Item #: SCP-####

Object Class: Euclid/Keter

Special Containment Procedures: Due to the nature of SCP-####, physical containment remains impossible and as such, the outlined countermeasures shall be consistently managed and updated by Observation Post 634 (OP-634) to avoid as much fallout from SCP-####-A events as possible.

Upon detection of the SCP-#### broadcast signal, OP-634 personnel must activate the jamming signal that has proven effective at blocking transmission within the affected region.

Upon detection of the SCP-#### broadcast signal, OP-643 personnel must activate the pre-recorded audio message to be relayed across the SCP-#### broadcast frequency.

Upon detection of the SCP-#### broadcast signal, OP-634 personnel must activate the pre-recorded audio-visual file to be relayed across the SCP-#### broadcast frequency. Historical attempts show that the broadcast frequency will remain open to receive for as long as the pre-recorded material is being relayed. Under no circumstances should pre-recorded material be reused after its premiere. Under no circumstances should pre-recorded material be looped to extend OP-634 broadcasting time. Under no circumstances should further attempts be made to trace the source of the SCP-#### broadcast signal unless approved by at least one O5-council member.

Description: SCP-#### is an anomalous broadcast signal that depicts a television news report when received by audio-visual equipment. These reports are hereby designated SCP-####-A events. SCP-####-A events interrupt all regularly-planned television broadcasting at the time in the region affected, and proceed to urgently report the occurrence of either: (a) a lethal or cataclysmic natural disaster in the broadcast locale, or (b) a lethal and imminent threat from human individuals in the broadcast locale. To date, all events reported during occurrences of SCP-####-A have been false.

Instances of SCP-####-A have occurred at irregular intervals since the primary iteration [██/██/20██] that led to Foundation investigation. Due to back-dated research, multiple broadcasts have been retroactively designated as SCP-####-A events. Broadcasts designated as SCP-####-A are detailed below in chronological order:

Interview material indicates that the anomaly possesses some form of memetic effect transmitted upon ending of the broadcast.
Based on interviews with affected members of the public, it was deemed necessary to facilitate testing of the anomaly's possible memetic effects.
