SCP Tale - Into the Mines

A2-2 is awoken by a light shove on his arm from the person sitting next to him, A2-3.

"Wake up lazybones, we're here." A2-3 says in a teasing tone.

"Back into the meat grinder." A2-4 says unenthusiastically.

"Hey, quiet all of you. The CO is coming." A2-1 says.

"Good day gentlemen. As you are all aware, you will be traveling down into the depths of SCP-2951, with two primary objectives in mind. First, you shall search for the bottom or at least what's close to it. Your secondary objective is to find Hammerhead Squad, which we sent down there before you. It has been a week since we sent them down and they have rations and supplies that would last them three weeks. Our communication has also been severed with them. If possible, retrieve the team members or any useful information they may contain and continue with your mission. That shall be all. Please check your gear before you descend and check your teammate's equipment. I'll let Captain Holt take over. Good luck."

"Alright squad, we've prepared for this. This'll be just like the simulations. If we find ourselves in a pinch, Zeta Squad will come grab our asses and get us out. Alright, we descend in ten minutes. Check your gear and anything else you might need to do before we get down there." A2-1 confidently says.

"Yeah, like pray for our lives, did you hear what happened to T5?" A2-3 whispers to A2-2.

A2-2 ignores A2-3, he looks around him, seeing the outline of a crudely constructed outpost surrounding the entry point to SCP-2951. There are several researchers preparing the gear for the team and stuffing rations inside of their heavy looking backpacks, covered with dirt at the bottom. Zeta Squad members are sitting at the campfire near the entry point, laughing and chatting with each other. Their red uniforms standing out against the green grass and brown mud surrounding the camp. A2-2 saw a group of researchers huddling together discussing something that was just out of earshot.

"Alright 2-2, make sure there's only five of us down there." A2-3 says sarcastically.

"Oh knock it off Malcolm." A2-1 sternly says.

A2-3 chuckles to himself quietly and stands up to retrieve his backpack and suit. The team moves away and splits up. A2-2 and A2-3
