Item #: SCP-8322
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures:
Due to SCP-8322’s ability to re-manifest unpredictably following detonation events, full containment is currently unachievable. The Foundation operates a global monitoring network to track reports of a small black lamb with glowing green eyes. Upon sighting, Mobile Task Force Psi-7 ("Shepherds") is deployed to secure the area and administer Class-B amnestics to any civilian witnesses. Potential targets identified through surveillance must be isolated in Foundation safehouses and observed continuously for a minimum of 72 hours. Direct visual contact with SCP-8322 is to be avoided at all costs.
Description:
SCP-8322 is a quadrupedal entity resembling a juvenile domestic sheep (Ovis aries) with entirely black wool and bioluminescent green eyes visible in complete darkness. SCP-8322 exhibits no detectable vital signs through standard biomedical instrumentation and does not appear to consume or metabolize matter in any known fashion.
SCP-8322 selects a single human individual ("the target") and begins persistent observation from a distance typically ranging between 50 and 200 meters. Initial encounters result in the target experiencing increasing levels of paranoia, insomnia, and auditory hallucinations related to whispered voices and unidentifiable low-frequency sounds.
Approximately 48 hours after the initial observation, SCP-8322 manifests within the target’s sleeping quarters at the moment of awakening. The target undergoes a sudden and complete loss of voluntary motor function, consistent with severe sleep paralysis. SCP-8322 approaches silently, emitting a sustained low-frequency hum measured at approximately 18 Hz, which is known to induce heightened anxiety and disorientation in human subjects.
At close proximity (within 1 meter), SCP-8322 vocalizes a phrase in a low, guttural human-like voice:
“My dark wool shall fill your hands.”
Immediately following the vocalization, SCP-8322 undergoes rapid internal energy release resulting in an explosion measured at approximately 10 kilograms TNT equivalent. The blast results in total incineration of the target and extensive structural damage to the immediate area. Post-detonation investigations reveal no physical remnants of SCP-8322.
Within hours to days following detonation, SCP-8322 has been documented reappearing intact at geographically and temporally disparate locations, indicating an unknown method of self-reconstitution or multi-instance phenomenon.
Discovery:
SCP-8322 was first brought to Foundation attention after a series of unexplained explosions in [REDACTED], United Kingdom, coinciding with eyewitness reports describing a “small black lamb with glowing green eyes” seen near the victims shortly before their deaths.
Foundation agents embedded in local law enforcement retrieved footage capturing SCP-8322 standing motionless at the end of a residential street. The entity vanished instantaneously when approached, leaving only a faint thermal signature.
Addendum 8322-A — Interview Log:
Interviewed: Subject Daniel ████, a civilian survivor of an SCP-8322 initial sighting, later contained.
Interviewer: Dr. Helena Graves
Dr. Graves: Can you describe what you saw during your encounter?
Daniel: It was… just standing there, in the dark. No sound, just those glowing green eyes staring right at me. I blinked, and it was gone. But I could still feel it, like a weight on my chest.
Dr. Graves: Did it ever get closer?
Daniel: Not at first. But that night, I woke up and saw it right beside my bed. I couldn’t move. Then it whispered something, something about wool filling my hands. After that… boom.
Dr. Graves: How did you survive?
Daniel: I don’t know. I woke up in the hospital. They said I was lucky.
Incident Report 8322-07:
Date: ██/██/20██
Location: [REDACTED], Germany
SCP-8322 breached containment after appearing inside a secured observation chamber housing Target ████ ██████. Despite all precautions, SCP-8322 manifested at 02:14 local time. Target was rendered immobile and SCP-8322 vocalized its phrase before detonation occurred. The blast destroyed approximately 40% of the containment wing. No physical trace of SCP-8322 was found post-explosion.
Incident Report 8322-02
Date: ██/██/20██
Location: [REDACTED], Japan
Target: Ms. Ayumi Takahashi
Ms. Takahashi reported seeing SCP-8322 in a park near her residence. She experienced escalating paranoia and auditory hallucinations. Approximately 48 hours later, SCP-8322 manifested in her bedroom. The detonation caused severe damage to the building, with debris found up to 15 meters from the epicenter. No remains of SCP-8322 were recovered.
Incident Report 8322-06
Date: ██/██/20██
Location: [REDACTED], Russia
Target: Unidentified male, approximately 34 years old
An unregistered case where SCP-8322 appeared near a rural farmhouse. The target was found in a state of extreme fear prior to the event. SCP-8322’s detonation was followed by a brief electromagnetic pulse that disrupted local communications for several minutes. The Foundation has since increased monitoring for similar EMP effects during SCP-8322 events.
Incident Report 8322-04
Date: ██/██/20██
Location: [REDACTED], Brazil
Target: Mr. Carlos Mendes
Mr. Mendes was under Foundation surveillance after initial sightings of SCP-8322 near his workplace. Despite isolation, SCP-8322 appeared inside the observation room at 03:42 local time. The target was incapacitated before SCP-8322’s vocalization and subsequent explosion, which resulted in a localized blast radius of approximately 8 meters. Secondary casualties included two Foundation personnel.
Notes:
Ongoing research is focused on understanding SCP-8322’s re-manifestation mechanism and possible methods of neutralization. Linguistic analysis of the phrase “My dark wool shall fill your hands” has yielded partial correlations with ancient Proto-Indo-European funeral rites, suggesting a ritualistic or symbolic function to SCP-8322’s behavior.
