Special Containment Procedures:SCP-3340 is to be contained in a glass case. the size being 4 13/17" (L) x 3/17" (W) x 4/45" (D). Only under testing is when the glass should be lifted.Under no circumstances should any personnel carry Altoids mints with them to Site 41. If any other staff should offer you Altoids mints report them to a facility guard and check SCP-3340's chamber to see if it is missing, if it is report a minor containment breach to MTF.
Description:SCP-3340 is a tin box of Altoids breath mints that cannot be destroyed [See image file attached]. SCP-3340 contains 50 SCP-3340, if this number drops for more than 24 hours contact the head researcher to observe what caused this.If SCP-3340 is put in the subjects mouth, the subject's mouth will begin to burn feeling immense pain having about 17,000,000 or more on the Scoville Heat Scale. The subject will begin to cry begging for milk. If anything is given to the subject the mint will begin to get hotter. The subjects taste buds will begin to go numb but the subject will somehow still feel the heat. After 5 hours the initial heat will ware off. When the subject attempts to eat or drink anything it will just feel spicy around 2,200,000 on the Scoville Heat Scale. The subject will taste nothing else and just feel pain for whatever they eat.Attempting SCP-3340 with people who can handle very spicy items is being discussed with staff.
SCP-3340 every 24 hours will begin to shake and if any mints are missing will 'refill' itself with mints until it hits 50 mints. During this time the flavor on the box will start to change in a pattern. Peppermint, Cinnamon, Wintergreen, Spearmint, and finally 'sugar free smalls'. During the last stage SCP-3340 will shrink size in it's containment chamber. About the size of a babies hand. During the last stage SCP-3340 will contain only 25 mints and the next day will 'refill' itself with 25 more mints while changing the size back to it's original state.
SCP-3340-2 is a sheet of paper contained in SCP-3340. It usually refreshes back to it's original positions after 24 hours. If contact is made with SCP-3340-2 is made the person who made contact with SCP-3340-2 will get a second degree burn and will burn layers of skin.
SCP-3340 was found when mass reports of suicide was reported in a town and the town was sending mass complaints to the Altoids brand that they burn their family, friends , ect mouths. A government official was sent in and was offered a mint as soon as he entered. He took the mint the conversation ensues on the radio.

Agent ████ was called to the scene after ██ the agent ████ saw the government agent crying and yelling about the mints.The government agent quickly fell due to the heat.
