to reflect some of this in my stories about monsters and humanities interactions with them over time and perhaps as they learn to humanize them.
It all ended as it began
This was my first story. It is far from perfect and at that time I was still struggling to understand what worked on the wiki. The story is about nature overcoming the damage man has done and how if the world were to end, eventually the world would move on and perhaps start anew.
The idea of justice
The idea of justice was a character study depicting the different approaches to people coming to terms with what they had done wrong. I struggled with dialogue and narrative for this story. However, it was where I first started to grasp the building blocks of building a narrative.
Day Trip
This is, I believe, the first story where I was fully able to understand and write the story I wanted to tell. It was based around SCP-507 finding happiness and realizing he deserved to be happy. I learned a lot while writing this and while it’s far from perfect, I am happy with the outcome.
Full art scene above. If you like this art you might like my art page MY ART PAGE I don’t update it very often but I try to every once in a while.
While your doing this though be sure to check out all the other artists pages. There are countless amazing artists on this site whom don't always get the love their visual work deserves.
Rex Atlas The plug zone of rex Is an amazing onsite artist and author and a great example of the on and offsite creativity.
Luxaiko The great cult escape is another example of a great author and artist and a wonderful person.
Aethris Aethris super cool art page is a mind blowing artist and amazing person always helping others with their work and putting others needs before their own. There are many people I would like to add to this list and as time goes on I will.
In the event I’m non active for 2 years and cant be contacted please leave my work to TBA.

(Eleonor, Cordelia, Cecilia ?) SCP-XXXX-A
Host. A kind sweet lady in her early 60s. Caucasian with greying hair. She is very polite, and positive. Usually speaks in a calm, soothing manner. She's also somewhat excitable though, and lets her excitement out when showing something she finds particularly charming. She speaks with old-fashioned vocabulary and perhaps has an accent?
On rare occasions she might slip in a harsh or cynical comment, however she never drops the kind demeanor while doing so. However, the most notorious aspect about her is her head. It sits on top of her neck, rotated 180 degrees. As such, we only see the back of her head or more specifically, her hair. She behaves normally despite this. The camera cuts whenever this characteristic would obstruct common actions such as eating. Because of limited camera angles used on the snippets, we see her body facing towards us nearly all the time. The camera cuts whenever she moves in a way that would reveal her face.
Segments are found on VHS tapes. They are highly corrupted so much of the footage is impossible to make out. The first one is an example of the most coherent segment, which doubles as the one to set the mood for the others.
“Natural”
[The segment begins with a short compilation of snippets from different episodes. The words ‘Life Hacks with Eleonor’ are superimposed on the footage, accompanied by cheery music. The next shot begins with a zoom into a TV studio set which resembles a kitchen. The music changes to a mellow track which fades into the background, but remains audible. SCP-XXXX-A stands behind the kitchen counter.]
Welcome, welcome everyone! Today I’m gonna be showing you something truly wonderful!
[The audience claps for 10 seconds until SCP-XXXX-A motions at them to stop. She then whispers in a direct tone while pointing at the camera.]
We all know the struggle, we want our children to eat healthy. Nutritious. Food.
[The audience voices agreement. SCP-XXXX-A returns to her normal tone.]
But with so many products in our -very grand- supermarkets, choosing feels like an impossible task. Doesn't it? And worse, all these chemicals! Citric acid, sucrose, protein? I don't want my children to eat none of that!
[The audience voices agreement.]
So what is a good ol’ American mom to do?
Well, I’ve shown you many tests for your food before. Vinegar. Acid baths. Enochian chants. But half the time, those only work for a specific product!
[The audience voices displeasement.]
Fear not, because here at ZZZZ we've found an all encompassing test. And all you need is tape. Marker. And a piece of cloth. It’s that simple!
[SCP-XXXX-A pulls the materials from out of frame.]
Next, the food.
This one is truly special. So, what is a better example than the product that’s taking America by storm? The snack on every suburban home’s pantry. That's right, you guessed it!
[SCP-XXXX-A docks and then lifts a big jar from out of frame. She places it on top of the counter with effort. The jar is full of murky yellow liquid, a dark mass pools at the bottom. ]
Pickled leeches!
[The audience claps and cheers for 10 seconds after the object is revealed. 15 seconds of silence follow. SCP-XXXX-A then raises her hands and shakes them, while letting a squeal out.]
This is so exciting!
[The following minute of the video is corrupted]
So, once you’re done writing you just-
[SCP-XXXX-A grabs the piece of tape in front of her and sticks it in front of the jar with a single motion. She lifts her hand, the words ‘All Natural’ are written on the tape.]
-slap it on! Finally, you cover it with your cloth, wait three minutes and you’re done!
[The camera slowly zooms in towards the covered jar. After one minute there is a cut, during which the jar below the cloth has been changed for a different one of smaller size. The camera continues zooming in for two more minutes. SCP-XXXX-A and the audience remain silent during this, the background music is also temporarily muted.]
Done!
[SCP-XXXX-A lifts the cloth. The jar is now full of green murky liquid. As before, there is a black mass inside. However, this time it fills most of the jar. The labels are clearly different from the previous product and the tape is gone. The audience voices amazement. SCP-XXXX-A opens the jar, the mass inside writhes in response. She picks up three leeches with a spoon.]
So natural they’re still squirmin’! Bon appet-
[SCP-XXXX-A lifts the spoon towards her nape, however the camera cuts midway through the motion. In the next shot the opened jar is closer to the camera, on the left portion of the frame. The words 'Pickled Leeches by ZZZZ’ appear superimposed on the right, with the slogan ‘They wont stop biting for more’ beneath. A hand with three leeches stuck to it holds an empty spoon over the jar. Small text begins scrolling at the bottom of the screen but it is impossible to read. A different, male voice can be heard about to begin speaking but the segment ends before he finishes his first word.]
This last bit would be awesome as an image if I can figure out how to make it
The rest of the examples are much shorter as the rest of the segments are heavily corrupted. All corrupted footage has been cut for brevity.
“Stains”
[SCP-XXXX-A is crouched on the floor, she wears latex gloves and a bandana which obscures her true face. There is a wine stain on the carpet beneath her. SCP-XXXX-A scrubs the stain forcefully with a sponge, she is clearly exhausted.]
That's quite the workout. But sometimes there is no easy way around it.
[SCP-XXXX-A sits on her knees and wipes sweat off her forehead. ]
Don't believe the lies others try to sell you. Sometimes you gotta work hard for it. And once you're done, you keep workin’!
[SCP-XXXX-A crouches down again, and resumes scrubbing. The camera zooms into the stain for a minute. The stain, however, becomes more apparent with each scrub until it has turned bright red.]
That's how we do it in-
[Segment ends.]
03. “Music”
[Unlike all other segments, this one does not feature the normal background soundtrack. Instead it features erratic and arrhythmic music. This music is so loud that it drowns out SCP-XXXX-A and the audience. SCP-XXXX-A is drilling holes into a wooden board before the camera cuts.]
[SCP-XXXX-A is painting another wooden board with black paint. Video cuts.]
[SCP-XXXX-A is placing a clay cylinder on top of a treadmill in order to roll it. Video cuts.]
[SCP-XXXX-A is smashing a toilet with a sledgehammer. She then pulls out a can of red spray paint and begins using it on the shattered remains. Video cuts.]
[SCP-XXXX-A is using a hot glue gun to make a pyramid out of baby doll heads. Once done, she begins sprinkling glitter over said pyramid. Video cuts.]
[SCP-XXXX-A is nailing real feathers onto a wall of the set. More than ¾ of the wall is covered at this point. Small dribbles of blood are pouring out of some of the holes. Video Cuts.]
[SCP-XXXX-A is gutting a bison. She pulls several organs out, all of which appear to be made out of plastic. The audience is vocalizing something although it is unclear due to the music. Video cuts. Several witnesses have stated that the audience was ‘clearly laughing” during this.]
[SCP-XXXX-A hangs a dreamcatcher from one her hands, and uses the other one to motion at the item. Segment ends.]
“Microwave”
[SCP-XXXX-A is wearing a blue jumpsuit and a red bandana tied over her hair. There is a toolbox and a microwave on the counter.]
Don't let them tell you you can't do anything. Let's prove that we-
[The next 45 seconds of footage are cut. The jumpsuit now has several stains and there is a pipe on the counter, yellow liquid drips from both ends.]
What to do now? Well, you don't have to worry about not finding the right tool any longer. You just-
[SCP-XXXX-A grabs a screwdriver out of the toolbox and throws it into the microwave.]
Chuck it in there! Now-
[The video cuts, the next shot is a close up of the microwave. Sparks and fire are seen within. Smoke comes out of the vents on top. There is another cut and the fire is no longer visible. SCP-XXXX-A opens the door and grabs a wrench from within, the interior of the microwave is perfectly clean. The shot widens, SCP-XXXX-A begins using the wrench on the pipe to separate it into different segments. More yellow liquid seeps out as she does.]
It's that simple! All done, and with no help from no m-
[The video cuts and returns to the shot of the microwave, which is now on fire. The door is partially open and an assault rifle pokes out, unable to fully fit in. The audience claps and cheers in a frenzy until the segment ends.]
All segments:
Kitchen: “Organic”
Cleaning: “Stain”
Health: “Charcoal”
Arts and Crafts: “Music”
Beauty: “Mask”
Home: “Microwave”
Gardening: "Green"
Finance: "Insurance"
Make sure not all of them have commentary? Have one or two that are just absurd or dark humor.
Short timeline of an event when videos go viral online. They spread very fast and are anonymously favored by algorithms. The foundation intervenes, takes down all videos and amnestisizes all witnesses. There are confirmed deaths due to the spread of the videos as people try to replicate their contents. There is a short interview with the lady who uploaded the videos from an SCP-XXXX instance she found. She tried the “how to get rid of nail polish” hack. The interview shows how she's convinced all the videos are trustworthy and is unaware of what she did to herself.
The final addendum notes that all SCP-XXXX tapes found after this event are now different. The segments no longer contain dialogue. They have many cuts which makes them much shorter. Finally, the “gardening” and “finance” sections have been replaced by a “Content farming” section.

- list item, son of list item
Squint your eyes to see clearly
Blur reality to make it real
Let focus go from your deceiving eyes to know what's been concealed
We've all been blinded, subjects to visual misinformation
A systematic denial of the crystalline
To see the fine grain, to read the hidden words
The context of parallel truth
Devoid of fragmentation
Our light-induced image of truth
Filtered blank of its substance
As our eyes won't adhere to intuitive lines
Everything examined, separated, one thing at a time
The harder we stare
The more complete the disintegration
Dissolution, eyes re-opened
Reasoning focalized, receptors activated
Perspectives distorted
The ladder beyond our grasp
The twin-headed serpent forever hidden
Where's the true knowledge
Where engines of the sane and insanity merge
The clarity, the unity
Reality untouchable, transparent
Invisible to our fixed, restricted fields of vision
Existence taken for granted
Absolute
Possessed, owned, controlled
By the common sense-infected rational gaze
Onward forever we walk among the ignorant
Never stray from the common lines
―Fredrik Thordendal and Tomas Haake, Nothing
Lay down, fall away
Lie awake
Just cannot move my arms and legs
I'm paralyzed
Don't recall how to free myself from this
In the heart of the dark, my face contorted
Don't know how to reach the light
But I feel so bad like a freak in a cage
Open the door, enter your heart
You go
So far
Golden unworldly silence
Spaceflight at speed of light
I cross the clouds and colors
The black hole is calling me
I slide on the horizon
On the frontier not to cross
Black dwarf, time's gone distorted
In the heart of the dark, a whirl of light
Enter in the realm of nothingness
I feel the cold, my eyes are shut, my fear is slowly dying
Light-years from here are my thoughts and cages
I can hear their moan, but now a long deep breath is calling
Overtaking time and now understanding space
I feel united, I do cross light, feel the living
Here in the center stands the light of love
That never can be touched
From greater silence shall return
―Joseph and Mario Duplantier, From Mars to Sirius
Lurking dark underground
Descend to the bottom
Swim below eternally
Into the deep blue sea …
The Rosetta Protocol theme is a fairly straightforward edit of the Black Highlighter theme. The source code for standard Black Highlighter can be found here.
You will need to import the Black Highlighter theme as well in order to use this theme. You can find information about Black Highlighter and its derivative themes here and here, respectively.

The Rosetta Protocol theme makes use of multiple site components. Any site components you want to add must also be compatible with Black Highlighter.
- Better Footnotes: This replaces the standard Wikidot footnotes with dynamic animated tabs..Like this. Standard footnotes can be used in conjunction with Better Footnotes.
- Centered Header BHL: This centers the logo, title and subtitle of the page. Normally this information would be justified to the left side of the screen.
- Fade In: Sleek. Mysterious. Enigmatic. Honestly a bit much sometimes. Cool though.
- Pride Highlighter: I may not be straight, but my priorities definitely are. Go feral, you lovely little fruits.
- Responsive Tables: This creates tables that dynamically adjust their size and shape to match the size of the page window (or screen size on mobile devices). Though they're very useful, they're also much more intensive to code than standard tables. An example of a responsive table is provided further below.
- Toggle Sidebar BHL: This allows the reader to toggle the sidebar on or off the page, similar to how the website's standard mobile sidebar works.

A horizontal rule can be created with 5 hyphens (-----) and extends across the whole page if it's not placed inside anything (such as a blockquote). The lines separating sections of this document are horizontal rules.
Titles can be created by putting between one and six plus signs (+) at the start of a line.

Lends a professional vibe.
Is this annoying?
Yeah, probably.
Sorry.
Hey look, more text here.
How quaint.

This is a blockquote, created by enclosing content in [[div="blockquote"]] and [[/div]] or by putting a "> " at the start of each line, like so:
[[div="blockquote"]]
More text, if you can believe it.
[[/div]]
That's a horizontal rule.
Blockquotes can be nested by starting another div inside an existing div or by placing an additional ">" on each nested line.
And one made using a div, for posterity.

This is an example of a Responsive Table. Notice how its formatting and cell size adjust as you change the shape of the window. This scaling also works for tables viewed on mobile devices, which can help preserve the page's intended margins.

The header cell color is normally gray, but it can be changed by defining its background color in CSS. This formatting works best if placed at the bottom of the page, below any tables it is meant to affect.
