Item #: SCP-XXXX (number will be added when posted)
Object Class: Safe Neutralized Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: A 500 meter by 500 meter perimeter around SCP-XXXX is to be maintained at all times by Foundation security personnel originating from the nearby Site-XX. Shifts should change on a bi-weekly basis. Personnel are not to enter the “trigger zone” of SCP-XXXX - a circular zone with a diameter of roughly fifty meters - if not carrying out primary containment protocol.
Primary containment protocol dictates that a single D-Class personnel, under supervision by a level 3 security officer, enter the trigger zone of SCP-XXXX and “play” with SCP-XXXX-1 for approximately thirty minutes, once a week. Personnel interacting with SCP-XXXX-1 should be polite and accommodating, but should not physically touch the entity. Once a thirty minute interval has passed, D-Class are to be escorted out of the perimeter and given Class A amnesties once returned to Site-XX.
Description: SCP-XXXX is an abandoned children’s playground located two kilometers east of the city of Otaru, Hokkaido, Japan. Equipment on the site consists of a small slide, monkey bars, two swings, a lighthouse, and a see-saw. All equipment is made primarily out of plastic, except the monkey bars (made of rusted metal beams) and the lighthouse (made of degraded wooden planks and flaking paint). Anomalous properties appear when an animal or human enters the trigger zone around the playground. This causes SCP-XXXX-1 to manifest several meters beside the subject.
SCP-XXXX-1 is a humanoid entity that stands over 5.7 meters tall. Weight and other statistics have not been able to be measured. The entity wields unusually long arms and legs and a smaller than usual torso. SCP-XXXX-1’s head is elongated, hairless, and lack discernible facial features. No vocal sounds have been uttered from the entity, and no intelligent communication can be held with it. Its personality can be described as childish and sensitive, content with using the playground equipment and interacting with the entity that caused it to manifest beforehand. SCP-XXXX-1 has been noted to fit in between equipment, despite its size, which suggests the entity is selectively incorporeal.
SCP-XXXX-1 will demanifest about five minutes after all subjects exit the area, often expressing dismay once personnel disengage. In addition, the entity appears to be emotionally distressed if personnel leave before the thirty minute mark,, though it makes no attempts to detain personnel or otherwise prevent them from disengaging.
When left untriggered for a period of two months, SCP-XXXX-1 will no longer appear in the area. While it was initially thought this neutralized SCP-XXXX, this theory was disproven once SCP-XXXX-1 was sighted again in its current residence. Primary Containment Protocol for SCP-XXXX was established shortly after containment of the area was reattained.
SCP-XXXX-1 was discovered in ██/██/98 after a string of similar police reports around Otaru and surrounding cities regarding a similarly described entity caught Foundation attention. Agent ██████, who was investigating an unrelated incident in the town, was sent to investigate the area it was last reported in. Upon confirming SCP-XXXX-1’s existence, she notified the Command of Site-XX of the anomalous location. Foundation personnel administered amnestics to the investigating police officers and the civilians that reported SCP-XXXX incidents, then confiscated relevant incident reports. As the story had began to spread around Otaru, a cover story was implemented that implicated a pale man (supplemented by a D-Class marked for termination) stalking local playgrounds. Since then, the relevant playground was walled off to prevent unauthorized access.
