Special containment procedures: The area surrounding SCP-4162 has been surrounded by a tall concrete wall, reinforced with rebar, completely blocking it off from view, and it is placed to far away from any town to have any auditory reception. There is a road block, 100 meters up the road to SCP-4162's location. The entrance to the upward and downward sections of the staircase have been blocked off with concrete, and the walls are monitored by D-class, who must wear sound-proof ear muffs, or be surgically deafened. 30 meters from the wall in 4 directions, are 4 sniper towers where a single agent sits in a completely sound-proof room, with a sniper mounted on the outside, that can be controlled from within. Anyone attempting to move into the containment area for SCP-4162 without permission are to be shot. Approximately 100 meters from SCP-4162 is a helicopter pad, which houses a helicopter armed with a high-power automatic weapon. If anyone passes through SCP-4162-1, the helicopter is to dispatch to kill the 4162-2-a.
Description: SCP-4162-1 is a set of stairs, painted white, with a wooden railing, and a door frame located at it's summit. An identical set of stairs, (SCP-4162-2) dug into the earth, exists directly below them, the summit of SCP-4162-2 only 1.5 meters below the summit of SCP-4162-1 the only difference being that the bottom's entrance was previously blocked off with plaster, but there is now a whole were the first known SCP-4162-2-a instance emerged. SCP-4162-1 and SCP-4162-2 was originally located in a small, yellow house off of a dirt road, well away from the nearest large civilization, it sustained itself off it's own crops, and some from the houses direct (and only) neighbor as well. Originally there where 2 inhabitants of said house. Strangely, no records of the yellow house being built or any records of the female inhabitant of the house exist. However, some remark having previously read something about the original inhabitant, and it is theorized that all record of the woman's existence was erased upon it's original activation. SCP-4162 will emit a whispering sound, that will entice individuals to pass through the summit of SCP-4162-1. Anyone who hears the whispering is classified as SCP-4162-1-a If anyone does walk through SCP-4162-1, upon reaching the summit, they disappear. However, as they climb SCP-4162-1, an identical version of them self will climb SCP-4162-2 and once they reach the top of SCP-4162-1, their mirror image (SCP-4162-2-a) will emerge from the bottom door and attempt to drag more people to the summit of SCP-4162-1. As of yet the only thing capable of damaging SCP-4162-1 or SCP-4162-2 are instances of SCP-4162-2-a. If you look into the top of SCP-4162-1 you will see what you would expect to see from the summit of SCP-4162-2, while it was still contained within the original housing of SCP-4162 (the small yellow house), and occasionally you can see the original male resident of the house sweeping the floors, or doing other day to day activities. Similarly, if you look through the bottom of SCP-4162-2, you will see what appears to be the base of the staircase as seen in the original house. Curiously. SCP-4162-2-a instances ignore all deaf people, and will not attempt to drag them through SCP-4162-1.
Discovery log 4162-1: The local police receive frantic call from the original neighbors of the small yellow house that their neighbor had "gone down" police arrived at the scene, and where killed by the original instance of SCP-4162-2-a, who appeared as the female inhabitant of the original yellow house then, more police went to investigate, and encountered the SCP-4162-2-a instance further up the road. one officer survived long enough to describe what happened. [data redacted] at this point, the foundation sent in a helicopter to take down the instance of SCP-4162-2-a before it reached the town of [data redacted] after destroying the instance of SCP-4162-2-a, foundation personnel inspected the two houses down the road. In both houses, there where corpses, each having ended their own lives in one way or another.
Exploration log 4162-1: [data redacted] and painted an upside down cross in blood over the entrance to SCP-4162-1, before bleeding out [data redacted] watched in horror as they died, and begged the SCP-4162-2-a instance to kill them, but it refused to even acknowledge [data redacted]. The helicopter opened fire upon the SCP-4162-2-a instances, destroying them.
Exploration log 4162-2: A surgically deafened D-class walks up SCP-4162-1, and as it reaches the summit, an instance of SCP-4162-2-a emerges from SCP-4162-2, and is immediately destroyed by the helicopter, hovering above SCP-4162. the camera watching the D-class from the base of SCP-4162-1 shows that the D-class emerged into the version of the original house, but upon exciting, they are tackled by what appears to be the inhabitant of the original house.The entity continues to consume the D-class's flesh.
Exploration log 4162-3: A surgically deafened D-class walks down SCP-4162-2, and upon reaching the bottom, immediately is seen falling through the bottom of SCP-4162-1, on fire, and screaming "Why didn't you come for me?? God? Allah? Anyone?" before falling unconscious. The fire was put out, and when they recovered, the D-class claims to not remember anything after entering SCP-4162-2. However, while they where previously a devout Muslim, they no longer practice any religion.

Addendum 4162-1: Instances of SCP 4162-1-a have been observed referring to the summit of SCP 4162-1 as "the pearly gates" or other analogous religious entities. It is believed that instances of SCP 4162-1-a believe that at the summit of SCP 4162-1 is "heaven". The only confirmed survivor of SCP-4162-2 describe it as hell, however it is believed that 4162-1 and 4162-2 lead to the same time and location.
