Item #: SCP-5218

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5218 is kept in a sound proof cell 20x20x10ft. Walls and ceiling of the room should be fitted with soundproof foam and should be checked weekly if any foam needs replacement. SCP-5218 sits on a platform 1.5x1.5x4ft with a 2 inch thick glass encasing the object. If glass breaks or is damaged it must be replaced in the next 24 hours of the report.

Description: SCP-5218 appears to be an older metronome that is believed to be made in 1816 by █████ ███████. SCP-5218 is 90x90x202mm, and is set at 90 bpm and has a blood stain on the front of it. Although it looks like a regular metronome, SCP-5218 is not to be played with. SCP5218-1 (The Pendulum) exerts a force strong enough to go through any material. SCP-5218-1 is unstoppable despite all the Foundations attempts to stop it.

SCP-5218 also can not be destroyed. All attempts to destroy, or apply any pressure to it has led SCP-5218 to get louder, loud enough to harm a human eardrum. On record, SCP-5218 has reached 146dB. When trying to destroy SCP-5218 we noticed it does dent but the object acts like an organism and heals itself usually over an hour. The first dent reported was found on October 22nd, 2002. It was reportedly missing after 34 minutes of the report. Any further attempts of destroying the SCP are unauthorized by O5 command.

SCP-5218-1 does have some unique qualities to it. First attempt of stopping SCP-5218-1 resulted in a severed hand (SCP-5218-2). SCP-5218-2 after being sliced off slowly turned black and corroded. Further tests have shown the same outcome as SCP-5218-2.

Addendum-1A-057: SCP-5218 has unusual properties, like its ability to heal itself, and react on it’s environment around it. SCP-5218 as stated in its description starts to tick louder when you inflict force or apply pressure to it. We believe this to be a hyperarousal response which is usually a physiological response to a threat or attack. Not only that but like stated previously SCP-5218 seems to heal itself in approximately 1 hour. We are still unsure what sort of properties SCP-5218 has exactly. Dr. Green, senior researcher believes SCP-5128 might be a living thing.
