Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be inside a cube that is not touching any other surface, so it does not risk transporting itself to anywhere else. The cube is held up by ELO-IID electromagnetic supports. Inside the cube, even if it attempted to predate somebody that is near it, it would be unable to do much, other than just bite the prey, but without much length for it the tentacles to expand due to the size of the cube, it is very unlikely it will be able to.
Description: SCP-XXXX "The Surface Creature" is a creature that can only live inside a surface, such as a floor or a wall. It can be seen moving, it is visible by seeing a small bump in the surface it is moving in, but there is no damage done to the surface it was travelling through. If it attempts to attack, material dependant tentacles will rise from the surface it is in, with tentacles and teeth that will arise from the surface it is in. If bitten by the creature's teeth, the victim will develop an infection and proceed to grow tentacles using it's the victim's own body cells. The tentacles are covered with the victims skin, with the teeth made of keratin. The tentacles on the victim's body are also aggressive. Any victims are to be quarantined immediately. It takes about 4 hours for the infection to reach its peak. When the infection has reached its peak, the victim dissolves into a surface, making it a surface creature. This is said to be The Surface Creature's reproduction method. It currentlY will predate on anything that goes near it.
It is currently located in Site-███, Russia. SCP-XXXX was originally discovered following ██ Missing Persons reports coming from the Altai mountains, Siberia, Russia. See Incident SCP-XXXX-1.
