SCP-XXXX.

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is currently being tracked by Research Team Alpha. The Research team should cycle every one year to quell the memetic effects of SCP-XXXX. Any attempts made to send manned missions outside of a 15 lightyear distance from sol should be discouraged and, if needed, sabotaged.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a heavily memetic entity measuring up to 53,400 light years in diameter. However, because of its memetic properties, it seems about 30,000 light years longer in diameter.[[/footnote]] Because of SCP-XXXX's sheer size and visibility, SCP-XXXX should be claimed to be an extension of the Milky Way Galaxy. By showing lavish qualities, SCP-XXXX intrigues the viewer (Hereby referred to as SCP-XXXX-1) to attempt to travel outside of our own solar system. The longer SCP-XXXX-1 views SCP-XXXX, they will feel more inclined to travel to outside of the gravitational pull of Sol. Experimentation has shown that when SCP-XXXX-1 views SCP-XXXX for more than 10 years collectively, it will do anything it must to travel outside of earth1. If SCP-XXXX-1 manages to enter SCP-XXXX, SCP-XXXX seems to "digest" SCP-XXXX-1. it is currently unknown what occurs after SCP-XXXX-1 is digested.

At 09/14/2009, 12:23PM, research team Beta discovered that SCP-XXXX was slowly increasing its thickness and density, and simulations have shown that SCP-XXXX is trying to form an orb around the earth. It is currently unknown what will happen once an orb is constructed.

Initial Discovery On 02/23/1976, a vessel containing D-5473 was meant to be sent to Kapteyn's star for an unrelated testing event. However, during the Hohmann transfer, the rocket's main LRB2's fuel and oxidizer's pumps malfunctioned, causing the rocket to boost an additional 150,000 m/s3 in velocity. Approximately T+14821920004 after the launch (or 25 years after the failed Hohmann transfer), Foundation Site 14 noticed that contact had been cut with RID 653.

Initial footage of SCP-XXXX, each frame representing 24 hours.

The foundation's astronomical observatory showed that rocket 653 was no longer visible. Around 12 years before the loss of contact, the rocket was consumed5. Before being consumed, the vessel emitted a bright light for an estimated 2 days, decreasing in brightness before dimming completely. This lead to the discovery of SCP-XXXX.

Addendum XXXX.B Experiments

EXPERIMENT XXXX.001

Object sent: One unmanned probe with various temperature, atmospheric, and radar equipment. Orbit was edited for the perigee to be lower than the last recorded location of RID 653.

Result: Probe did not consumed. Probe was still visible after it went through SCP-XXXX.

Note: It seems as if SCP-XXXX is merely a "filter" that adds a memetic property to make the sky seem more lavish.

EXPERIMENT XXXX.002

Object sent: One manned probe with various temperature, atmospheric, and radar equipment. Orbit was edited for the perigee to be lower than the last recorded location of RID 653.

Result: Probe was consumed. Last location of vessel was 5km farther than RID 653.

Note: SCP-XXXX seems to have abilities to detect lifeform.

EXPERIMENT XXXX.003

Object sent: One probe with three various plant specimens (one bloomed Taraxacum, one Quercus sapling, and one

Result: Probe was not consumed. Same results as experiment 001.
