Containment Procedures:
The area around the entrance of the cave is under heavy containment, access of level 4+ clearance is required to pass the gates (for test purposes only). Anyone seen trying to pass the gates or have already passed the gates will be given class C amnestics, and to be relocated a mile away from SCP 6001's containment.
The gates surrounding the entrance of SCP 6001's containment is two foot thick reinforced concrete surrounded by one inch thick steel. The gates are guarded by three to five guards wearing body armor and are required to carry a side arm, a machine gun (for extreme measures only), and a small pill container full of class C amnestics (for the reason of intruders).
Description:
SCP 6001 was found in a cave of unknown size in the Gates of the Arctic national park. SCP 6001 is a tree with a size of about thirteen feet tall, and looks like a mix of a dead and decaying apple tree and a willow tree. SCP 6001 is composed of an unknown biological material. The surrounding area outside the cave is 0 to -50F (in the winter), but the area in the cave is recorded to be on average 70 to 95F because of SCP 6001. SCP 6001's temperature is on average 120 to 150F, the way SCP 6001 generates heat is unknown.
If you are within ten to twenty feet of SCP 6001, you will start to mindlessly walk towards SCP 6001. When you come within eight to eighteen feet of SCP 6001, you will begin to stop all feeling in your body. Vines will then ascend from the ground and start to enter your skin in the most painful way. Once you are within four feet of SCP 6001, you will then stop walking with more roots and vines connecting with the vines that were previously in your skin. The roots and vines will than rip you apart until they get to the heart. Once they get to the heart, SCP 6001 will then consume it in an unknown way. After SCP 6001 "eats" the heart, an apple grows on SCP 6001, once it does the roots and vines descend into the ground.
