SCP-4197 "Static"
rating: 0+x

Item #: SCP-4197

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4197 is to be stationed in a concrete box with noise cancelling material lining the wall. It is to be placed in the centre of the 10m3 room with one camera facing the cell opening and another inside the cell. It is important that both cameras only capture a live video feed, they should not be capable of audio recording. No personnel should enter the room without noise cancelling headphones and written consent from the Lead Researcher and one other involved Researcher.

Description: SCP-4197 is a cell with dimensions equal to the H███████ design used during 19██ in L█████, United Kingdom. The contents of which stay the same, including a single bed, one stool and one lightbulb which hangs 10cm from the ceiling. The one exception is SCP-4197-1 (formerly solely SCP-4197), which is generally viewed as a 19██ Crosley (SCP-4197-1-A) but has also been viewed as 19██ Philco (SCP-4197-1-B) and 19██ Bakelite (SCP-4197-1-C). The reason for said objects being involved is unclear, it is also unclear how SCP-4197-1 changes and if it does change at all.

SCP-4197-1 will constantly emit white noise (view Addendum 1) which will travel up to a distance of 50m from its source. If any living organism is able to hear SCP-4197-1's white noise then it will begin to travel towards it, it will then also be referred to as the "main subject". If any other "secondary subjects" are attracted then they will also begin to surround SCP-4197. Once the "main subject" reaches SCP-4197-1, they will begin to attempt to turn off the object or stop it accordingly.

The next scenario will occur differently depending on which SCP-4197-1 object is visible:
19██ Crosley (Television)
The lightbulb within SCP-4197 will turn off, the cell door will slam closed and all lights nearby will be either turned off or flicker depending on the distance from SCP-4197. All subjects will then seem to have vanished without any traces left of them.
19██ Philco (Radio)
The radio will begin to grow louder and less static will be heard. The radio will then begin transmitting a broken version of Morse Code through its speakers before releasing a high-pitched sound. The sound will cause people to fall unconscious for a short while before waking to see no traces of the subjects.
19██ Bakelite (Rotary Telephone)
The telephone will begin to ring alongside the static noise. The "main subject" will answer the call and begin a conversation which will lead to an argument. Just like the radio, a high-pitched sound is played and caused everyone in the vicinity to pass out. They will wake up later to see no traces of the subjects.

All subjects lost are considered dead until further research proves otherwise.
