Artist Depiction of SCP-5134 illustrated by Theodor Kittelsen, 1904
Item #: 5134
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: Any and all potential signs of SCP-5134 is to be monitered and researched, in hopes of locating it. If SCP-5134 is located, MTF Alpha-10, codename "Deep Dive" is to be deployed at the location of SCP-5134, and one
D-Class personell is to be used as lure. Once SCP-5134 rises from it's hiding place, MTF Alpha-10 is tasked with containing the entity. If SCP-5134 is succesfully contained, SCP-5134 is to be brought to Site-██, and is to be monitored at all times. Once captured, SCP-5134 is to be contained in a 3m x 3m x 3m, with no way of possible entrance to avoid containment breaches. Any and all personell attempting to leave Site-██, are to questioned immediately. Unless the personell has proven itself to be who they claim to be, they are to be brought into SCP-5134's containment cell. If any civillians encounter SCP-5134, they are to be brought into foundation custody for questioning, before being administered Class-A Amnestics.
Description: SCP-5134 is a quasi-humanoid entity, approximatley 213.36 cm in height, with brown fur, that has an appearence similar to wood, specifically spruce, and a pair of luminescent eyes with a lime hue. It's arms extend down to it's legs, and terminate with a set of
sharp claws, with a thornlike appearence. SCP-5134 usually tends to reside within bodies of fresh water located in Scandinavia, though it has also been located near the border between Sør-Varanger in Norway and Pechengsky District
in Russia, as well as the lake Ruovesi located in Finland.
SCP-5134 is sapient, and has a suprisingly good amount of knowledge on humans and their desires. This knowledge allows SCP-5134 to lure humans into the body of water it resides in to drown them.
SCP-5134 has shapeshifting properties, allowing it to change it's appearence to lure it's victims. Some of it's most common appearences it takes on are young women and men, as well as wildlife typically adored by humans.
Once a human has encountered SCP-5134, it will attempt to convince them to go into the water. If succesful, go into the water with them, and go further into the water. Once they have gone further into the water, SCP-5134 will drag
it's victim below the surface, and pin them to the bottom of the water. Once it has reached the bottom, it will shift back into it's original form. Once it's victim has drowned, SCP-5134 will let go of them and will place nearby
rocks above them, preventing their body from rising, before moving to a different location.
The times SCP-5134 has been contained, SCP-5134 has shifted into Personell and other SCP's to breach containment. Once SCP-5134 breaches containment, it will attempt to research other SCP's, specifically SCP's classified as Safe, in
hopes of learning more about them. It will then attempt to escape Site-██, either through leaving disguised as personell who are on their way home, or leaving through the ventilation system.
SCP-5134 shares several distinct features with the creature "Nøkken" from Scandinavian Folklore, including its shapeshifting properties. Though the creature may be seen as a myth by most of the population,
