Special Case Procedures: SCP-5XXX has been kept in Safe House 5XXX, where it is monitored by cameras anomalously altered to filter out cognitohazards. Monitoring of SCP-5XXX has been performed by a rotating shift of monitors, who will inform the rest of the Society of Chartering the Paranormal when SCP-5XXX changes.

Anomaly Description: SCP-5XXX is the subject of this file; SCP-5XXX has changed its form and nature a few times already, and the contents of this file would change in accordance, allowing the Society to know when a change has occurred; it is unknown if there might be further changes.

Below is a description of the various iterations of SCP-5XXX

Iteration 1

Description: SCP-5XXX's original depiction, a book titled "The Mass Killings of the Shilling Killer in Alpes Street" by a "R.E.M. Bandes", which depicted the murders of a serial killer named the Shilling Killer who is a devotee of "The Red Horror that Dwells in the Alpes." When opened, a cloud would form over the opener and continuously pour animal blood on the reader till the book was closed.

SCP-5XXX remained in this form for 15 years. On May 5 2020, SCP-5XXX suddenly changed.

Iteration 2

Description: A cinema named "Vikander and Kneed's Technical Masterpiece": though no staff manned the cinema, one was required to burn $15 at the ticket counter to be able to open the doors to enter (any attempts to enter with someone else holding the door open would result in both people being pushed back by a force, and the admission process having to be redone); there was no food, despite the presence of food counters.

The contents of the cinema would be random, showing films from then-popular films to old films unknown to the public; a common factor among the films however was the insertion of many product placements in the contents of the film (no matter how anachronistic) that was all widely agreed among watchers to have made the movie worse (for example, in the cinema's showing of "The Godfather", before the climax of the movie, Michael Corleone stops by an Apple store where he meets Steve Jobs, who proceeds to explain every product in the store, including products that would not be released at the time of the showing. This scene, according to Agent Aerosel, takes about 15 minutes)

SCP-5XXX remained in this form for a week. On May 12 2020, SCP-5XXX changed again.

Iteration 3

Description: A sentient firetruck, that could also control the items it carried. It would use its firehose to spray other automobiles, which would proceed to turn into copies of itself (the driver and passengers would be translocated out of the automobile). The firetruck would then proceed to fight with its copy, a fight that it would win, before flashing its light in a pattern and leaving, any injuries that it took observed to be slowly repairing; the defeated copy would proceed to burst on fire, before suddenly flashing and disappearing. Regions, where such happened, would experience a rain occurrences rise. When asked about its actions, the firetruck would simply respond, "Classified."

SCP-5XXX remained in this form for three days. On May 15 2020, SCP-5XXX changed again

Iteration 4

Description: A random phenomenon that suddenly caused the transformation of a living being into a tank of various make. Resulting tanks would proceed to attack all living things, resulting in massive deaths; the probability of such occurring was noted to rise proportionally in the span of a few minutes.

Due to the nature of this phenomenon, all countries across the world collapsed; anomalous methods of dealing with this phenomenon were useless.

In the late stages of this phenomenon, tanks were observed to appear out of nowhere, theorized to result from the transformation of microorganisms; Flying objects with features of a tank were observed by the few surviving members of the society to appear in the sky, and portals were observed to open, with tanks of different kinds emerging from them; The image of a Tiger appeared on the Sun.

SCP-5XXX remained in this form for ten minutes, at which it amassed a large body count that was not accurately ascertained.

On May 15 2020, an XK-Reality Shift event occurred, undoing most of the events related to this phenomenon and memories of it; only this file and the memories of a few were unaffected, including those who had fled to the Library of Silence.

Iteration 5

Description: A book titled "The Mass Killings of the Shilling Killer in Alpes Street" by a "R.E.M. Bandes", which depicted the murders of a serial killer named the Shilling Killer who is a devotee of "The Red Horror that Dwells in the Alpes." File was similar to the first iteration, but it also included research into the book's author, who was discovered to be named Rick Miller, and included recovered diaries where Rick Miller laments his writer's block, the quality of his only published work, his hopes of being a famous author and his feelings of despair of ever reaching such a goal. It ends with Rick Miller talking about going to the Wanderer's Meeting to meet a "Man of Many Books and Pens", expressing the desire that he would "finally be reborn the greatest of all writers" (queries with staff and visitors of the Library revealed no entity known as the Man of Many Books and Pens, though there was an entity with a similar name called the Man of Pens who was noted by members to be a deceitful entity with likely malicious intent)

SCP-5XXX has demonstrated no further changes since then.

As of June 24, 2022, SCP-5XXX remains a book titled "The Mass Killings of the Shilling Killer in Alpes Street" by a "R.E.M. Bandes" which causes a blood-raining cloud to manifest over the reader when opened.
