SCP-4026-4

Item #: SCP-XXOZ

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: Delayed Audio Feedback Devices (DAFDs) will subliminally play the activation phrases of the access points of SCP-XXOZ at various frequencies to prevent access to SCP-XXOZ. Foundation personnel who are assigned to facilities within SCP-XXOZ must have familiarity with the lore of The Oz books by L. Frank Baum. While Within SCP-XXOZ Foundation Personnel must maintain the illusion that they are members of a religious order. If this illusion is broken it might lead to attacks on foundation operated facilities. If a foundation operated the facility is attacked by the residents of SCP-XXOZ Mobile Task Force Gamma-28 "Wicked Witches" will be deployed to repel the attack.

Description: SCP-XXOZ is a large continent within a large pocket dimension that is in near-constant political turmoil. It is modeled after Oz in the book series by L. Frank Baum. SCP-XXOZ is accessed by quoting a character from film The Wizard of Oz within 5 feet of one of four statues in Oz Park, Chicago. The reason for this inconsistency in the source material is currently unknown. Within the foundation mapped areas of SCP-XXOZ, there are 4 main regions and cultures ruled by a political body referring to itself as The Empire of Oz. Surrounding this area is a largely arid region which foundation diplomats are attempting to cross in order to contact any nations that exist on the other side.

At the time of discovery, SCP-XXOZ-1 led to an empty shack within a forest located in the extradimensional space. The Foundation has since constructed a facility around the shack. Agents are required to prune the trees around the facility on a daily basis; failure to do so will result in the local flora becoming aggressive and attacking Foundation personnel and the facility. SCP-XXOZ-2 led to a dark forest nearby a large log which serves as a bridge to the territory of a pair of predators that appear to be hybrids of the American brown bear and the Bengal Tiger. Due to the seemingly endangered nature of these creatures foundation personnel are advised not to attack the creatures unless directly engaged. The facility currently serves as the main base for MTF Gamma-28 with its central location on the roads being ideal for moving the task force. SCP-XXOZ-3 led to a large field of poppies outside The Emerald City the capital of The Empire of Oz. Foundation Personnel must wear gas masks when outside of the facility due to the vapors that the flowers produce that create a sedative effect on organic organisms. The facility serves as an embassy that encourages peaceful coexistence with the rulers of SCP-XXOZ. SCP-XXOZ-4 led to an empty house that was violently dropped from several thousand feet above. It took several years for foundation diplomats to convince Empress Dorothy of Oz (PoI-XXOZ) to give the house to the foundation. It now serves as the center of foundation activities within SCP-XXOZ.

  • SCP-XXOZ-4 (Dorothy and Toto): "I don't think we're in Kansas anymore Toto!"

Document XXOZ

This Document was found in an envelope sent to the room of Dr.█████ while on a diplomatic mission to Emerald City.

Dear Dorothy,

I must warn you that you are going down a dark path. When I followed you on your travels I always believed that you would stay in Oz eventually. But I must warn you that you are going down a path that I can't follow. When you overthrew Ozma and threw out Oscar I knew what was going to happen if you kept going. I kept writing hoping that I could get a book out of it. The complete volume is in a package that will arrive within a few weeks. It will not be published. Ever since you killed The Lion and took over his kingdom I knew it would never be published. I'm so sorry but I'm burying the slippers. There's a park in Chicago that should work. Goodbye Dorothy.
