Special Containment Procedures: Due to the size and ever-changing location of SCP-4005, SCP-4005 will most likely never be contained. However, it can be neutralized. All known 4005-1 persons are currently in Foundation custody, and may not observe SCP-4005 unless authorized by the O5 Council directly. Since releasing 4005-1 personnel poses a high risk of re-observing SCP-4005, the usage of Class F amnestics on these persons are awaiting authorization. Due to the fact that SCP-4005 can be activated if 4005-1 persons look at it even without noticing or without a telescope, they are to remain in Foundation custody indefinitely.

Should a 4005-Activation-Event occur, Foundation field agents at NASA are to closely monitor SCP-4005 and the celestial objects that have been destroyed as a result of the anomaly, preventing news of this from spreading. After the event, amnestics are to be given to persons who have noticed the potential existence of SCP-4005.

Should a Sol planet be destroyed by SCP-4005, the O5 Council may vote whether to reveal SCP-4005 to the public or begin SCP-4005 Ennui Protocol.

Description: SCP-4005 is the anomalous designation given to a shape-shifting constellation that is able to change its location. The constellation ranges in diameter from several light-years to several thousand light-years, hence making it impossible to contain.

During a 4005-Activation-Event, SCP-4005 will always take the form of an Earth-like creature with a mouth that can be displayed clearly in two-dimensions (such as a beak). The constellation can appear anywhere in space, it can even make the Sun a part of the constellation. SCP-4005, after appearing will soon 'close' its jaw and anything that is 'in' the mouth two-dimensionally (relative to Dr. [REDACTED] and his descendants, herby 4005-1s). Anything 'inside' the mouth of the constellation relative to 4005-1 persons observing the constellation at that time will be destroyed once the jaw 'reaches' that position relative two-dimensionally to the 4005-1 person(s) observing.

A 4005-Activation-Event is initiated if SCP-4005 is observed by a 4005-1 person(s), this is also possible if 4005-1 persons observe SCP-4005 without noticing, that is, with the naked eye. There has been no recorded event of SCP-4005 being activated if a 4005-1 person looks at its direction with his vision being blocked (except transparent materials). For exactly five days, SCP-4005 will destroy celestial objects, changing location each time it is done at intervals of 5-21 hours. However, due to the fact that 4005-1 persons are on Earth, due to their perspective, Earth is not endangered by a 4005-Activation-Event. However, well-known planets such as Mars are endangered by a 4005-Activation-Event.

Any celestial object that SCP-4005 'eats' has a small chance of returning in an anomalous manner. These anomalous celestial objects are referred to as 4005-2s. To date, there is only a handful of 4005-2s, which can reappear in different systems, and are able to change the system they are orbiting at any time between intervals of 1-5 years (see 4005-2 Instance Logs).

Addendum 4005-1: SCP-4005 was discovered by Dr. [REDACTED] in ██/██/199█ after observing an unnamed star he was just about to name via the ██████ Telescope. He had discovered something similar to a jaw moving towards the star, as soon as the 'jaw' went to the star, it vanished along with the entire system, leaving nothing behind.

He told this to his colleagues around NASA, and the fact spread around the place, through which the Foundation was alerted after it had been broadcast on radio. As a result, Class-A anmestics were given to the entire place as well as the town of [REDACTED], Eastern USA.

Field agents were alerted to the phenomena as several more star systems vanished near the unnamed star.

Another thing worth mentioning is that, as to be shown by the interview below, Dr. [REDACTED] noticed his abilities and possibly hid it until now.

Interviewer: What were you doing before you discovered the anomaly?

Person: Naming a star found by the ██████ Telescope. That's when I noticed its… jaw.

Interviewer: Did you notice any debris or anything weird about the constellation?

Person: Yes, the constellation was moving at break-neck speeds, way to fast to be just a
constellation. Interestingly, there was no debris where the system should've been.

Interviewer: You said the constellation 'vanished' a few hours later, just when
agents were alerted to the anomaly, and then re-appeared on the other side of the galaxy.

Person: Yes, and it did the same thing before, it went on and on, then it just… stopped.

Interviewer: Stopped?

Person: Completely, it didn't move, it turned normal as if nothing happened.

Interviewer: So, immobile. Did anything similar happen to the other stars?

Person: Yes, that's when I alerted my fellow NASA friends towards the anomaly, it went
haywire when I looked at it, eating everything relative to its two-dimensional "jaw".

Interviewer: Do you remember a similar incident prior to the one you're describing, as a child or something?

Person: No… but wherever I looked, the stars started disappearing, I thought it was natural, my kids had the same property, its weird, and scary.

Interviewer: When were you hired at NASA, and when were you aware of the anomaly?

Person: I knew it for quite sometime, but a whisper at the back of my head said, "The
Foundation is coming for you, they know your powers of destruction."

Interviewer: I'm sorry, you said "Foundation".

Person: Yes, wait, are you part of them, or something?

Interviewer: Never heard of them, let's stay on topic: Where did the whispers come from?

Person: …Your first anomaly.

Closing Statement: Dr. [REDACTED] was given Class-A amnestics and released shortly after.

Addendum 4005-2: Shortly after discovery by Dr. [REDACTED], he continued to examine SCP-4005 in the hopes of activating it again for research.

The following document details the events regarding SCP-4005 and Dr. [REDACTED] shortly after his observation after the interview that was taken during the discovery of SCP-4005.

██/██/199█: Dr. [REDACTED] returns to NASA and continues to examine SCP-4005, resulting in a 4005-Activation event which alerts the Foundation after several stars near the Orion Spur disappear.

██/██/199█: The Foundation integrates agents into NASA into the building where Dr. [REDACTED] worked at.

██/██/200█: Instances of 4005-1s are discovered when a 4005-Activation-Event occurs where Dr. [REDACTED] wasn't involved.

██/██/200█: Dr. [REDACTED] and his family are taken into custody by the Foundation.

██/██/200█: Dr. ██████ proposes using Class F anmestics on 4005-1 instances, due to the nature of SCP-4005, this is denied.

██/██/200█: 4005-1 instances are kept indefinitely by the Foundation.

Addendum 4005-3: After 4005-1 instances were kept in custody by the Foundation at Site [REDACTED], several tests were performed on them in order to understand more about the nature of SCP-4005.

Incident 4005-3:

On ██/██/201█, a 4005-Activation-Event was initiated by a Chaos Insurgency raid on Site-██, 4005-1s were freed and the anomaly was activated. On ██/██/201█, 1/5 of the Moon was bit off by SCP-4005. The destruction could be seen by millions around the world, there followed a meteor shower at [REDACTED], Russia, Eastern USA and Northern Europe, causing massive amounts of destruction. The O5 Council and the Ethics Committee have ordered MTF forces to remain on high alert for a possible K-Class scenario, as well as the possible exposure of the SCP Foundation itself.

Mobile Task Force Alpha-1 "Red Right Hand", alongside several other task forces have sent forces to known Insurgency locations with the main priority to recover all 4005-1 persons, Foundation sites in meteor-affected areas have been ordered to evacuate to safer locations.

The O5 Council and Ethics Committee are currently deciding on whether to initiate Project 4005 Ennui or reveal SCP-4005 to the public.

Following Incident 4005-3, the SCP Foundation and the UNGOC have established a temporary alliance and have joined forces in order to recover all 4005-1 persons immediately. All MTF and UNGOC forces are currently focused on raiding Insurgency locations in order to recover 4005-1 persons, also known as Operation Backfire.

Special Containment Procedures: Due to the current catastrophe initiated by the Chaos Insurgency raid on Site-██, the SCP Foundation and the UNGOC have negotiated a temporary alliance, pouring their units together to find 4005-1 persons no matter the cost. A 4005-Activation-Event is ongoing, and may continue occurring indefinitely unless the 4005-1 persons are recovered. It is possible the Chaos Insurgency are deliberately destroying known celestial bodies in order to expose the anomalous world itself.

Lunar Area-32 has been placed on high alert, and has experienced catastrophic power outages due to the current unstable geology of the Moon. Evacuation is taking place, and Lunar Area-32 may be used as a rally point for UNGOC-Foundation raids on possible CI locations on the Moon.

Approximately ██ CI locations have been raided and destroyed, and one 4005-1 person recovered, the attempt to find other 4005-1 persons continue to this day, it has been requested to terminate the recovered 4005-1 person for a possible counter-raid by the CI to recover him, the request has been granted. However, the termination of this 4005-1 person has had unprecedented consequences.

Two more SCP-4005 instances have been discovered by NASA and Foundation satellites, 33 percent of Jupiter was destroyed and Mars completely obliterated by 4005-Activation-Events.

Around the world, meteor strikes are occurring and in some cases rendering the area barren completely. The cities of London, New York, and Moscow have been completely destroyed.

On ██/██/201█ the SCP Foundation revealed its existence to the public world and have authorized refuge in its sites and areas around the world. However, the Horizon Initiative, which has allied with the Chaos Insurgency, have destroyed a great number of Foundation facilities.

A K-Class event has been confirmed, it may be necessary for the Foundation to use its temporal anomalies to reverse Incident 4005-3, with several selected persons existing to alert the past Foundation of the incoming catastrophe.

Description: SCP-4005 refers to the three constellational anomalies detected by the Foundation. One of these were detected on ██/██/199█ and is the first and original one, known as SCP-4005-A. The other two are known as SCP-4005-B and SCP-4005-C, both of which were activated upon the termination of a 4005-1 person amidst fears of the Chaos Insurgency/Horizon Initiative recovering him.

These three anomalies pose unprecedented threat to the safety of the public world, especially with 4005-1 persons captured by the Chaos Insurgency.

SCP-4005-A, B and C are shapeshifting constellations that are activated when Dr. [REDACTED] or his descendants (known as 4005-1s) see either of these constellations with or without a telescope, it does not matter whether they know it or not. This causes a 4005-Activation-Event, which only activates the constellation that has been seen, although this can be more than one or all three.

The Foundation has made it a directive, that no 4005-1 person would be terminated no matter what, in light of the recent termination of one such person that led to the manifestation of two more SCP-4005 anomalies. It is therefore reasonable to assume that the termination of a 4005-1 person would lead to such catastrophe.

As of current, only one 4005-1 person has been recovered via Operation Backfire, the others remain unknown as of now, and are assumed to be under the captivity of the Chaos Insurgency and, perhaps, the Horizon Initiative.
