Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a locker located in the library of Site 73. Access is available to personnel with level 2 minimum clearance. All personnel are not allowed to experiment on SCP-XXXX without permission from 05 Command and supervision from other personnel with level 3 minimum clearance.
In the event of a containment breach, all hardcover books must be confiscated until the real SCP-XXXX is found. Once it is found, it must be replaced with a counterfeit SCP-XXXX to avoid misuse for the period of the
containment breach.
Description: SCP-XXXX appears to be an untitled brown hardcover book which measures around 21×33 cm. SCP-XXXX's contents are infinite blank pages. If viewed from the exterior the amount of pages appears to be finite.
SCP-XXXX is sapient and appears to have a high level of intelligence. Due to the fact it appears to be an unfinished book, it is unknown when the book was written nor do we know if there is a future explanation for it as the only known material is the text found inside.
To activate SCP-XXXX, the reader must greet it. Upon opening a random page, handwritten words will appear on it. If asked a question, SCP-XXXX will give a detailed answer on the next page the reader opens. The same question cannot be asked twice. The book cannot answer a question if the answer has not been discovered by mankind. If the book is closed, it will reset causing all the pages to turn blank.
Discovery: SCP-XXXX was discovered in a pawn shop located in [REDACTED] Dr. B████ had visited. The shopkeeper offered the book without asking for any form of payment and stated that he doesn't know what to do with the book. Dr. B████ was able to acquire the book and researched the properties of the book.
Experiment XXXX - 01: In an attempt to discover the book's properties, Dr. B████ attempted to write on the blank pages.
Result: The pages remain blank. Dr. B████ became curious of this unusual behavior
Experiment XXXX - 02: At the beginning of the test. Dr. B████ greeted the book (for unknown purposes)
Result: No audible response was heard. Upon opening a random page, Dr. B████ was surprised to see handwritten responses on the pages that were recently blank.
Experiment XXXX - 03: After witnessing the anomalous properties of SCP-XXXX Dr. B████ asked the book about the [REDACTED] Pistol.
Result: Very detailed information of the [REDACTED] Pistol was generated on the next page including photographs and drawings.
Experiment XXXX - 04: Under 05 Command, Dr. T███████ was ordered to ask the book for any options for the elimination of SCP-682 and SCP-096.
Result: SCP-XXXX responded with "This question is… new to us. Apologies Dr. T███████, please ask another question"
