Special Containment Procedures : Class-A memetic agents are to be used on residents living in affected areas to convince them that all SCP-5000 instances are animals common or native in their region.

With the effects of the agents in mind, local government units are to order them to report any materials left by these instances in optimum condition, touting cooperation with the Animal Welfare Institute on cases of possible animal abuse and exploitation.

The only possible harm related to SCP-5000 is that individuals may mistake wild members of their species for them, and provoke those. While SCP-5000 instances are more docile than normal members of their species, they can cause harm if provoked.

Meanwhile, SCP-5000-1's access points are to be guarded by MTF-036 ("Identity Eigenvectors").

SCP-5000 is to be supervised by its investigation committee, SCP-5000-Investeur, with a focus on its source and nature.

A main focus is to discover the biographies of individuals relevant to the subject matter of SCP-5000. It is to be noted, however, that only around 0.4 percent of the total number of unidentified individuals has been deemed a success in data collection due to a lack of surviving records.

The designation of SCP-5000 is to be downgraded from Level 3 to 1.

Description:SCP-5000 refers to a group of an indeterminate number of animals that manifest in different parts of Asia and Europe. All of these relate to the regions where they spawn via being a member of an endangered species native to that region. Analysis of tissue samples reveal traces of Obskur, a memory agent used by the Foundation from 1941 up to 1946.

These usually appear to individuals present around rural areas in the affected regions, carrying a bundle of newspapers wrapped around a 0.1 by 0.1m wooden box . Reports indicate that after circling the individual, the animal would then leave the bundle, and rush away. In the box, a paper indicating a word puzzle, usually crosswords or simple ciphers, would then be found.

If an individual answers the cipher and the crossword, even incorrectly, the SCP-5000 instance would return inside a wooden box that appears at the doorsteps of the individual ; how this box is delivered is unknown. It would then stay with the individual, and after spending an indeterminate amount with of time ranging from one to 362 days with the individual, would then leave the individual with the box, and a flower usually native to the region.

Along with those is a cipher bundled to it that when decoded, has a short message, usually in the individual's native language, is also found thanking the individual for helping the 'discovery' of a certain situation or emotion. In several cases, a name of an unidentified individual is also provided.

In the time before memetics were applied, individuals usually panicked upon seeing the instance ; most of the initial reports came from these individuals. Meanwhile, reports indicate that in times of duress, harm and capture, SCP-5000 instances behaved like other members of their species.

There are no discernible difference pre and post-memetics application in terms of behavior of SCP-5000 members.

SCP-5000 instances often appear more to individuals who have unidentified lineages beyond grandparents, have musical careers, are inadequately or still educated, and express a general level of apathy and hate towards criminals.
