Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: [wip]
Description: SCP-XXXX is a standard 31.31 x 31.31 cm cardboard album cover for the record Destroy Erase Improve by Meshuggah, containing a paper record sleeve. Testing shows that both the album cover and record sleeve are indestructible, despite showing appropriate wear dating back to the album's commercial release on ██/██/95.
The anomalous properties of SCP-XXXX occur when any 30 x 30 cm vinyl disc, hereon referred to as SCP-XXXX-1, is stored within its paper vinyl sleeve and subsequently played using an electronic or analog gramophone. Subjects actively listening to SCP-XXXX-1 describe its sound as "mediocre," "uninspired," and other negative descriptors, in addition to making repeated comments noting how they could perform the music better and expressing disbelief in the perceived poor quality of the record.
These effects still occur when completely blank records or records that different subjects have reported as their "favorite" are stored within SCP-XXXX and played. Recordings of SCP-XXXX-1 lack any anomalous properties and show no sonic differences to other copies of the same record.
