SCP-5862 "Candy Bar"

Item #: SCP-5862 “Berry Bar”

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5862 is to be kept contained in a 10cm x 10cm fiberglass containment case, resting on a concrete podium roughly 60 centimeters in height. In the case of a containment breach, SCP-5862 will be secured with MTF Unit Epsilon-11 (“Nine-Tailed Fox”) and brought to Site-18, where it will be overseen by O5-██.

Description: SCP-5862 is a candy bar approximately 6.78cm x 10.54cm x 1.27cm, covered in an orange wrapper with white text labeled “Berry Bar.” Smaller text below says “Orange flavor,” in bold. The backside of SCP-5862’s wrapper shows the “Nutrients Facts Label” white is in a seemingly undiscovered language. The wrapper of SCP-5862 cannot be removed, thus the candy bar under the wrapper itself cannot be acquired. Upon further testing, SCP-5862’s wrapper was defined as SCP-5862-1, and is seemingly indestructible. SCP-5862 has a notable “fruity” scent, but can never be specified as any specific fruit, even an orange which is the apparent flavor of SCP-5862.

Extensive testing and attempts to open SCP-5862 has proven both SCP-5862 and SCP-5862-1 to be seemingly indestructible. While SCP-5862 can be broken, it has an extensive regenerative ability. D-Class involved in testing of SCP-5862 have noted an overpowering feeling of wanting to open the wrapper. (see SCP-5862 test-log below)

SCP-5862 Test Log:

Experiment 5862-A:

Dr. Daniels overseen by Dr. Octavier
D-1058 selected for testing procedure

Procedure: D-Class will be instructed to enter the containment cell of SCP-5862. D-Class will then be asked to attempt taking off the wrapper of SCP-5862.

Results: D-1058 entered the containment zone of SCP-5862. D-1058 made eye contact with SCP-5862, upon which he told researchers he wanted to open the wrapper. Dr. Daniels instructed D-1058 to attempt opening SCP-5862. All attempts to peel the wrapper of SCP-5862 failed. D-1058 described the material of SCP-1058 to feel plastic, yet incredibly strong. D-1058 is instructed by Dr. Daniels to describe what the candy bar underneath the wrapper felt like. D-1058 describes SCP-5862 to be a solid block of what felt like chocolate, with small bumps around the top surface, while smooth on the bottom. D-1058 is instructed to attempt splitting the candy bar in half. D-1058 successfully breaks SCP-5862 roughly in ½. D-1058 is asked to describe the cross-section of SCP-5862. D-1058 describes it being bumpy, and jagged at the same time. D-1058 is asked to place SCP-5862 back onto it’s concrete podium, and note any changes before ending the test. D-1058 places SCP-5862 back onto the podium, and immediately notes it regenerates from ½ to being whole again. Researchers note the change, and the test is ended.

Experiment 5862-B:

Dr. Daniels overseen by Dr. Remy
D-1158 selected for testing procedure

Procedure: D-Class will be instructed to enter the containment cell of SCP-5862. D-Class will be asked to describe the texture of SCP-5862 thoroughly, then attempt to break SCP-5862 with a small steel-headed hammer provided by security personnel. Any attempts by D-Class to harm foundation personnel with the hammer will end with termination of test.

Results: D-1158 enters SCP-5862’s containment cell, and tells researchers he would like to open the wrapper and eat SCP-5862. D-1158 is instructed to pick up SCP-5862 and describe the exact texture. Description given by D-1158 matches original testing results. D-1158 is then instructed by Dr. Daniels to use his hammer to break SCP-5862 into small bits. D-1158 complies, and SCP-5862 is broken into small sized bits. D-1158 is then instructed by Dr. Daniels to attempt to peel SCP-5862-1 open. Attempts at taking the wrapper of SCP-5862 off failed, and D-1158 is instructed to watch SCP-5862 for any changes. Approximately 2 minutes and 54 seconds pass, and D-1158 is told to revert his gaze from SCP-5862, wait a moment, and return his gaze. D-1158 does so, and tells Dr. Daniels that SCP-5862 has become whole again, and was no longer broken. Results are noted, and the test is ended.

Experiment 5862-C:

Dr. Daniels overseen by Dr. Remy
D-1820 selected for testing procedure

Procedure: D-Class will not be present for the start of testing, due to the handling and possession of handguns during testing. D-Class will be substituted for a member of the security department. Member of the security department will be given a 9mm pistol, with a full magazine. SCP-5862 will be propped upright, with a thick layer of concrete acting as a backdrop behind it. Security personnel will be instructed to fire into SCP-5862, then D-Class will be called into the containment cell to examine results.

Results: Security personnel enter SCP-5862 containment cell, and await further instructions from Dr. Daniels. Security personnel instructed to aim towards SCP-5862, and inform him when he has a clear and accurate shot. Security personnel tell Dr. Daniels that he has the shot. Dr. Daniels then instructs security personnel to fire a single bullet into SCP-5862. One bullet is fired, and security personnel are instructed to exit SCP-5862’s containment cell, and bring D-Class in. D-1820 enters SCP-5862’s containment cell, and is instructed to approach SCP-5862 and describe the exterior, as well as to pick up SCP-5862 and examine any interior damage. Upon inspection, D-1820 reports no exterior damage to SCP-5862-1, but a small hole in SCP-5862. Description is noted, and D-1820 is instructed to look away from SCP-5862, then examine any changes to SCP-5862. D-1820 turns away, then picks up SCP-5862. He informs Dr. Daniels that the hole was no longer present. Results are noted, and the test is ended.
