Special Containment Procedures: Item SCP-4292 at all times will be kept in a 10ft x 10ft cube with a singular, six inch thick acrylic glass pane, as to provide natural, non-electrical lighting during daytime hours. All other walls are to be made of twelve-inch thick solid lead walling, as to prevent any electromagnetic waves from escaping the chamber. The electromagnetic presence of the room will be monitored AT ALL TIMES and is never to be left fully unattended. Failure to remain in attendance when told to do so will result in punishment.

Any electronic devices connected to the internet or any other wired connections are prohibited from entering SCP-4292's chamber. Only closed circuit monitoring is allowed. Failure to follow this rule will result in punishment, which may include removal from the facility (as requested by Dr. █████ after incident █████).

Description: Item SCP-4292 was found in a small apartment located near the town of █████ in Florida, United States. It resembles a small desktop personal computer with a roughly 24-inch monitor that is not turned on.

SCP-4292 was discovered in ████ after locals started reporting signal interruptions whilst watching public television, along with a few other residents noticing strange flashes, of what appeared to be commands, flash upon their screen. The aforementioned commands have been studied and do not resemble any existing computer coding language. Top foundation computer scientists, namely Dr. █████, Dr. ██████, among other apprentices have attempted to decode and study the language, but thus far the team has failed to do so.

The machine appears to connect to any electrical device or object connected to the internet or a grounded source. If the device in question is "smart", it will inject its code into said device using radio and microwaves as mentioned above. If the device is "not smart" (including anything connected to an electrical outlet) SCP-4292 will use it as a conduit in the attempt to access all "smart" devices in a given region.

The computer appears to use some sort of Botnet, in the attempt to control and manipulate the transfer of information between given regions. It does this by infecting the computers, and rerouting all information back to SCP-4292. Its motives have been under debate since its discovery, however the main theory behind its botnet are as follows.

  1. Infect any device connected to the internet or an electrical outlet.
  2. Take control of said device.
  3. Attack "smart devices" in a nearby region and attempt to use them to its advantage.
  4. Disable power and other necessary components of a given region.
  5. Where data is sent has yet to be found See Addendum 1

SCP-4292 emits a strong burst of radio waves and microwaves at irregular intervals, and the source within SCP-4292 is yet to be found. Any attempt to open SCP-4292 and view its contents has been met with a very powerful electrical shock, similarly to the shock that has occurred in previous attempts to unplug the machine.

Addendum 1: Communications with other SCPs
In an attempt to discover the destination of SCP-4292's communication, Dr. ██████ requested to bring and observe communications between SCP-4292 and SCP-079 on 09/28/2013. While using closed circuit electromagnetic sensors, foundation personnel were able to witness an exchange of information between the two entities in question. It has also been shown giving information to numerous other SCPs, namely [DATA EXPUNGED]. It has been confirmed that SCP-4292 is not artificially intelligent, as it has not shown any preference in the devices it gives its collected information to, nor has it appeared to specifically attack a target, even when being physically attacked.
