Item #: SCP-7144

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-7144 should be kept in a two (2) room furnished with non-organic furniture and items, and a bathroom. The outside of SCP-7144's cell should be coated in one (1) millimeter (mm) thick cytoplasm mixed with gunpowder to prevent SCP-7144 from phasing through the ground accidentally. Items requested by SCP-7144 are subject to approval from at least two Senior Researchers. Weapons and most tools that are requested should be immediately denied.

Description: SCP-7144 appears to be a human of Germanic descent in their early twenties, 175 cm (5'9") with blonde hair and blue eyes. The lower half of SCP-7144, from the waist down, appears to be largely composed of a translucent material. Said material appears to glow a dull green in the dark. SCP-7144 is able to function as an adult human, able to eat, drink, sleep, and perform other tasks needed in his daily life.

SCP-7144 refers to himself as "Reynauld Gespenstisch" and generally is calm and collected, although he has been known to swear profusely in anger when provoked. When given free time, subject tends to read books and study, although he has expressed interest in playing chess with personnel at times. SCP-7144 has an iq of 126 and is able to speak English, German, and Russian. Subject also has an affinity for history and military science.

The lower half of SCP-7144 is able to phase through most solid objects and interact with objects on the other side, as well as move items through its legs up to the waist. The inside of SCP-7144's lower body smells vaguely of dust and has a texture similar to real skin. For unknown reasons, subject's lower body is unable to phase through cytoplasm mixed with gunpowder. SCP-7144 is also able to use various weapons effectively but prefers a bolt action rifle to other gunpowder based weapons.

Addendum 7144.1: Discovery

SCP-7144 was found in the Black Forest, Germany after stories of a half-ghost dating sometime after World War 1 were leaked to foundation personnel. MTF would be deployed in 199█ to find SCP-7144 and found him stuck in the ground as he desperately tried to escape. SCP-7144 would be rescued by MTF and physically transported to Site-██ for further research despite struggles from SCP-7144 to escape.

The following interview was conducted by Dr. Dismol Schulze shortly after SCP-7144 was transported into foundation custody.

Interviewed: SCP-7144

Dr. Dismol Schulze: Hello, I am Dr. Dismol Schulze, and you are?

SCP-7144: (In German) My name is Reynauld Gespenstisch, Gefreiter in the Kaiser's army.

Dr. Dismol Schulze: You were found stuck in the ground unable to move, how did you get in that situation?

SCP-7144: (In German) Well, I'm not sure how long I was stuck there, but I think it started sometime in 1916.

Dr. Dismol Schulze: During the first World War?

SCP-7144: First?

Dr. Dismol Schulze: Yes, there were two World Wars.

SCP-7144: Did Germany win the first world war?

Dr. Dismol Schulze: No, Germany lost both world wars, such information is-

SCP-7144 begins to swear profusely in German for about a minute, once SCP-7144 has calmed down, Dr. Dismol continues.

Dr. Dismol Schulze: Continue with your story of how you got stuck in the ground.

SCP-7144: (Sighing) Well it was 1916, I had recently been diagnosed with trench foot when we were called to charge the French trenches again. During the ensuing charge, I think I got hit somewhere around here, (SCP-7144 points to his shoulder.) and got knocked over into a hole. I honestly thought I was dead for a bit, but when I came to, I crawled back to the trenches as quickly as I could. It wasn't until later that day when I realized my legs were translucent. I shrugged it off, thinking it was a hallucination, then went to sleep.
Dr. Dismol Schulze: How did you end up in the Black Forest then?

SCP-7144: Well, after I woke up the next day, I found myself stuck in the ground in the middle of a forest. I tried to escape for who knows how long, but you guys came and pulled me out.

Dr. Dismol Schulze: Do you know what happened between the time in which you fell asleep and ended up in between the Black Forest?

SCP-7144: I'm not sure, and I don't think I'm at liberty to tell you anyways.

(All further attempts at questioning SCP-7144 ended in failure, and SCP-7144 was put into containment shortly after.)
