Description: SCP-5XXX is a phenomenon that primarily affects human subjects who died of natural causes: affected bodies will be altered to create the presence of strangulation marks on their neck, and their surrounding environment altered to create evidence of disturbances; the most notable feature of an SCP-5XXX alteration is a yellow HB-2 pencil appearing on the lips of the affected body.
SCP-5XXX, based on known observations, occurs at night, when the human subject is in secluded areas, concentrated around Palmsten Road, Treeton Avenue, and Busher Street in Abundante, California. SCP-5XXX alterations have only been witnessed four times, however, it is believed to be responsible for affecting a total of 20 subjects, creating evidence for a supposed serial killer dubbed "The HB-2 Strangler" by the media.
Discovery: SCP-5XXX was first brought into Foundation attention when Foundation webcrawler bots noticed a video on Twitter posted by Sawyer Seale under their account "flavHostilous586o0w" depicting SCP-5XXX in effect outside of a restaurant. The video was quickly flagged and removed; Special Agent Taskforce Epsilon-56 ("You Saw Nothing") undertook an operation to remove all memories of the video from the people who saw it.

It is concentrated on three streets: Walnut Street, McKenzie Lane, and Orvalt Road, occuring in night when subjects are alone. Otherwise, no commonality can be found among affected human subjects.
When the affected human subjects dies, their surrounding environment is altered to indicate disturbance. Their body is altered to make their death appear to be from strangulation, with strangulation marks appearing on their necks. Most noticably is the appearance of a yellow HB-2 pencil on affected subjects' mouth.
Due to this, this has caused the fear of a nonexistent serial killer (dubbed the HB-2 killer).
