SCP-3704

SCP-3704 - "The Enigma Stone"

Object Class: Euclid

Description: SCP-3704 is a small, polished stone with a smooth, obsidian-like appearance. It measures approximately 5 centimeters in diameter and emits a faint, otherworldly glow. When in close proximity to SCP-3704, individuals experience a strong compulsion to touch or hold the stone.

Upon physical contact, SCP-3704 triggers a temporal anomaly, transporting the individual to a random point in time. The time periods range from the distant past to the far future, with no apparent pattern or control over the destination. The duration of the temporal displacement varies, with instances lasting anywhere from a few minutes to several weeks.

Upon return, individuals retain memories of their experiences during the temporal displacement, which often include witnessing significant historical events or glimpses into potential future scenarios. However, the effect of SCP-3704 on the timeline is currently unknown and under investigation.

Attempts to replicate the effects of SCP-3704 using similar stones or materials have been unsuccessful. SCP-3704 appears to possess a unique anomalous property that defies current understanding of temporal manipulation.

Containment: SCP-3704 is to be kept in a secure, locked containment chamber, lined with lead to prevent accidental activation of its temporal effects. Access to SCP-XXXX requires Level 3 clearance, and experimentation involving its effects must be approved by the Site Director.

Note: Due to the unpredictable nature of SCP-3704 and its potential impact on the timeline, further research and study are ongoing to fully understand its properties and ensure containment protocols are sufficient.
