Special Containment Procedures: MTF Iota-12 ''Airways'' or MTF Iota-13 ''Breathers'' are to regularly lookout the news for any sudden violent human deaths from Asphyxia or Suffocation in order to find or neutralize any wild instances of SCP-928 that is not contained by the SCP Foundation.
The Three Specimens of SCP-928, two females (SCP-982-1), (SCP-982-2), one juvenile male (SCP-928-3), acquired by the foundation must and always remain in a 10 x 10 m room made of steel, lined with lead, located on Site-██. Two security cameras with infrared filters and infrared-sensitive film are to be installed inside the room. Each specimen of SCP-966 is to be fed with 20 kg of meat every month.
Description: SCP-928 are predatory cannibalistic creatures that resemble hairless, lack of texture forms of human beings. On each hand, they have five 25cm claws that are fit and strong for combat. All instances of SCP-928 seem to have needle like teeth that break easily, making them unfit for biting prey. SCP-928's height ranges from 1.4 to 1.6 meters. SCP-928 have hollow bones and low muscular density. They do not seem to rest through sleep; instead, they will suddenly cease all movement at seemingly random intervals of time, resuming normal activity three to five minutes later.
SCP-928 may only be seen using infrared filters. SCP-928 are visible only at wavelengths ranging from 700 nm to about 900 nm. This applies to all of SCP-928's tissues. If their skin, muscles or organs have suffered from second to third-degree burns, the affected areas will be visible at wavelengths ranging from 360 to 900 nm. SCP-928 can detect frequencies, these include but are not limited to, Gamma Rays, Radio, Microwaves, and X-Rays.
SCP-928 feeds on large and small animals including humans. They mostly hunt in pairs. Behavior studies have been conducted, showing that an instance of SCP-928 may take claim of a corpse, not letting the other pairs eat it. The other instances would need to fight and challenge the claim to be able to eat the corpse.
SCP-928 instances have two ways of hunting methods. They barely bite, and if they do it won't cause a lot of physical damage. SCP-928 relies on their long claws, or either shooting out a burst of ████ waves. ████ waves paralyze the breathing system of the human body and any organism. The effects from these waves are not permanent, and last about 2-3 hours. Once the prey has suffocated, SCP-928 will rip off flesh from their prey and devour the prey. They are noted to mostly try to swallow huge chunks of flesh.
Survivors of ████ waves have been noted to experience vivid hallucinations, low heart beat and blood pressure, low oxygen in the body, slow problem solving, slow responses, and coma.
Why SCP-928 continually exposes these waves to only some of their victims is unknown. One hypothesis is that SCP-928 will only do this when starving, since it further degenerates the physical and mental state of their prey, suffocating it at a faster rate. ████ waves may be prevented by wearing lead vests.
All though instances of SCP-928 are found all over the world, since their discovery in 19██, the foundation has done a great job in thinning the amount of them almost close to extinction.1
