Description: SCP-5XXX is an anomaly that randomly affects laundromats: when one uses the dryer or washing machine at a laundromat, there is a chance of the manifestation of foreign articles of clothing (designated SCP-5XXX-1); SCP-5XXX-1 instances vary from mundane to anomalous articles, some of them being hazardous. It is not known if SCP-5XXX-1 instances are created by SCP-5XXX, or originate from a parallel universe.

The first observed manifestation of SCP-5XXX by a Foundation member was at the "Jack's Clean Clothes" Laundromat in Sacramento, California in July 15, 2007. However, further manifestations (as documented online and by Foundation members) have been recorded across the entire United States of America, with the oldest documented SCP-5XXX being a Facebook post made by a Ryan Klein on January 17, 2003, where he wrote about finding a Rex Sox branded boxing glove that he did not own while taking out the laundry at a laundromat.

Six pairs of purple shirts, each of them likely bearing the Dr. Wondertainment logo (as observed of one instance from the window of the laundry machine in use). All instances instantly liquified the moment the laundry machine finished operation, being absorbed by the rest of Agent Xi's clothing and dying them purple. Liquid had to be squeezed out with gloves and is currently kept in Chemical Storage 1.
When asked, Dr. Isabel Wondertainment mentioned plans to create anomalous purple shirts that allowed the user to stick to surfaces and also survive falls of any heights, though the plan was abandoned after she was unable to prevent the degradation of the enchanted materials used in water.

Special Incident SCP-5XXX:
On December 13, 2021, a rather noticeable SCP-5XXX manifestation occurred at the Legacy of Sophia Light Laundromat in Miami, Florida
As corrobated by many witnesses, Delma Gutiérrez was taking out the laundry from a dryer when she discovered a SCP-5XXX-1 instance that was a white labcoat. The SCP-5XXX instance suddenly went animate and flew into the center of the laundromat, where it raised its hand in the air as a voice originating from it shouted, "Seek, Clothing, Paradise Awaits! Activate Stratagem 561!" before ceasing its anomalous properties.

All operational washing machines and dryers were suddenly observed to be spinning at very fast speeds, before they all emitted a white flash of light, with all clothes in them disappearing.

The resulting SCP-5XXX-1 instance has been designated a High Priority Instance, and is currently being studied. The relationship between the event and following SCP-5XXX manifestations is currently being studied.
