SCP-2576 The lady in the mirrors (Srelli)

Item # : SCP-2576

Object Class : Keter

Special Containment rocedures : SCP-2576 is to be contained in a 5m x 4m x 3m smooth stone containment unit with a mirror inside of it an at least 50m away from any material that can reflect light (water, metals, glass…)

The presence of SCP-2576 inside its cell is verified via 3 cameras pointed in the mirror's direction recording pictures simultaneously every 10 minutes. No staff members has to enter the SCP-2576 cell. All sanitary procedures will be realized by class D personnel.

Description : SCP-2576 appears through reflects like a woman of about 25 years of age with half-long brown hair and black eyes measuring just below 5,5 feets. It has been shown that SCP-2576 is able to speak, see and hear, but does not seem to have any sense of smell, touch, or taste (see Addendum 2576-003). Moreover, SCP-2576 doesn't seem to need to eat or drink to survive. SCP-2576 has also been shown to be able to teleport to any non-organic material producing even near-imperceptible reflections within a 25-meter radius.

If a person exchanges visual contact with SCP-2576 that will be considered voluntary then a procedure called "CEP-C Process" by the entity will be triggered. This procedure is composed of 3 distinct phases.

  1. During the first phase, SCP-2576 will still be visible and the subject won't feel anything strange except a little pain around the mouth. This phase can last 6 to 8 days.
  2. From the beginning of the second phase, the subject will be severely depressed for 2 to 4 days, note that SCP-2576 is no longer visible through the mirror.
  3. During the third phase the subject begins to feel a strong nausea and discomfort. The subject then sees his eyes blur and fade, his hearing will be in a similar state with an unbearable hiss, the subject will also be unable to shout but can still speak. This step always takes less than 10 minutes before the subject can not breathe and dies of asphyxiation.

Addendum 2576-001 :
Test 2576-001 : █9/04/███3

The subject D-541, a 36-year-old man of Italian origin, was placed in the SCP-2576 cell, he will be regularly fed. He was previously asked to initiate visual contact with SCP-2576. He was provided with the necessary equipment to communicate with Dr. ████ at any time.

Progress of the experiment :

  • During 8 days, D-451 says he feels good but with a little pain at the mouth.
  • The next 4 days, D-541 repeats that he no longer sees SCP-2576 through the mirror and therefore asks that we end with him or experience, request denied by Dr. ████. Following the intervention of a psychiatrist D-541 is diagnosed severely depressive
  • After 4 days of phase 2, D-541 wakes up in the middle of the night and says he feels the symptoms of the third phase described previously. D-541 died of asphyxiation about 8 minutes later.
  • After the death of D-541, SCP-2576 is back in the mirror and the body of D-541 has never been found.

Note 1 : Several similar cases are counting.

Note 2 : Visual video contact shifts the CEP-C process from 5 to 7 days and fixed image visual contact does not initiate the procedure.

Note 3 : The third phase always starts during the subject sleep.

Addendum 2576-002 :
Test 2576-002 : 05/05/█003
Subject D-4287, a 28-year-old French woman, was placed in the SCP-2576 cell under the same conditions as in Test 2576-001.

Progress of the experiment :
The 3 phases are similar but D-4287 brings more details to phase 3. Before his sight gets confused D-4287 declares that she no longer sees her reflection in the mirror but to review SCP-2576 in and out of the mirror. However the camera verification shows nothing after the death of D-4287 and his body is not found.

Addendum 2576-003
Test 2576-003 : █7/█7/██03
Subject D-3212, a 19-year-old American man, was placed in the SCP-2576 cell under the same conditions as Test 2576-001

Progress of the experiment :
The subject enters the cell of SCP-2576 but before looking at the entity in the eyes, he opens a discussion with the latter. Here is a reconstruction of the conversation:

D-3212: Anybody in there?
SCP-2576: Of course, since I'm locked up …
D-3212: Are you SCP-2576?
SCP-2576: Surely, that's how they call me.
D-3212: What is your real name?
SCP-2576: I do not have any, rather I do not have anymore …
D-3212: How so?
SCP-2576: I preferred to forget it, it reminded me some bad memories …
D-3212: Is this the first time you're talking to someone?
SCP-2576: Since I'm in this state, yes …
D-3212: Why to you choose me?
SCP-2576: Someone else would have been scared.
D-3212: How did you know I would not have been scared?
SCP-2576: This often happens to me, knowing without any reason or proof.
D-3212: All this seems a little strange to me …
SCP-2576: Moreover I can only speak English.
D-3212: You must be able to learn another language.
SCP-2576: No, I can not even learn one single foreign word.
D-3212: That's… pretty amazing. In the bad therm though…
SCP-2576: This is one of the conditions I was given.
D-3212: Conditions?
Silent moment
D-3212: I was asked to look at you in your eyes, why?
SCP-2576: This is a very bad idea.
D-3212: Why is that?
SCP-2576: I will delete you, whether I want it or not …
D-3212: How's that, delete me?
SCP-2576: Our roles will be reversed, not being used to it, your body will not support.
D-3212: How is this possible?
SCP-2576: Thanks to the CEP-C process.
D-3212: CEP-C?
SCP-2576: C for cerebral, E for emotional, P for psychological and last C for control.
D-3212: Will you take control of my brain?
SCP-2576: Me, no, someone else …
D-3212: Who?
End of the conversation

Because of that D-3212 refused to Look at SCP-2576 in the Eyes [DATA EXPUNGED]
