Instance 4872-1Ω prior to termination

Special Containment Procedures: : SCP-4872 is to be monitored by continuous satellite coverage and on-site levee personnel. A perimeter of 12 kilometers by 15 kilometers camera monitored fencing surrounds the affected area of 4872 designated Site 14. Security personnel are to be disguised as rangers and quasi fire lookouts to keep the outer perimeter secure. Cover stories of pollution investigations over the ████ wildlife preserve have successfully kept SCP 4872 hidden from the public. Any civilians found trespassing past these safeguards are to be apprehended and administered class B amnestics.

Guarded levees and dams lining are to be made of CP Grade 1 titanium secured from ███████. Construction specifications: 8 meters tall, 7 meters in width, and 10 meters in length. Personnel are always to patrol the levees and leave no length longer than 20 meters without two personnel. These walls are equipped with mounted liquid nitrogen vats that dispense rapidly into the entity in the event of a containment breach. RTF Zeta-37 "Skeptic's Answer" are tasked with exploring ████████ MT with primary goals of explaining SCP 4872's origins of emanation. RTF Zeta-37 "Skeptic's Answer" was conceived following the initial discovery of 48721

Repeated attempts to break containment by the entity have led to the implementation of procedure 310-Tivalah, see Incident log 4872-D12.

Description: SCP-4872 is a river stemming from ████████ mountain within the Appalachian mountain range stretching for ██ kilometers. The average depth of SCP-4872 has been determined through radio-graphic imaging to have an approximate average of 4.5 meters, with a length of ██ kilometers, and a width of half a kilometer. Its source stems from an erosion cave on the side of ██████ mountain in the Appalachian mountain range. The river consists of a dark unknown liquid with undetermined molecular makeup that mimics the form and movements of a river. The entity's liquid form seems to be able to change its viscosity and levels of corrosivity at will. Its flow is not altered or disturbed by elevation, or natural obstacles such as groves or boulders. The current of the entity is monitored to travel at speeds of 1.912 knots when not consuming new material. The entity has shown the ability to redirect the course of its body through attempts to break confinement when agitated. Exploration into the surrounding mountainside and subsequent expeditions have revealed anomalous humanoids classified as SCP 4872-1 were discovered.
Instances of SCP 4872-1 appear as hunched humanoid figures with long slender limbs and ovular heads devoid of orifices save for the small divots that house their eyes which are merely white agate stones. Their skins’ complexion is remarkably smooth, the pigmentation is a solid black acting as a natural camouflage for nocturnal activities. Debris akin to that found in Site 14C protrude from the backs and scalps of instances of SCP 4872-1. Destruction or removal of an instance’s eyes will cause the entity to collapse and melt into a tar like substance similar to that of SCP 4872. They don't consume organic or inorganic material for substance and remain mostly motionless in thier hunched positions when not active. When active, Instances have shown to posses abnormal strength and physical endurance. Further testing has yielded that they have no sensation of pain and damaged sections of their form will slowly congeal together repairing itself.
They call themselves Lusachuka indicating possible links to the Choctaw and Cherokee dialects, however most communications are difficult as they speak in an awkward fragmented and unknown language spoken through low guttural moans and creaky clicking through presently unknown means. Communication was first established after incident 4872-1 when the leader of the amassed instances was witnessed to speak English during suppression efforts.
SCP-4872’s secured perimeter is designated as site 14, with field stations designated as follows:

Site 14A The Source/Mouth observation Station
Site 14B The Levee Line
Site 14C The Expulsion and Reversal point
Site 14D The lusachuka Reservation

Site 14A Is the Erosional cave measuring on the side of ████████ MT that acts as both the source and the mouth of SCP-4872 . Upon further investigation, it’s been found that the cave doesn’t extend farther back than just 5 meters before dropping off into a ravine of undetermined depth or size. Any attempts to further survey past this drop off has experienced almost immediate failure as the entity blocks any reconnaissance equipment by raising itself to the roof of the cave.

Site 14B encompasses the length of titanium levees that run along either side of SCP-4872.. When material initially is placed inside SCP-4872 the mass isolates that area and halts the flow to slow submersion. Living Organic matter experience extreme feelings of shock, terror, and pain. Most are rendered unconscious after seconds of submersion and quickly swallowed immediately after. Long term monitoring has revealed that the amount of time it takes for one to submerge positively correlates with the amount of time subjects remain conscious. So far, the entity has never tried to move past the barriers the foundation has set around it.

Site 14C rests at the tail end of the river. The entity seems to stop and reverse, flowing uphill the mountains eastern side back into 14A. At this reversal site, organic and inorganic material not fully corroded by SCP-4872 are expelled. These remnants have been found to be mixtures of plant life, minerals, and the skeletal remains of mammalian creature ranging back to the ███████████ era. Within the amassed remains lies a solitary black oak slab smoothed and etched into by artificial means. The front has a depiction of two large eyes beneath a mountain. The back has text of the with roots in the ████████ tribe's written script. The approximate translation is as follows:

She attacked the land and creatures alike
To fill her craven need
The stoic mountain was left alone
And it could only bleed.

Site 14D hold and contains the indigenous entities classified as SCP 4872-1 originally found around the SCP 4872 performing ritualistic sacrifice. The “tribe’s” numbers upon arrival of initial expedition/research effort by the foundation was estimated to be 4,000. However, upon arrival of MTF Nu-7 the tribe's members were critically diminished to just ███. They claim that they lived here as duty rather than a choice. See interview log 4872-1Ω.

INCIDENT LOG 4872-D12

Foreword: The following is a chronological transcript of the events that occurred prior to and during 4872-D12. Camera footage across Site 14 have been compiled to give a better idea of sequence of events that lead to loss of 7 agents of the foundation. These events occurred following a period of exactly 98 hours since the last time a human was submerged within SCP 4872

INTERVIEW LOG 4872-1Ω

Dr. Monroe's notes: Enitity appears to be sapient, possessing a firm grasp of the English language. The emotional states of 4872-1Ω so far have been near impossible to surmise as the entity has no facial features or ticks that would indicate agitation or otherwise.
