This is a record of the events caused by SCP-571-Echo. On the date [REDACTED], I was at my shift monitoring the SCP from the security room. this SCP, it must be noted, is of a humanoid form. it wears a red hoodie and black trousers. it's face is never seen. when the incident happened, no-one expected it to be so violent. it started by keeling over, seemingly in pain. two officials rushed in and asked it what was the problem. as it was usually placid, the high authorities trusted it. It replied in its usual gravely voice
"Nothing. just a stomach ache." then, the camera went dead. the three people who were watching from behind the one-way window reported that jets of black ink started to seep out from where the mouth would be. they are all now dead. the ink became a tidal wave, rushing out into the corridors. through the intercom, i heard the SCP say
"I always liked a good book." I managed to rush into a store closet before i was engulfed in the ink wave, but when i heard it recede, i opened the door and there was no bodies. i rushed into the security base and saw the screen flick on. SCP-571-Echo held out an empty book out as a shield against the ink, and the ink was absorbed by the book. It flicked through the book, mumbling some of the employees' names. then he paused.
"Zachary Tokiel. I know you, and you're missing. you aren't in the book." he then looked up at the camera. I know It's coming, so I'm typing this up so the other facility in the area knows of the threat of this SCP.
Zack Tokiel signing off permanently. goodbye.
